if there is a way to get hold of the pre patched models I wouldn't mind someone linking them to me
Hitman made a shiny new animation for the DKS-501 (with that floating hand fixed, thank god).

Not released yet, he just made it for fun so he needs to get permission to put it out there.
As good as an animator he is, the way he does recoil isn't really that good. It says something when an animation from an older game with sub-par animations looks more realistic than a professional animator's interpretation.

Also, is it just me who doesn't like the fact that the gun is so high up and the rear of it so close?
That is what I plan to do. Honestly I could probably just sneak it in and no one will notice...hopefully

Man I missed the thrill of modding. It's such a small and simple mod but it still feels good looking at the downloads from overnight.
83 on Nexus
188 on PS4
153 on Xbox
424 total downloads.
Such small numbers but it definitely feels good! Definitely going to take some time when I'm free and learn how to make a custom NPC and vendor.
Definitely grabbing it for Xbox, i need more mods
Couldn't you upload the F3/NV tapes directly to consoles though or bethesda mod thingy also blocks their own licensed content?
The game thought it would be a funny joke to give me a 2nd Preston Garvey.

At least he has someone to play cards with now.

I could try and hope they don't take it down

This is always my biggest problem with Hitman's stuff. It looks really well done, but its always so jerky. That was the first thing I noticed when I saw the Kiparis animations he did too.

Also, my girlfriend lives in Las Vegas, and I've accidentally said "New Vegas" so many times its not funny any more.

If you're firing a sniper without using its scope I'd imagine it'd look as frantic and jerky as that because the situation you'd be in is probably one where the enemy is already upon you.

You're right, but the recoil looks like the hands are jerking the gun back like a toy instead of a gun kicking back into the user's arms from firing a bullet.
I think this video shows recoil really well since his shooting full auto with a pretty light gun in .308, but even when he does a 2~ round burst or single shots the gun doesnt jerk back and forth like it does in that animation. It jerks, but just not like it does there. In his animations, guns look like they have no weight to them at all, especially with how they jerk around during reloads.

I think it's also that the gun jerks right back into position after the recoil, which makes the gun look weightless

I guess it's so ideally you don't have the issue that the New Vegas one has where the gun doesn't finish its animation before re-firing, but I dunno, it doesn't really bug me either way.
It is, but dual wielding seems more impractical than anything in a post-apocalyptic world. Why waste ammo spraying bullets everywhere when you can have well-aimed shots that actually hit your target?
By that logic how does using a giant lizards fingers as a boxing glove make sense.
By that logic also, why would you ever even touch a minigun.
Meanwhile on the cover of an in-game Guns & Bullets:

I could see duel wielding being feasible in power armor.
By that logic also, why would you ever even touch a minigun.
I mean, it's heavy, it chews through ammo, why would I touch a minigun?
I haven't picked it up since the first time I saved Preston and his merry band of depression. Now I just run through the museum, head into the room, grab the bobblehead and robco fun, and head outside to grab the power armor.

Had the gun wasn't so easily obtainable in the game, I bet it wouldn't have such atrocious damage. At least give it some armor penetration. I mean, big guns along with some energy weapons like the plasma rifle used to be end game weapons that did extraordinary amounts of damage as expected. Now, they're borderline useless without modifying them and getting their respective damage perks, which are also atrocious.
Hell, I hate how much the weapons in 4 had been seperated by the damage perks. Pistols go into Gunslinger, Rifles go into Rifleman, Automatics go into Commando, and the big guns into Heavy Gunner, and I find it so unnecessary and stupid that you have to take a perk to get better with a specific gun with a specific configuration. NV done it the best by slimming it down to Guns and Energy Weapons, where it would affect an expected weapon group. Anything that shoots bullets go into guns, pistols, rifles, semi-auto, automatic, miniguns, etc., and anything that shoots laser or plasma or fire go into energy weapons like laser pistols and rifles, the laser RCW, plasma pistols and rifles, Gatling Laser, etc., and even explosive weapons like the missile launcher and the fatman got categorized into Explosives. All the guns were affected by one skill they were meant for, and it's a nice change from 3 that I miss in 4.

I agree that energy weapons and ballistic weapons should be separate, but I think different weapon types should still be different skills or perks. A guy that is a gunslinger with a pistol might not be as good with a rifle, and a guy good with a bolt action or semi-auto rifle might not be able to control the recoil of a gun firing in full auto.

But is it something that's really necessary to have in a game like fallout? I mean, I think they did a bad execution with how they did it here with doing more damage with a semi-auto pistol than a converted automatic pistol of the same base weapon because you invested into Gunslinger and it doesn't affect the automatic pistol, which is still technically a pistol, because it's automatic.
I just like it when a game keeps it simple when it comes to skills, no convoluted mechanics that get in the way of my fun.

You have a lot of explaining to do.

*sigh I hate seeing cool shit like this, I mean, where is this badass armour in the game eh.

I guess its just down to personal preference then because I like being able to specialize in certain things in RPGs. Like my character in FO4 was really good with rifles, ok with pistols, but not that great when it came to automatic weapons. If it was the way it was in FO3 or NV, he would have been equally good with all three.
I do agree the execution was bad, but that's more to do with the execution of the weapon crafting, because through that a pistol or a semi auto rifle could become fully automatic and then became governed by another perk.
I really want a new Fallout game. I played 4 a lot but mostly because it was simple and addictive, it didn't really feel like an FO title at the core.
I could play NV again but I feel like I'd end up playing the exact same run as I did the first time, good guy NCR-man
How easy is it to make a radio mod? I might want to make a Synthwave Radio mod, but I don't know if it's even somewhat easy or just plain hell.
anyone whose had a successful experience creating their own merchant...mind sending me a pm?
I commissioned a friend of mine to laser-engrave a picture of me and the girlfriend's cosplay onto a piece of wood for our three years anniversary. :)

So unless someone knows how to do this, I actually discovered that vendors cannot actually sell holotapes. Rip

Can you make a consumable item that, when used, adds the holotape to the player's inventory? Call it like a wrapped box or something.
[editline]e[/editline]
"Unopened holotape" and it's like you'd buy at a store, in the packaging.

I might be able to do this with the luncboxes. But I'll have to make 60 some odd separate lunchboxes for each song. I'll test it with one and see what happens. Thanks for the idea!
Edit: Hmm maybe not with the lunchboxes. What items in the game serve as something like this?

Can't vendors sell them in Fallout 3? I don't see it changing in Fallout 4 unless they did something weird.
edit: nevermind, thinking of static items and not notes. you could just make an item that, when bought, gives you the holotape and deletes the item

Why not purchase the holotapes from a computer? Like an old pre-war vending machine, but for music, and it loads them straight to the Pipboy? Explain it way like some janky "plug your device into this thing and it'll copy it over" I dunon
