iirc radroaches are the "default" npc race, so if a mod fucks up real bad they'll turn into roaches
I was aware of that, but in hundreds of hours of play I've only ever seen it happen to this one guy. Which is why I suspected it was a Minutemen related mod. Well, that and the ridiculous outfits all the other Minutemen were in.
does anyone remember there being a teddy bear activator in the middle of the out-of-map area that nobody knew what it did?
did that turn out to be anything?
Anyone have a mirror for the Nuclear Reloaded mod ? I really like it and it's a good alternative to Resurrection, which exaggerates too much the flora overgrowth imo.
For some reason, it was removed from the nexus. Shame.

Well that explains why I've been running into super mutant roaches for the past year or so

"You hit like a radroach!"
You know what annoys me to an unreasonably petty degree? The billboards for the Silver Rush, "Fully charged with no extra charge". What could possibly be infuriating about that, you might ask. Well, it's because I think "fully charged at no extra charge" sounds better as a slogan to say that your prices are fair, "with no extra charge" sounds like you're meticulous at the precise amount of charge each battery puts out. Might be good for the weapons, but not really all that important in marketing.

and that's why obsidian was rightfully denied the bonus from bethesda i hope it teaches them a lesson in slogans
So something that haven't seen discussed/can't find discussion of is the obvious tsunami damage in the north of the Commonwealth, near Recon Bunker Theta.
There are cars and other debris in trees, boats on land and in the hills, and the land is otherwise torn up and rocky.
Is that ever explained ingame or in the art book or anywhere? I find it really interesting that there is all this evidence of a localized megatsunami but nobody seems to have noticed it at all. The closest thing to discussion on this that I've found is one person explaining that it was all because of behemoths, but the sheer scale of everything and the amount of boats scattered around just scream tsunami to me.
Speaking of dart guns, you could do the most forgotten weapon in the Fallout series; the needler pistol.
[t]http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/6/66/Fo2_Needler_Pistol.png/revision/latest?cb=20110427234854[/t]
It's an odd improvised weapon that hasn't appeared since FO2 and no one ever seems to mention.
Isn't the syringer rifle meant to be an homage to that?
And I think Fallout 3 had a craftable dart gun, no?

It never occurred to me the phenomenon was localized, I just saw a car in a tree at one point and figured it was either physics fucking up or a car ripped off the road by the blastwave

No, that actually makes sense, because there's a distress call you can get if you activate the relay tower in that area that leads you to a boat beached on an inland lake, but the distress call make it sound like they're out to see. I always thought that was weird, but that combined with the tree-ed cars Sonador mention, it absolutely makes sense that some tsunami or other big storm surge came through at some point.
Where the fuck is that revolver even going though?
Well with The Nexus's track record, probably here:

Are there any mods that just improve companion comments? I don't want them shut up entirely, but for example, Cait commenting "they built this place to protect something, we need to find out what it is" after leaving Vault 95 made my eye twitch.

Quite curious about this. Cant find anything about it on google.

There are some boats and debris in the middle of some of the streets of Boston next to the coast, and also that really big beached vessel those raiders are on. Not to mention there are a few areas that are partially flooded around the map.
Does anyone feel like playing Survival is impossible without power armor?
Not because of defense or anything, but because the extra carryweight provided by power armor is a godsend.

Not really. I went about 45 lvls before I started ot use it. Not like it matters in survival anyways. You're still going to get 1 shotted

Deep pocketed everything. I end up with more carry capacity out of power armour than in it. Power armour is for when I know I can't avoid damage, or I'm going into radioactive areas.

