Escape From Tarkov - "The DayZ you've been looking for! (minus the zombies)"

I had to hatchet run all the maps to figure it out somewhat without losing anything, along with downloading the maps and figuring out my location via point of reference
the shitty thing about playing offline is the spawns stay the same iirc (tried this in customs and factory)

Yup you always spawn in the same place in offline mode. That's why the ramp spawn in factory is called single-player.
I feel like if they focused on randomized maps this game would probably be one of the most unique and engaging games of its time. But probably the best gun handling is all I'll have to settle for I guess. Rushing around on small maps with known spawns kinda ruins a bit of the enjoyment when I know roughly how far people get at x time for y spawns is a joykill.
Also I've been trying to lose my silenced SKS cos I hate the thing but I keep getting it pack on insurance, damnit.
Also on that note they need to extend the time you can collect on insurance or find a better way to implement it, apparently I've 'Run out of time' on a buncha stuff cos I never noticed it.

My problem with insurance returns is that I have the basic inventory size so it's often totally full so I can't get some of my items back. Like I'd prefer if you knew what item was being returned before you clicked on GET.

You can safely back out of the insurance and come back to it later once you clear your inventory. I assume it's limited so people don't use it as extra storage space.
I don't get this game
I do a fully geared run on customs. Taking my time and going slow. I find a guy with a shotgun in the apartmentsame building and I get one shot by his shotgun even tho I started shooting at him first with fmj rounds
Then I do a run on the factory again fully geared and literally wiped the map...while also receiving 3 shotgun shots at close quarters that did absolutely nothing to me

Probably a case of good 'ol dose of desync
I mentioned it a couple times in this thread before but desync can really make or break the game for me
My personal enjoyment out of this game is gun porn simulator/pimp my gun and exceptional gunplay. I really hope they fix the desync though - this game has amazing potential

if you collect your insurance it will first display as "recieved" and then after the timer runs out it will change to "out of time" regardless of whether you collected it or not. so you can have something that ran out of time but you actually already collected it.

Thing is, this game will be an open world later on, so no more small cramped maps, only 1 big ass map
I've only played a few rounds so far. I'm not very good, I haven't even found a single extraction point.
My record was 47 seconds, I spawned and crawled around for a bit and was spotted by a geared dude with a rifle. Apparently I landed 3 shots on him, so I dunno hopefully he died. I think I need to do some more offline to learn the maps
The way the guns handle is probably the best I've ever played in a game. And the atmosphere is incredible, there's nothing quite like searching a container, hearing nearby shots and bricking it trying to work out where it came from or those almost anticlimactic deaths after spending half an hour silently sneaking about and taking a single shot from someone unseen.
I was pretty sure that the full map will be just the areas that we can play on right now but connected to each other, so cramped maps will stay (I think).

That makes me curious how the loot will work then. If it's still instanced, only one giant instance or if everyone who's playing will be in it, which'd probably make it crowded. Either way the loot's gonna be the same, people will converge on the spot that has that one useful key or folder for holding stuff.

IIRC the open world will contain entry points to instanced raids, for example queuing at a door to enter a factory raid or something.
getting shot by AI you can't physically see is pretty ridiculous, there was a scav on a stairwell and he just straight up shot me through the floor, like he wasn't on even the steps, just below me up and i saw the bullets hitting the floor beneath my feet as i got hit

Yeah, there is something off about getting fucked thriugh a chicken wire floor when you can't shoot through it yourself. No matter what ammo i use, iI get zero penetration on the metal factory stairs. The games got some glaring issues, but like any other game in aloha or beta you just have to hope the issues are addressed. I file reports all the time, including Subnautica, because I want the experience to be as perfect as possible. The future looks promising though, and I still enjoy the gameplay even in its current state. The guns themselves are just so satisfying to use
Yeah I hope they fix AI shooting you through floors. Like waiting above stairs if you think they're coming up is the biggest mistake. I get consistently fucked that way.
[editline]5th September 2017[/editline]
Because even if you stand still they see you somehow before showing up.
It's not that you can't shoot through them, it's that the bullets just fly off in a seemingly random direction. Same shit happens with wirelink fences, kinda stupid.
I just found out that during a mission, if you remove the magazine, you can manually load or unload a single bullet into the chamber with the Examine screen of the gun. That is AAA quality gun porn.
Quoting myself to bring up a point. I didn't realize until later that Peacekeeper will only buy empty guns so if you want to farm US dollars, you have to not only unload the magazine but also take the round out of the chamber. That's the only way he'll buy guns.

Some guns he wants loaded though, like P226 i think. (Except never with a bullet in chamber)

Picky fucker
I swear, the chain link fence area on Factory gets contested every 10 to 15 games I do
and it's hilarious

im starting to really like scav runs, having zero pressure of loosing gear plus your own army of AI bots is really nice
im starting to really like scav runs, having zero pressure of loosing gear plus your own army of AI bots is really nice
Yeah, I shot at the scavs a few times before I realized I'm with them. Now I leave them alone and get some backup.
Flying hacker scav just killed 3 of my team mates by flying up behind them and executing them. I went prone on a flat bed trailer for a semi and waited for him behind gas station on Customs. He warped to me, but since his hack locks him to the ground, he clippped underneath me and couldn't shoot. I knew he'd warp again to get the drop on me, but I knew it would be behind. So I waited until I saw his shadow move, 180'd and ended up shooting him through a bus window. He fired off at least 9 rounds and never hit me.
That guy needs to uninstall forever with that performance.
Whenever I pistol glitch, I feel justified every time I desync.
Also trying out some other weapons for shits and giggles. .308 is about as useful as slug shot(It's not useful at all). They really need to revamp damage so it just doesn't default to black limb instantly. Probably figure out a way to make rifles borderline unusable with crippled arms, fall over when crippled legs, etc. IMO the only kill shots should be body/head or bleeding out completely, but the other wounds could cripple you beyond functionality unless you patch yourself up fast.
So what's currently the cheapest way to get this game?

I was under the impression that health and limb damage would be totally revamped at some point. Destroyed arms means basically nothing. Destroyed legs sucks but you can still walk with two broken legs somehow.

Oh good, I can't wait 'till I turn my enemies into this

It'd be pretty funny if there's a small chance your weapon falls out of your hand if your arms turned black

At this point it sounds like literally everything is a placeholder except for the graphics to be honest.

Well, at this point it's more of
"guys, is it working yet?"
"Nope"
"aight, lemme redo that"
