Maybe have a script that changes which scope is attached to the weapon?

You're doing gods work
Then clearly there needs to be a re-balance mod, I recommend the name realistism mod?
Rebalance mods can't fix how boring power armor is.
[editline]a[/editline]
You're going to need like, a melee overhaul and killmove mod and other shit to make it as badass as it's supposed to be
Still can't believe there isn't a power armour killmove where you crush your enemy's head like a melon.

Next fallout features D44M gameplay when in power armour.
So I got into some talking with friends about new vegas and I remembered the grenade machinegun, why has no one made a fo4 version of it yet :c
Next fallout features D44M gameplay when in power armour.
I don't know why but I've imagined the Doom Marine armor as Power Armor for FO4 before, with full / heightened mobility rather than being a giant tank.
Are there any quest mods/hard location mods that reward the chinese stealth armor? I kinda want it, but I want it to feel rewarding to get.

Evidently, they were working on one to get it, but they didn't want to make people wait, so they just released the suit as is.
See, It's obvious that power armour took a massive leap forward in comparison to what it was in prior games. My problems are the following:
-The core shouldn't run out so easily. Like we're in a future that had flying cars, right? If you can power flying cars for an amount of time that isn't upsettingly small, then you can power armour for a long period also. Then again, the bombs fell because of an energy crisis. But there's just a lot more characters using power armour than there should be if every energy cell dies so quickly. (also, it doesn't use power if you fast travel/provide for an NPC, which is bollocks.
-You can't loot the frame off a corpse. Also, I've never seen a raider take their power armour off to go to bed or whatever, does it happen?
-Raider armour stuff would've made more sense if stuff like cages and whatnot was added to armour, rather than raiders having their own thing. If raiders are incompetent mechanics that can't repair the outer armour of a T45, why do they continue to maintain the more complex inner mechanical parts?
-Disappearing parts rather than a 'broken' part appearance kinda sucks.
-The T60 rubs me the wrong way. It looks real nice and all, but it just seems disrespectful (beth wanted another 45 because they don't like the 50) and not well justified. I see it as a dick move.

I don't recall Fallout ever having flying cars. You're right that there were cars that were nuclear powered, but I'm pretty sure that they still worked on wheels. And besides, the core running out so quickly is more of a gameplay thing than a lore thing. There are buildings and stuff that are still powered by fusion cores until you remove them, after all.
I think that you not being able to loot the frame is just due to how the game handles power armour frames (seeing as they are counted as a separate race I believe). I think that mods that have tried to make it so that you can loot corpses have just ended up with the bodies within looking broken, unless they use scripts to change the race.
The T-60 power armour looks so similar to the T-45 because it was originally designed to be a reimagining of that, but they decided it ended up being different enough for it to be its own class. I agree that the lore for it could have been better (such as it being between T-45 and T-51, or it being a post-war creation made by the Brotherhood), but I don't know where the idea of Bethesda not liking the T-51 comes from.

I feel like Bethesda wants Fallout to be associated with them and not FO1/2 and Interplay. The T-51 is sort of the poster child of the original Fallout games. If I was Bethesda I would definitely want my game to promote my designs as opposed to someone elses. Even if I did own the IP. Though why they didn't do something like have T-51 be a rare end game armor instead of having the X-01 appear at all and having the X-01 appear at all seems to be just pandering to people who didn't like the X-02 appearing in FO3. A lot of the design decisions for FO4 seem to be left exclusively to what Bethesda thought was "Rule of Cool" as opposed to what would cool, interesting, and fit inside the universe.
On the topic of T-60, it feels more like it could fit into the lore, but would require a stat change and a bit of explanation on the terminals. Basically while West-Tek was fucking around with the T-51b suit, the U.S went "OH SHIT THIS IS TAKING TOO LONG" and got another company to start retrofitting T-45 suits. The result being a significantly bulkier suit of armor that protects a lot more. Of course it'd be inferior to the T-51 armor, but that'd be a given if we're going into the lore fitting mode.
Also, I'd love if BoS soldiers actually used armor other than T-60. Have some with T-45 and T-60 spliced together, while the soldiers who were out in the field for a lot longer than normal have Raider, and maybe if you're really lucky a T-51 or X-01 piece on the commander of that squad. It'd give a nice variety of parts to work with for creating a garage of power armor to show off like it's Grand Theft Auto, but instead of multi-million dollar cars that exist only to masturbate over it's a military grade armored exoskeleton that could very much murder you just as badly as a car if you do something wrong.
P. sure there is a mod to rename armors and change terminal logs, altering T-60 to T-48.
It works well enough
To be fair, the T-45 was a "classic" Fallout armor. It started life in Van Buren.
So I've been playing FNV for a while but now it seems I am having a annoying glitch where the fps is always around 28.5 or so. When i play the game, it feel more like 15 fps. I even turned off all my mods to see if it was some mod causing it to do it. Anyone have any ideas on what could cause this? The only thing I recently edited in my config was bBackground Mouse=1 because the mouse stopped working.

do you have any long/short term plans to do more fictional weapons, like the crude rifle? I've always wanted to see more fictional but non-junky weapons like the fo4 'assault rifle'
MP7?
Obviously it's a Famas.
X01's shouldn't be one-off artifacts, but I think they could've done better than to put them on the leveled lists. Maybe a certain group could've had them. Maybe a merchant could be selling them.
The T60 should've been something like T4x or maybe T45x. Or maybe even an older model such as a T40 or T3x.
I really liked the hellfire set from 3.
It would've been nice for some more customisation, or at least the ability to tack on a load of crap. Put a mutant skull on the shoulder, Put a bunch of blades around each fist, wear a mantle and a loincloth, put a hat on your helmet, or horns, or something. Add extra metal plates to stuff.
Like the raider armour (In the original game) looks like a cool and unique, if haphazard, attempt at making your own power armour, and then you find it a few more times and the coolness it could've had is lost.

my autism for customization is why I hate using power armour
shit like that would have been fantastic, even like stripped down variants of the parts that had less armour as a lower grade option would have added to variance
I'd probably hack the models together if I know how to get that shit into the fucking game :v:

is there a mod for fallout 4 that lets you mix and match clothing pieces? sort of like tailor maid for 3 and nv or in skyrim where you can put on whatever gloves or boots with whatever armor

I think Armorsmith might be the closest to tailor maid right now.

IIRC (based on assumptions) there is a car recharging station in the middle of an empty bit of road in FO4 west (?) of the corvega plant, this would suggest that even the cells in cars acted a lot more like power armor cells.
I'm not sure if its just that Fallout New Vegas is optimised like a donkey in a windtunnel or I'm just vastly overestimating how intensive my mod list is but New Vegas for me is a stuttery mess.
