I think the point is that Kojima has gotten way worse with the fanservice as the series progressed. It was fine in MGS 1-3 because it was either understated (like Sniper Wolf), tied to an interesting gimmick (like identifying disguised Meryl), or tied to the story (like Eva seducing Snake to let his guard down). MGS4 started getting worse with Rose's jiggle physics easter egg and the B&B Corps, but those can still be ignored for the most part. Peace Walker had the really weird part where you could x-ray through her poncho in her introduction cutscene for no reason when the player still thought she was 16. MGSV is by far the worst with it though with the Quiet rain scene, which is the cringiest cutscene I've ever seen in a video game, and that one part where the camera zooms into her boobs literally right after the attempted rape scene. Those and her character design itself are indefendable imo
I thought the PW zoom in was to show the marks she had? There's also the boob touching in Snatcher
Could just be the writer's interpretation of it. Unless said writer confirms via twitter or wherever that they were told that, I wouldn't bank on it.
Maybe, but without seeing in the trailers any kind of clues that make someone thinking that the babies are in reality robots, I will stick with my opinion.
Plus if indeed are robots, it make more sense for the controversity the game might bring.
If you think about it, having a baby get killed by an army of animated skeleton soldiers, isn't the best in the eye of the general public.
But now Kojima can say "don't worry people! They are Robot Babies. Not real ones. So don't feel sorry for them."

And don't forget the Photo-Mode when you fighting the Beauty Beasts in MGS4.......
Ok, maybe Kojima IS a pervert after all. At least I hope the new female lead is sexy but with a purpose.
But I digress. I still enjoy Kojima's games as they are.
Since we are all blind men trying to guess the shape of things that never were, I guess I'll join too.
BREAKING NEWS!: According to my educated guess, Death Stranding will be a puzzle game with pay-2-play business model.
I challenge anybody here to disprove my unfounded theory. Just try

Ok, if this is real, it is a MASSIVE LEAK.
At some point it say even the ending I think. I don't even dared to read feature thankfully.
so...
This Picture may contain MASSIVE SPOILERS!!! Don't read if you want to play normally the game!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/DGmcujL.png[/t]
I feel like I've sinned for reading this, but I hope it's somewhat true.
A cast like that with a story that weaves directly into gameplay is more than worth waiting for.

It doesn't spoil the true ending/post-credits but yeah people should avoid this on the off-chance it's true.

Is it possible to have a summary of what it says without any of the story spoilers, incase it is true?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/DGmcujL.png[/t]
It's from November and the guy already knew Del Toro and Mikkelsen were on board.
It also mentions "a world full of infected individuals and machines" which was made much more clear in the second trailer.
So I really want to think this is real.

Gameplay-wise, it's a 3rd person shooter action/adventure game, with horror and stealth elements. There are many enemies throughout the game, and your ultimate goal is to eliminate some key individuals.

I read this, and despite the massive "potential" spoilers, I still want to play this game.
The hard part will be waiting for the PC port, because I don't have a PS4...:worried:
Actually, what if [sp]this "leak" is part of Kojima's Ruse Cruise...[/sp]
"Release date: Q4 2018"
Kojima said the game would be released before 2019.
To be honest, my hype kinda puffed down when Ive read that. I guess ambiguity is a great seller.

Sounds like pretty much what i expected, really. Could you give a summary of what it says about the setting without the ending/important story spoilers as well?

At the start of the game, you wake up from a coma (as Norman Reedus) and find yourself in a strange world populated by weird creatures and machines. As your baby is taken from you, you start a journey into this eerie universe, looking for the people who took your child, and those who seem to rule this dimension.
[editline]13th December 2016[/editline]
I expect the beginning of the game will be very similar to the hospital opening of MGS5: scary and confusing.

I was sort of hoping it wouldn't end up being some sort of alternate universe/dimension thing. Something like timelines intersecting or some sort of terrible event causing all these things to happen in the 'real' world would be pretty good, but a "It's just a weird universe where all these strange things happen!" sounds a bit disappointing if that's what it's suggesting. If it goes for that then there doesn't need to be an explanation for things like the undead soldies and living tank, which would be bad.

A Strange world could just be a saying in that "The world he wakes up to is not the same as it was when he fell into the coma."

The impression given by Loadingue using the words "Eerie universe" and "rule this dimension" imply it's not changed, it's actually different, though.

Hey, I'm not the leaker, I could give the wrong impression :v:
It said the main character is (supposedly) from our world/dimension, so he's like a stranger walking through hell. And from I've read, I think the comparison with hell is appropriate on different levels.

essentially the entire game's story is a rip off or heavily influenced by a Soviet science fiction novel called the time wanderers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Time_Wanderers
called the Ludens. They claim to have chosen this name for themselves as a derivative of the Russian word lyudi "humans", "people" with several semi-jocular allusions such as the popular Latin phrase Homo Ludens "the Playing Man"
Kojima released this statement when Kojima Productions V2 was established
We are Homo Ludens (Those who play).
From the moment we enter this world, we instinctively invent ways to have "fun," and share our inventions with those around us. We are not asked to do this, nor do we need reasons to create. It is simply who we are.
We find one another and compete with one another. We laugh together and cry together; all while playing together. Our experiences bind us and liberate us. To share our most valuable experiences, we create stories, invent tools, and evolve the art of play. Play has been our ally since the dawn of civilisation.
"Playing" is not simply a pastime, it is the primordial basis of imagination and creation. Truth be told, Homo Ludens (Those who Play) are simultaneously Homo Faber (Those who Create).
Even if the earth were stripped of life and reduced to a barren wasteland, our imagination and desire to create would survive--beyond survival, it would provide hope that flowers may one day bloom again. Through the invention of play, our new evolution awaits.
Kojima Productions -- We are Homo Ludens. We are those who play.
Hideo Kojima
Homo Ludens is unusual enough of a phrase that it's plausible that two are connected
Didn't Kojima say the Homo Ludens thing is just for Kojipro and has nothing to do with Death Stranding? I might be wrong though.
It's a nice pun of sorts, ludens was a sorta streamlined form of the Russian word "lyudi", which means "humans". "Ludus" is also the latin word for game. Kojima used it to refer to Kojima Productions because his team is gamedev supermen.
"We are Homo Ludens (Those who play)."
Glad to see that 'leak' seems like it might have been proven false.

I'm actually really glad because when I heard this rumor I gave a longggggg fucking sigh because I feared that there would just be a lot of moments where it's just blatant easy to guess symbolism.

Not that I believe the leak, but that tweet isn't really proving it false. It even says right next to the part he highlights in the 'leak' that it isn't the characters real name. He is right about the rest though, the whole thing smells of bullshit.
I dont know about you guys but i get the impression that Kojima's been planning Death Stranding for some time now given how fast paced the project has seemed to be so far.

He probably spent like the last year of Metal Gear development thinking about it, since he was already getting booted and everything creative was mostly in place anyway.
Del Toro confirmed not to be creatively involved in Death Stranding, only features as an actor:
