Region locking would at least remove the issue of firefights taking place in time vortexes... Although it could totally kill player numbers. These devs are being way too cocky, they're treating it like they're making the next battlefield. Region locking player groups should really just be an option rather than something that's forced. From what I've heard, Wildstar did region locking and the EU servers were used about as much as Anne Frank's Drumkit.

You dont have to be the next Battlefield, you just cant be a wildstar. A game which had population problem regardless
games like this are why games like interstellar marines don't stand a chance in hell the SAME engine but one looks like it came from like 2005
I had hopes for the game, but their extra stuff that comes with the game seems like it should be something in a mobile app. Pay more to increase resource amount, stash size, backpack size, and get better equipment from the start! I had interest as well. But this definitely seems like it will be a worse version of The Division. It may be better than Day Z, but the devs seem to want it to be more of a cash grab so they're offering whatever they can to make it seem like the higher prices are fair. I'll try it out if I get in, but I'm not paying for this game.

Overpriced, filled with little 'oh thats nice' trinkets for in-game use, and beta/alpha access being sold by tiers.
Oh look, another DayZ killer. I've learned my lesson from WarZ. I'm waiting for this to get released and have everyone lose their minds over the quality
this the game looks very promising and the inventory/looting is fantastic, but i'll wait on some reviews before i buy into it.
I really don't want it to be one of those "ruined potential by talented devs who don't know how the fuck to be consumer friendly" situations
Well I won 555 bucks from a $1 lottery ticket to pay back for the top tier pre-order. I'll take the bullet and play the alpha for you guys guaranteed. I really hope it's good id love it

I was hyped for that game until the actual gameplay videos came out.
You're implying the Division is good? Honestly it looks fucking shit. I was hyped for that game until the actual gameplay videos came out.
How does it look shit? The gameplay looks awesome. It's a third person shooter set in an open world New York, that's pretty awesome.
Also how could you have been hyped for it before gameplay videos came out? It was announced with a gameplay video.
Also how could you have been hyped for it before gameplay videos came out? Yeah sure it's open world but the multiplayer bit only takes place in a certain section of the map. It sounds cool in concept but upon seeing the gameplay it doesn't look that special.
The open pvp only takes place in a small few areas, but the coop is everywhere I think?
Yea. PvP will be in areas called The Dark Zone. Outside of that you can invite your friends to do PvE content that they will have.
Yeah, a gameplay video extremely different from what was later shown. Tarkov may still have potential to be equal, or better than The Division. But with The Division having a bigger game company (Massive/Ubisoft) backing it, it will have more to it. Also, I won't have to pay more for more inventory space/storage space. Which I think is completely stupid. All of that being said, I say wait till Beta, I doubt they'll have an NDA since it will be so big. Let better players show the potential of The Division.
I just can't trust Ubisoft. All the games they've released in the last 5 years are basically the same. I know the microtransactions in Assassin's Creed are just shortcuts and don't actually lock anything behind paywalls but still, microtransactions in a full £40 release is bullshit.
R6 Siege is p good, AC Syndicate seems to be a return to form for the series, and if the PC Support team for R6 Siege is anything to go by I think Ubi has a better looking future than a lot of people would think. They are going to keep shoveling out AC and Far Cry games because people like big dumb open world games with a lot of "content" (read: shit to destroy/loot) and not much real substance.
aka me i eat those games up
Rainbows Six Siege is in the same ballpark as Battlefront. Good but not a whole lot of content. It's the sort of game I wait to reach about £25 to buy (which I did like 30 minutes ago, R6 is down on Amazon for a bit by the way) Personally I'm not a fan of Syndicate, London doesn't feel like a good setting. It's got kick ass set pieces sure but the environment is really repetitive, borough's don't make for an interesting environment, even when you're free-running. The last AC game I really enjoyed was Black Flag because it did something different, with Unity it went straight back to same-old same-old. I was hopeful for primal but they've cocked that up. An owl that you can control and drop bombs from.... Ubisoft are becoming a joke in my opinion. I respect the people that put the work in but as with most of the industry, it's becoming more about money than making good games.
How does it look shit? The gameplay looks awesome. It's a third person shooter set in an open world New York, that's pretty awesome.
I have to agree it looks great. My only gripe would be the fact that it's being published by Ubisoft, which understandably scares the shit out of everyone. I love that the game is being developed by MASSIVE though. World in Conflict was an awesome game and I hope they pull the same kind of magic to make The Division a good game. I'm looking forward to seeing how Escape From Tarkov progresses as well. I don't have high hopes yet because we all know hopes get crushed quite easily, but the game looks really interesting nonetheless.
Rainbows Six Siege is in the same ballpark as Battlefront. Good but not a whole lot of content.
Bull. Shit. No way. R6 has plenty of content. 20 or so operators, 10 maps, 3 gamemodes. The gameplay itself adds to the content, as the destruction system makes sure that the maps are deformed in completely different ways each time. Then you have the team compositions which adds another layer of difference to each round. One thing I honest to god think you can't be complaining about with R6, is lack of content.
I noticed something interesting from the trailers: all vehicles have number 78 in their license plates, and the number 78 is a region code which was used for Saint-Petersburg, the city I live in, from 1991 to 2005 or 2006. After further investigation I've discovered that their office is located in Saint-Petersburg, but there's no address anywhere yet. I wonder if they'll make some press-conferences so I can go there and ask some questions for you guys.
I think Siege was a way better buy for me than Battlefront. Tons of fun with pals, but then again most things are fun with friends
As long as it has good weapons variety (i.e better than dayz, arma2dayz was pretty good about this) and the urban environment is done correctly, I'm all for this.
I just hope this will be the first actually good russian game.
You're implying the Division is good? Honestly it looks fucking shit. I was hyped for that game until the actual gameplay videos came out.
I think he is implying that the Division was bad already.
I just hope this will be the first actually good russian game.
Wasn't Metro 2033/Last Light made by a russian team? That and the Stalker series?
Metro and STALKER were both made by Ukrainian developers.
Metro and STALKER were both made by Ukrainian developers.
Ah, well close enough I guess...
I just hope this will be the first actually good russian game.
Pretty sure Tetris is Russian.