The Needler Pistol is very well likely based on actual needle / flechette guns while Bethesda just wanted some really fun stealth toy / status effect weapons to use and it was just coincidental that all three weapons happen to use hypodermic needles as ammunition (the Syringer is still clearly an offshoot of the Dart Gun, though).
Not really. I went about 45 lvls before I started ot use it. Not like it matters in survival anyways. You're still going to get 1 shotted
Nah, with power armor, I was only able to be 3 shotted instead :vs:

My build wasn't tailored towards strength, which is why I think I was struggling.
It's been a long, long while since I've played Fallout 4. Is Survival any better? Are enemies still going to kill me with the same efficiency as a Fat Man while using a Pipe Rifle, all while surviving two shotgun blasts in vanilla?
Or am I going to need to install ten mods to adjust the damage value so the enemies take ten times more damage as do I? :V
So I've been playing with the Survival rebalance mod called Horizon and if anyone else uses it, what are your thoughts?
Myself I feel like the mod is way too ambitious for how Fallout 4 works and also way too strict with about just any supplies. Despite invested into extra ammo finding perk and for weak enemies strictly using melee weapons, one bigger encounter is just about enough to completely drain me of about everything. Fuck, even survival horror games lets you go off of a leash every once in a while if you are smart with your supplies. This game doesn't really care for that, here's a random legendary mutant hound hidden in a group of super mutants, fuck you.
And stuff like this keeps appearing. The way you can play this game is even more streamlined than ever, with the stealth sniper being pretty much the only way. Wooo, fun.
Iunno, there's much more about this mod what irks me. Just wondered what you guys thought about it if you played with it.

A freind told me about a survival mod that was stupid hard, it didnt even let you pick the fucking food growing on plants.
Is this it?
A freind told me about a survival mod that was stupid hard, it didnt even let you pick the fucking food growing on plants.

Yep, that's it. Also the picking fruits from plants doesn't work only in settlements where amount food produced is consumed by the same amount of settlers and the rest unconsumed goes to settlement storage. You can still harvest wild plants and fruits.
Actual healing items are pretty much impossible to find and expensive as fuck. You pretty much need to get a perk to craft fucking bandages which heals stupidly slow and cannot be used while in combat.
Fast traveling works on the "from settlement to another settlement" basis but you need to craft some stupid shit for that which you need also perk for and I still have no idea how that shit works. Oh and it overrides default fast traveling so you can't just get a mod that enables that be done with it.
Enemies can shoot at you for days but you at most find 2 .38 rounds on their corpse. Ammo containers more than not have only junk in them.
Fire pretty much takes away over half of your health so if the enemy flings a Molotov at you or has a flamer and you are a bit hurt, you'll die. Think of Pyro from TF2 on steroids.
The list goes on and on and on.

So it's Misery mod for STALKER but abandons all pretense of realism and just goes for "how unabashedly difficult can we make this game for absolutely no reason other than to make it even less fun and as annoying as possible?"
Thanks, sorry I don't have Battleborn yet.
Neither you, nor anyone else.
Like, i played the shit out of Misery. I mean, yeah, it was like smashing your balls with a hammer difficult, but it at least felt THEMATIC. It added a ton of content. There was a nugget of realism in there.
But that? That's Smashing Your Balls With a Super Sledge difficult. For no reason other than that masochism isn't quite a strong enough word for what they feel. More like concentrated, purified self-hatred and way too much fucking time on your hands.
how do I move the overseer's desk after placing it in Vault 88 in Fallout 4? The overseer doesn't want to leave the chair, so I can't move it.
nvm just melee'd her enough times to go hostile, and then yielded and quickly moved the desk before she could sit back in it.
just click cmd + shift + 3
Honestly sounds too much of a pain to play. Like, who buys/plays a shooting game to not be able to shoot anything?
[sp]Pacifist runs of Fallout: New Vegas, I guess[/sp]

"its the dark souls of game mods"
Sounds like it has the same problem as Dust and (presumably) Frost where ammo is super rare, but NPCs magically have infinite bullets to spam at you. And when you kill them you get fuck all.
It would be neat if mods like that that made bullet much much rarer also made melee enemies way more common and made it to where only maybe raider leaders and higher ranking gunners had guns.
[editline]21st February 2017[/editline]
Make it more like mad Max where all you have is a sawn off with two shells, but everyone else is either equal or worse off.
I'm sure someone in the wasteland has worked out how to make bullets again or god forbid, energy cells.
