That sound will haunt me at night.
Man I'm fucking done with this game for now. Lost a shotgun and two pistols and died consecutively over 11 matches.
Fuck it.
What's to stop me from giving all my gear to my friend. Then just buying it back cheaper later with your proposed system?
Make it so that if you drop or discard the gear it doesn't get covered by insurance, only if actually taken from your corpse. Makes sense to me?
Nowhere did I say you could buy your gear back cheaper, either. You'd have to find the gear in mission or buy a similar piece of gear from scratch from a trader, meaning
1. You've spent money on the insurance.
2. You died and had your gear taken.
3. Insurance company can't recover or replace your gear (In car insurance terms it is a write off)
4. You pay an excess like you do with car insurance in an accident
5. Insurer pays you out the market value of the gear that was taken (eg AK74 25000 - 1200 (insurance) - 800 (excess) meaning you only end up being 23000 better off.
6. You go to a trader to buy a new AK74 but you only have 23000 so you can't just buy another one.
You see? You end up being penalized for fucking up, but you still actually get something back out of insuring your items, just not a 100% return.

I took my only AKS-74U into a Woods raid and when I spawned in there was a player standing behind me with a shotgun. Got blown away immediately. Since then, I've been trying to join raids and get an error 605 every damn time.

Invite a random into your group, once your name is highlighted in blue, you can join a game no problem.
Thanks, Sgt. That worked.
I had a few runs, all of which ended in me getting killed, and am far too salty to continue for tonight... I'll come back to it another day.
The last instance was when I had nothing but a hatchet equipped and some guy with a shotgun shot at me. I did the wiggle, but he just kept shooting. He nicked me with a few pellets, but missed with the majority, so I zig-zag ran towards him, and had the satisfaction of splitting his head open with my axe before his buddy took me out.
Anyone know what the 'cabin key' is for?
What up my dudes.

Each backpack has body armor too.

Those small shacks on Customs iirc

You've got to teach me to do whatever it is you do. I haven't leveled up a single vendor yet.
I recently just leveled my Peacekeeper to level 2 so I can finally get the MP5 but I am wanting to do Skier next but I don't get out of enough raids with loot to sale and even though hatchling runs on factory are the meta I find that boring and I don't want to die thousands of times to maybe just make it out a couple.
I'm hoping after a week or 2 goes by people might have enough loot to get out of the bare naked runs at least bring a mak or some pistol.
I've been afraid to take anything better than the kedr or pistols in a raid with me so far just because of the way the AI and desync is lately + my computer is pretty old so I take so long to load the map (still haven't joined the ssd gang) I am basically in the raid after everyone has a jump start on me.
I leveled up Skier by buying shotgun barrels and selling them back. If you look at the prices you can determine which will lose you the least amount of money in the transaction. This way levels up fast because you're getting money from buying it and then money from selling it back that both go towards the 1million total for level 3. I also sell all the gear (skav vest and any backpack) from scav runs to Skier
Would I be better off waiting to get into this game til it's a little less threadbare?

There are many balance issues that still need to be addressed, and I hear that there's eventually going to be one big overworld map connecting locations, player secret bases, etc.
It's a shame that most of you guys can't speak Russian, because there are plenty of advertisements and graffitis that made me laugh my ass off, like the advert "Help for alcohol addicts and meme addicts".

They need to fix the connectivity issues, there's horrible desync which is causing hatchet wielding naked guys (hatchlings) to be able to run up to you and kill you no problem, even if you dump a mag on them at point blank.
Does anyone know what the key to the reception room in the 2-story dorm building on customs is called and where one would find it? Through the window you can see there's like 2 grenade boxes and one large military style crate inside.
Killed a dude today on factory today and he was carrying all of his 200k starter rubles. Almost feel sorry for it if I wasn't sleeping on my 2+ million rubles.

That was everything I got from looting the guy.
Just got into the beta, the game feels pretty good so far. I really like how interactive the animations with everything are. Anyone else getting a no servers error, though? I only got to play by doing an offline PVE to try things out.

The servers today are especially bad. Most times they aren't like that.

You can "fix" the 605 no servers error by inviting a random player in the player list before the raid and waiting until your name turns blue, then pressing ready.
I just got the game and I'm looking up videos and trying to find an answer.
How do you know where to go to escape a level? Is there a map at all?

You can buy or find maps (They're pretty expensive, and pretty rare) but they function like the ones in DayZ - that is, they don't show where you are on them, and are often pretty abstract. But each map has designated extraction zones. You'll be pretty lost at first, but you'll learn the maps quickly through simple exploration. Keep the distant scenery in mind - Telephone wire towers, refinery chimneys, hills and other landmarks - all of them will help you navigate.
or you can use this

This game is brutal. The desync doesn't help either.
I've never made it to an exit. Those AI are like trained dogs.

I'm assuming they were AI because they never stopped screaming at me in that devil language.

Thanks, that worked!
After having played for a bit I think they should make the exits a bit more obvious, maybe flares or something distinctive so when you're getting close you know where to go. I ran around for awhile and just couldn't get my bearings enough to find anything, and you just eventually get shot from random chance of being there too long.
I think I need to do more offline to learn the maps better.

Extractions are impossible to find unless you know exactly where to go. I had to use a map and watch a Let's Play and only than I could find where to stand in 1 out of the 3 I went too.
I only know one extraction point in shoreline and another one at factory but it works for me so far.
That's probably all you really need, it's just getting to the point where you can remember one.
I also have two keys for dorm rooms at customs but I'm too afraid to go there because of the sheer amount of scavs.
