Be careful you don't get fired for disloyalty :v:
I just want to make absolutely sure: if i buy the Standard edition i can play right away right?
Me and a buddy are planning on getting this and having a go, but i don't want to make the mistake of finding out were on a waiting list or something.
I know it says 'Guaranteed instant access to closed beta' but i'm a pessimist.

Yep, you get acess right away. Upgrading your edition is basically for getting a larger stash.

Thank you. You are now certified to call yourself a helpful dude.

I've noticed, even from the alpha, people don't use headsets...
Do they not understand the importance? The first guy on the steps was the only one with a headset, he heard me coming, his two buddies didn't hear me leap out the window like a spider monkey even though my character shouted on landing.
Wear your ComTACs guys, they are essential to any geared raid, forgo your Kiever and just get a ComTAC, i've used a Kiever exactly one time this whole patch since they changed the ability to wear a headset under the helmet.

they didn't hear you land because the directional sound in this game is shoddily implemented, especially in THAT building. Wearing comtacs wouldnt change that.

do you mean specifically comtacs in game or just having headphones in general? comtacs can be pretty disorienting ig and not having a helmet can really be a problem in close quarters

I mean in-game headsets, obviously, a quality headset helps a lot too, but, from my personal experiences if someone shoots me in the face I die, helmet or not.

Yes, directional sound is kinda wonky, but the headset is still, for me, indispensable. Had they heard my character shout upon landing, they would have known I just took fall damage, they knew they had contact second floor, it's putting 2 and 2 together.
It's not perfect but it is still a noticeable improvement to sound direction and radius, I initially thought they were down the hall second floor past the boxes I was aiming over, but that's because his two buds were moving at that section on the floor below
Though, I am looking at this strictly from my perspective as a lone wolf, I've played exactly 2 raids where I've had someone with me, so I don't know how useful it would be for a whole squad to have them perse, but there should at least be one sound whore in the group.
from my experience playing quite about with the dudes from the fp discord, comtacs were not worth the risk of getting dropped by a lucky makarov or something when with large groups (4-5) because people WILL talk over eachother. i used them a lot before i could replace my kivers because of the spaceman-like reflectiveness of the kolpak, but i feel like the only places they are super important are in places like your video: the health resort, dorms on customs as well. atleast, with the way the audio is now. imo they might become a lot more useful if it gets reworked at all.
I'm having a lot of bad luck with desyncs, but other than that i'm having fun. I've basically been doing scav runs exclusively, since the idea of loosing stuff makes me paranoid.
I wonder if using banana mags increases chances of getting gun back through insurance.
Okay its getting increasingly harder to have fun when you are faced with glitching, desynced players that hop around absorbing bullets.
Is this a thing i'm just having or what? Its pretty much every game now, i'm fighting scav ai's, immortal frozen players, and bouncy glitching players that cant be killed.

That's weird, usually shoreline acts up the most (at least from my experience).

You're not alone dude. Happens all the time.
Finally was on the giving end of things last night, took down two super geared players as a scav. They clearly mag dumped me with easily a dozen hits each. Not a scratch on me. Felt so bad I left all the gear I assumed they'd insured.

There will be another wipe anyway, just enjoy the loot my dude.

Spawn in as a scav on factory. Get shot in the head before I can fully load in. Nice.

Factory has gotten a bit nuts with this patch, fuckin love it
They've fixed scavs always going for your legs when you have armor
I even killed Ugandan knuckles

Does it make sense to buy this if I only play it like 2 times a week for a few hours? (It seems pretty farm heavy)

That's all I do for any game nowadays, life is a bitch. It's up to you.
Man, this game is difficult as fuck. I don't even know where to find any loot in any map ever.
Aaaaaagh, almost made it out with my very first sks and my pockets full of loot, when one fucking scav lands a 1 in a million snap-headshot during the extraction countdown.
Man, this game is difficult as fuck. I don't even know where to find any loot in any map ever.
I'd google for map outlines or watch walkthrough videos, then go through the maps in pve mode with no enemies. I had to do that when I first started out because I didn't know the extraction points (which led to an awkward moment where I was completely loaded up on loot and walked past an extraction point in customs as I was dying of dehydration.)
[editline]21st January 2018[/editline]
I still don't know loot placements that well since I mainly used videos to look at extraction points, but these are a few big loot spots people go to.
In customs near the far pmc extraction on the main portion of map with all the large warehouses there's one warehouse with two big boilers and metal walkways. From the spawn look for some train tracks and follow them. This warehouse is two buildings down from the extraction bunker with a tan door. You'll just pass a bunch of water towers. There's a large weapon chest up on the walkways of both boilers. You'll usually get a bunch of attachments for guns (including longer ones like sks receivers, 45 round mags, etc. but you can also get guns as well. I found an AS VAL there once, but if you get a gun its generally something more common like a vepr, pistol, or aks74u. Its a long haul though to the extraction points if you spawn on that side of the map though.
I'd avoid dorms on customs until you start finding keys for the rooms since most good things are locked. I think room 218 is the weapon spawn room that has a chance of spawning rifles on the ground. Best thing I've found there so far is an ak-74. Its in the three story dorm building. There's also two green weapon crates on the same floor that are accessible to anyone.
Woods:
Don't really know this map that well, just been running around on it trying to hit scavs with knives.
Shoreline:
The resort (big red building in the middle of the map up on a hill) has locked doors again, but there's a large weapon chest in the helicopter right outside the main entrance, and another weapon crate on the third floor (I think) of one of the wings. If you go up the road from the bus station and see the helicopter, keep going past it and you'll see a set of double doors on your left. Go into those ones (you'll know its the right set if you see a hole in the ceiling on the right). Go in past the right hallway and take a left. You'll see a staircase on the left, go up that until you see a green gun case right across from you. There's another one to the left of it, and if you go right into the blocked hallway and another right through the open doorway you'll see a large weapon chest on a bed. These are generally looted though if you take your time.
Like dorms, if you want the most of it you'll need to find keys for the locked rooms. From what I've read there's a fair number of weapon and loot spawns in them.
If you're just looking for early weapons, there's a bunker with a scav spawn that you can knife through and the extraction point by the road to customs usually spawns some scavs as well.
Factory:
In factory on the top floor there's a room with two doors. There's a safe underneath the computer desk near to the outside windows (that is also a scav extraction) that can spawn roubles/dollars/euros, various figurines you can sell for cash, and other stuff. Yesterday I found a bitcoin in there in two runs, which for me currently, sells for 170k roubles with therapist.
There's a lot of smaller green weapon crates around but its kind of hard to describe the layout since it all looks the same.
Man, this game is difficult as fuck. I don't even know where to find any loot in any map ever.
essentially the loot on the map is [for the most part] useless. it's just better to kill scavs and players and loot their bodies. you can find guns in the world, but the drops are rare/you need special access to a room with a key you might not have. you get gun mods left and right, and honestly, spending the time to mod a gun is almost useless when you won't be using half of the features anyway so don't worry about those. flashlights and optics are great. there's not much point to decking out you m4 with a fancy rail system and vertical grip when the stock grip and rail system is exactly the same
i never loot boxes or grab things off of the shelves. some traders want you to sell them knickknacks in return for optics or gun mods, but you can find them off of dead bodies all of the time

found an RSASS and an opscore off a dead PMC who died to a scavvi boi :v:
Aaaa I keep dying

Good thing I'm a cheapskate who only buys fishing vests and shoddy balalaikas otherwise I'd be broke as hell already
Whats the easiest way to obtain a Fort? I need it for the first (very smart to put such a difficult task as one of the first players will ever do) Skier quest.
