I feel like vault 88's just way to big.
The navagation map or whatever for settlers in v88 is way too small and its a damn shame. Makes all the other spaces in the vault besides rhe main area feel useless if i cant make them habitable.
:snip: i didnt read properly
Say the save mod mentions NVSE, on the instructions it mentions launching the game directly from a .exe, will I be able to simply use the Steam launcher?
No, you have to launch it from nvse.exe. But don't worry, it still launches via Steam and you get all the Steam overlay stuff. All you have to do is click a different .exe file instead of launching it directly through Steam.

I just snipped it lol
But I did install the extender and all of its .dlls and I was able to boot the game with the Steam launcher and NVSE too
Final question though, will I keep my saves after I install CASM? And how will I know if the mod is running or not?

I gave up on Vault 88 because settlers just spawned outside in the "negative space" of the vault anyway.
Has anyone tried building a city down there ala Little Lamplight? Does that work better for the settlers navigation?

I spent hours creating a subway market city and slums in v88
and all the settlers just sat around the main entrance way :/ major disappointment

You could try spreading their beds around, so they go to them at night, then wake up and use whatever is closest to them.

Maaaaan. I wanted to build a main trading city in the main section and some little villages down the other tunnels, but it sounds like a waste of time if that's the case.

It really is, it's all just window dressing that the stupid fucking inhabitants will ignore, get stuck in shit or, just stand around in the same place and stare at you, occasionally going to the designated Bar area.
It's really not worth creating something that you actually give a damn about in the settlement system, you can create something really fucking cool, but everything else about the settlement system, the fact that it's hollow as fuck being one of them and the fact the Settlers are shit at maneuvering, or even attempting to get to places half the time just sucks what little fun the system has out of it, i mean the system is shallow enough as is, but you really notice just how shallow it is when you start building shit and you really look at it, you are just building neat looking buildings without a purpose, your settlers will treat it like it's nothing, you can pretty them up, but in the end it doesn't really matter, it's a hollow shell, with hollow "people"
The only reason you would ever build something cool, is if you want to build it for yourself, building shit for your brain dead zombie settlers is a waste of bloody time.
Yeah when I was playing fallout 4 I would always build these intricate shanty towns, with stuff like sleeping areas tucked away wherever there was room (under the stairs, in little hidden nooks, little boltholes for the guards on my walls to sleep in while remaining at their posts).
Never ever saw any of it get used. The settlers would always prefer to stand in one or two designated places (even if those places had since been built on so they were just clipping through the floors) or all clump up in a shapeless blob around the bar (but not in a way where they actually looked like they were visiting the pub)
thankfully i am not affected by the w10 anniversary crash ive heard but ill keep these mods in consideration if anything goes wrong
i will install the save one though
The anti-crash mod isn't for the Windows 10 crash, it's just for general crashing you're likely to experience. YUP is similar. I recommended them because all they do is make the game less buggy and broken.
As for your other post about CASM, you can keep your old saves when you use CASM, it's just that any saves made after CASM is installed will use CASM instead. It also autosaves at regular intervals and will display a notification when it does.
Has the lever action fix mod been reported to cause any hiccups or performance loss ? It is a permanently running script after all.
As cool as having pump action shotguns sounds if it causes the game to slowly die a cancerous death I don't think it'd be too worthwhile.

You do know the game already has a fuckload of permanently running scripts, specially when you include the DLC that introduces a load that shouldn't be permanently running but due to glorious "it just werks" logic they stay running. It wont make a bat of difference.

I am aware of the amount of scripts that run in the back, which is exactly why I'm wary of mods adding even more scripts.
It won't make much of a difference alone but it may just stop working when brought along other mods which is ultimately why I'm worried.
If it has zero impact and works perfectly even in a heavily modded game then good, I'll be glad to add pump shotguns to my armory.

It wont make any difference, even if the script stops working the way the new script engine handles it will instantly relaunch it, FO4 doesn't handle them like how Skyrim and the other previous games do, where if it fails it takes everything with it.
That's good to know. Haven't paid much attention to fallout 4's modding scene as of late, I'm satisfied with how things work on my end.

Looks just as good, if not better (not counting the casing issues), than New Vegas's implementation.
That's really all I'm looking for.

A bit better without the bug where moving would not allow you to shoot for several seconds, but you can't interrupt the reload anymore.

3rd person is bugged out where you can't move, but otherwise its a really nice mod, he said he'll fix the bug in the next week or so.

Well, it's hideous, and the animations are awful. War Daddy really needs practice animating, everything he's done so far sucks.
Well, it's hideous, and the animations are awful. War Daddy really needs practice animating, everything he's done so far sucks.
What's wrong with those animations?
What's wrong with those animations?
Looks super stiff, mostly.
I wouldn't go as far as saying they're "awful" but they're definitely not great
It annoys me how much pumping is involved in most videogame shotguns.
Loaded one shell after firing and chambering another shell? Pump it. So much as unholster the weapon? Rack that shit.
I dunno dood, pumping shotguns is pretty fucking cool
Looks super stiff, mostly.
I mean to be fair that's kind of how shooting a real shotgun is, the actions on guns tend to require a lot of force to work properly so they're gonna look a bit stiff.
I dunno dood, pumping shotguns is pretty fucking cool
Literally nothing more satisfying than hearing that meaty chu-chick noise
The stock firing sound effect bothers me more than the somewhat clunky animations, to be perfectly honest.

The nice thing about Fallout mods is that at least, once you install it, you can just browse to the data folder and slot in one that isn't shit garbage.
