I genuinely want to know what kind of thought process goes through a mind to turn radscorpions into lawnmowers:

The same guy has a wide variety of weird shit, including (but not limited to) filling the Institute with bags of meat, turning the BoS into a baseball team, and changing craft-able turrets into cats:

can you do that in nv?
didn't think so
TIL oversized creatures are affected by fall damage.
I went to go fuck up a legendary deathclaw with grognaks axe and after 2 swings in vats he flew 100 meters straight up.
He died immediately upon impact.

Actually, there are no whores in Fallout 4 while New Vegas has 2 casinos and a dedicated brothel full of them. And no, you can't bribe Curie for the romance dialogue.
New Vegas: 1 Fallout 4: 0 Dawnguard: -10000000
HEAVY WEAPON STORAGE IN POWER ARMOR!

Also junk/melee weapons.
You can call in your power armor with power armor delivery mod, jump in, and your suddenly holding a minigun... feels great.

Not only did they bring back some characters from Fallout 3, but they also brought back an infamous Fallout 3 bug, nice.
And thus my adventures in F:NV come to an end, damn that was a good game
just dropped some money on a good gaming laptop, it should be able to play fallout 4 on not-shitte settings
still waiting for it though

Fallout: New New Vietnam
As much as I trust JSawyer, this looks a little sketch
the feeling when NV came out two years after 3, but we won't get another Fallout on this engine this year :(

unless surprise e3 announcement but I doubt it. Beth / Obsidian both busy with other projects it seems.

for which game?
for which game?
I dont know an Fallout game owned by Bethesda Softworks
I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know of a mod that uses the hold to charge function on a gauss rifle but it's implemented into a laser musket? So you'd hold down left click/fire button and it will automatically but slowly increase the fusion cell count upto whatever crank/charge you've modded it to. As much as I like the laser musket, it starts to get annoying when you have to keep on mashing R to crank.

I think now ether. And sure not New Vegas due of how game left with some bad bugs.
As much as I'm still hoping for a new Obsidian Fallout, Fallout: New Vegas was the very reason Obsidian Entertainment decided to cut off their ties with big publishers such as Bethesda and had to make a grand return with a kickstarted Pillars of Eternity in order to have the resource to do their own games.
I can't honestly see them coming in contact with Bethesda again after the NV incident
there was no NV """"incident"""""
why do people keep spreading this
In a now-semi-famous contract incident, Obsidian agreed to produce the game as contracted by Bethesda. Bethesda included a provision for a very, very large bonus in the contract if the game scored a specific score on Metacritic. The game scored literally one point less than the agreed upon score, and Obsidian was essentially screwed out of the majority of their paycheck for the development of the game, in addition to running themselves absolutely ragged getting it out by the release date, in a buggy state that they were then not allowed to completely fix. Needless to say, Obsidian has shied away from big-name producers ever since, with their next announced project, Pillars of Eternity, being self-published and funded through Kickstarter, and South Park: The Stick of Truth having a much more lenient development process.
Though it is worth noting that the entire development team at Obsidian still has a good working relationship with Bethesda and has repeatedly stated they would be happy to do another Fallout game, with lots of enthusiasm. This incident may have made them more cautious in business dealings, but for Fallout its Doing It for the Art.
everything on TVTropes is someone's opinion
and, as it says, they still have a good relationship
it wasn't an incident, it was just business
I love Obsidian but they have always been pretty terrible at negotiating contracts TBH. They tend to let publishers kick them around more than they need to.
I mean it's in the contract that they had to meet that score to get the bonus, the fact they were off by one point isn't Bethesda's fault
If they were really pushed to release it in a buggy state then that might raise some questions but as Janus said they should've negotiated a more reasonable time frame knowing their staff and their working capacity.
iirc the time frame was non-negotiable as Beth wanted to get the game out before Skyrim's annoucement so the two games wouldn't affect each other's sales
probably the most they could've gotten was a month
I think the biggest shame with the short deadline on New Vegas is how truncated the Legion got. They did admirably with how little time they actually had, considering.
I loved how each faction in NV was so fleshed out, and had so many little subplots and you could choose whatever side you wanted.
Wish we got that again, but bigger.
