I really don't like the direction some mods have taken with Skyrim and especially with Fallout 4 where what used to be simple quality of life upgrades now require a dozen more mods to function properly, bloating your game with shit you don't want, sometimes duplicating features and making it even more tedious to sort out.
What mods are you refering to?
When I finally start looking around for a power armor mod that makes it well, power armor, there's a maintenance on the nexus:hammered:
Im fine with mod installation complexity but only if it results in a better quality or more compatible mod.
What mods are you refering to?
Weaponsmith and Armorsmith Extended, for instance. The former being the worse offender of the two, with a fucking gigantic list of requirements. Then there's all the mods that require AWKCR, even when it seems unnecessary. Legendary Modification is standalone but its DLC update for some reason requires it. Crafting Workbenches needs AWKCR, but doesn't implement itself properly and causes duplication of some crafting tables. On top of this, more and more armor and weapon mods need AWCKR or, even worse, armorsmith/weaponsmith extended to function properly. This creates an issue with consistency where some weapons and armor become craftable but not others, compatibility/implementation mods are not always available and when they are they can create even more issues.
So even if we moved out of the experimental phase of Fallout 4 modding, it'd still be a clusterfuck?
Would be fairly simple to remake most of the bloated QoL mods
Would be fairly simple to remake most of the bloated QoL mods
Trouble is either getting permission from the original mod authors to make it an alternative .esp, or convincing everyone to use it instead if you make it a separate mod.
Trouble is either getting permission from the original mod authors to make it an alternative .esp, or convincing everyone to use it instead if you make it a separate mod.
The selling point itseld would be less unneeded bullshit, which Im sure would sell it for alot of people
The selling point itseld would be less unneeded bullshit, which Im sure would sell it for alot of people
The other problem is all these existing mods already rely on these bloated-ass QoL mods, so the mod authors (most of which have probably already moved on) would have to refit it to the new mods. I feel like it's a necessity eventually anyway though, better it happens sooner rather than later.
I have weaponsmith extended and it makes all the guards in Diamond City hold invisible weapons that fires nothing. When I first entered the city, I had to shoot the guy myself after watching a guard shoot blanks out of his hands for 10 minutes.

That and if you want it to be usable by everyone you have to send the original mod creator a name of the mcm xml to add to the default list that shows up in the MCM.
I encourage FP's nexus modders to start banning anyone with a anime or waifu avatar from downloading their mods just to prove a point about how the ban system is stupid
I've been permabanned, banned and ip banned from the nexus. That's a pretty big accomplishment
I encourage FP's nexus modders to start banning anyone with a anime or waifu avatar from downloading their mods just to prove a point about how the ban system is stupid
if no one bats an eye at "banned for lore monger" i don't think they'll get the message from that
I've been permabanned, banned and ip banned from the nexus. That's a pretty big accomplishment
What did you manage that accomplished that feat?
Why are so many people on the Nexus such petty weirdos?
Why are so many people on the Nexus such petty weirdos?
Bunch of people isolated in an echo chamber away from the folks who use what they develop (a vocal minority of whom are obnoxious, needy morons) edit: and some are just weird
I've been permabanned, banned and ip banned from the nexus. That's a pretty big accomplishment
Tell us your campaign trail, O Veteran of a thousand wars.
What did you manage that accomplished that feat?
I'll take a wild guess. He probably commented something that could be interpreted as "not positive."
One of my favorite comments was someone asking something along the lines of "Are you releasing this on Xbox?" And as I always do that since I wanna get as wide of a reach as possible I said "Yes" He then proceeded to call me a "Traitor" I guess because.. Muh PC master race etc? Nexus users just weird sometimes. v:downs:v

Make it 24k, and they'll complain it doesn't have tits. If they don't want to eat the food you make then fuck 'em. At least we still love you.
if no one bats an eye at "banned for lore monger" i don't think they'll get the message from that
I see my reputation proceeds me
I see my reputation proceeds me
i was confused as to which thread this was again
I'll take a wild guess. He probably commented something that could be interpreted as "not positive."
Not drinking their cool aid is more like it. The mods there are so anally re tentative that you can stick a piece of coal up their ass and it'd come out as a stick. DarkOne or whatever the hell is his name is isn't any better either.
What did you manage that accomplished that feat?
Making multiple accounts for one. I have like 20 different ones right now so it seems like they don't really give a shit about that. Other times it was admitting to warez ( this was around FO3 and possibly NV were released ) and if i recall correctly.. another time was saying something along the lines of "does this feel kinda pedo-ish to anyone else". It was a comment on a mod that had little kids in swimsuits and other pedo-y stuff in it. What's funny is they didn't bother to give me any warnings at all ( admitting to warez is pretty understandable ) for the mod comment. They just banned me right there and called it a day.
Why are so many people on the Nexus such petty weirdos?
At first since the launch I was pretty tolerant of those weird sexualized mods girls dressed in skimpy clothing but when all the body mods came out and there's like at least one skimpy clothing in the front page I started to get a little irritated and wondering what's up with the balloon tits? It's just a big peeve, it's weird because I wasn't annoyed when F3 and NV had them. Maybe they weren't as prominent?
we talking about the nexus? I remember when I got banned on 7 different accounts for "arguing with the moderators" after someone got banned for "bringing up religion" by saying "god damn" and I mentioned that "god damn" is a secular colloquialism. they banned my main account and all 6 of the alts I made
