Now you will have to reinstall Tarkov. How horrible.
i hope they change str leveling so you earn it through normal play, it has pretty huge benefits but unless you grind it it levels maybe 20x slower than other physical skills
So who wants some fort armor? I have four iCases full of just fort with a fifth that has three, I'm never going to use them so I wouldn't mind throwing away like six because they're just going to collect dust

Also have a keybar and Docs case I don't need

I don't want any of it, but I do want you to teach me your ways
Really just sound whoring and knowing when and when not to engage and or dip like a potato chip.
Lots of mall cops in factory that think since they have numbers they're invincible and get too lax during a raid
[VID]https://gyazo.com/0e4322ce9543ab69ca83ea52ca6e50b8.mp4[/VID]
[VID]https://gyazo.com/38e3d3928709d8a2026fa7d0efb63a2c.mp4[/VID]
I also hardly run fort because I almost always get jewed the second I decide to use one, I just go into raids with the mindset that I'm basically as fragile as a balloon and play accordingly
Constantly changing positions is also a good idea for lone players, never stay in a spot for too long with close contact and try to move only when they're moving to help mask your own noise
Also hiding in spots people would never think to look even though they're right out in the open
[VID]https://gyazo.com/948cf474f5958f5e56b7777b726a9dfc.mp4[/VID]
People also don't expect to get pushed hard and fast most of the time (at least from my experiences getting in peoples faces)
That and just get lucky and run into people that have zero situational awareness
[VID]https://gyazo.com/78985e220e9fa5d3c13fe65f81b58bd2.mp4[/VID]
Map knowledge and "game sense" come naturally over time but it's important to know the map you're playing inside and out, that and playing a fuck load of factory offline trying new weapon combos and tactics is always handy.
It's mostly sound whoring though, sound tells you everything you need to know in this game.
Take ballsy risks every now and then and it can pay off pretty nicely, you won't win them all, but you'd be surprised what you can pull when you play like an ADHD squirrel with a death wish.

I'd love to have your keybar, I've been searching for one with no luck and every time I see one for sale with Fence someone always beats me to buying it. I have no idea how to trade with other players though, my nickname in-game is _RJ_ if that helps.

You are probably aware, but if you bought before Christmas, the New Year gave you a gift you can redeem on your profile on the official EFT website, which gives you an icase, modded AKM and M4 and keybar.
Hope ya get that keybar though!

What happens to all this stuff when we get wiped again btw, do we know?

Yeah I saw someone mention that earlier in the thread. I bought it in February so I didn't get that stuff. :frown:

Honestly not sure, I hope that the icase and keybar are gifted again.
I really hope I get a keybar again, by far the most useful, but the icase is mandatory for those Standard users.
Sound whoring, ah yes. I got banned from an America's Army 24/7 Bridge server because I would crank my headset up and just know where people were.
Not like it was hard on a BRIDGE where every part of the bridge had different sounds for footsteps. I explained it, they could use Punkbuster to take screenshots of exactly what I see when playing, they just weren't happy about it and got rid of me. Lame
I got my first silenced weapon today, also yes, I really like flashlights on my shotguns.

ill take it if you dont mind, dont have a gamma yet
I am really hoping for a weapon pricing re-balance at some point, a good 70% of weapons are largely redundant at the moment, or are simply out beaten massively by others.
For example, Prapor level 1 sells an AKS-74U for 22.5k roubles for me, and Skier 2 sells a Blackrock rig for 16.6k roubles. That can be swapped for Prapor's AK-74N trade, meaning that you can get a good quality full auto AK for between 16.6k (if you time it well) or 22.5k. Let's ignore the Blackrock AK due to it being a barter item, and decide arbitrarily that the 22.5k AKS-74U is the defacto basic "I want a basic gun for running a bit", and compare it to some other offerings.
Compare this to Skier 1's offerings:
- VEPR VPO-136 - 23.8k, semi auto only, pretty much same price as an AK74N, so not really worth it.
- MR-133 - 21k
- MP-153 - 30k
- SKS - 24.2k
Skier 2:
- Saiga-9 - 26.7k, size 2x1 10 round mags, defo not worth it at all
- VEPR 209 (the legally a shotgun AK) - 27.6k
- OP SKS - 27.4k
- Saiga 12G - 27k
Prapor 1:
- Vityaz 9x19 - 33k
Prapor 2:
- Kedr - 28.3k
- Saiga 12 again
- AKM - 34.7k
- AK-74N - 31.5k
I've ignored the pistols, ammo and mag prices, and Peacekeeper's stuff, due to being too lazy to convert, and ignored the Toz because it is the shotgun that God himself chose.
From looking at all these prices though, you can basically see that of all of these weapons, there are quite clearly best choices - why would you take any of the shotguns for their price, or any of the SMGs? The AKS74 will do a better job for cheaper.
If you really want a 7.62 rifle, there is a bit more variability if you really want to spend 25k instead of 35k on an AKM. In all honesty, 7.62 is a good choice, for the relatively good ballistics, particularly in getting through armour.
Basically, I really think that some price tampering is needed, ideally to make some of the very low performance guns (Saiga-9 for example) more cost efficient. Same goes for things like the VEPR-209, which is awkward due to the calibre, and yet way outprices the AKS-74N!
As for Peacekeeper, he just outprices everything, so he is admittedly just for funsies, really at the moment if you were talking buying guns at low tier.
[editline]11th February 2018[/editline]
To clarify - we have loads of fantastic guns, I just wish some were more viable by being priced differently, so you see more of this variety! It's a risk:reward thing, and I would always pick a 7.62 or 5.45 considering the minimal price differences!
My main concern with buying this game now is, I can see a future where the hideout update slowly implements more and more out-of-game timers ("Please wait 2 hours, 30 minutes for your PMC to heal!", of course with microtransactions you can pay to skip them) and dailies that you have to log in and do, to the point that the game becomes "Escape from Tarkov: Farmville"

Aren't many of the weapons and parts priced according to what they actually cost in real life?
I have nothing to back this up with, but that would explain why ol cheap reliable AK is so cheap in the game. After all, thats how it is in real life as well. AK just happens to be a great gun which is also quite cheap.
Of course many weapons in the game come from black market, but thats not much different either.
Basically prices make sense from the point of view of actual pricing behind these guns.
But from gameplay and progression point of view they seem unbalanced.

Why would it be microtransactions? You would just heal yourself like usual, just outside the raid.
Why would it be microtransactions? You would just heal yourself like usual, just outside the raid.
Call me cynical, but I can already see it edging that way with skill rust and quest timers that count down while you're not even in game both of which penalize you for having a life outside the game and are generally considered anti-consumer (what is this, an MMO?)
I don't want to buy the game only for them to double down on this behavior in future updates which significantly worsen the out-of-raid experience

The ComTacs actually function like their description says? I've never had a chance to use them.

From what I've heard they amplify volume quite effectively but it's not the best to use outdoors simply because things can get too loud.

I found some on a player corpse while limping my way to outskirts exit in woods, I put them on, walked through a bush and nearly shit myself, super loud rustling out of nowhere.

Comtacs have their use, but they are really disorienting sometimes, because silent sounds are louder, while gunshots are more silent when you shoot. It feels like your gun is suddenly almost silenced with some calibers.
