Woo wee, I just had a great run on Customs. I was looting the marked room in the dorms when I heard some footsteps outside going up the access stairs to 2nd floor. I walked back slowly in to one of the rooms that start with the door open so as to not give away my position. I waited there until I saw two fully kitted dudes go past (no fort or kiver unfortunately), then I walked out and laid in to their unsuspecting legs with my AKM. That's the story on how I got 2 snipers (DVL-10 and SV98), silenced AKS-74U, silenced SR-1MP, PP-91 Kedr, a bunch of mods for my AKM, and 100k worth of dogtags. I couldn't have imagined making a play like that when I first started out, it's great when things work out nicely like that.

Think I may have just had the best hatchet run of my life, shadowplay annoyingly didn't appear to even be up in the background, even though it's set up for instant capture. Basically ran my ass off to office, hatcheted a scav with an SKS..took the SKS and his blackrock with ammo, closed the door, waited for someone else to come along and loot him, opened the door and dropped him, which i think was a player scav. Then I think 2 seperate teams came up from either side, fighting each other and forcing their way into office for cover where I was waiting for them. Dropped the first 3 with the SKS and got a fourth with one of the guns I picked up. Got me 2 kiva helmets, 2 fort armours, some sweet weapons, quite a lot of meds and I ran like fuck to the exit. CASH MONEY
did you have the launcher running in the background? or something like spotify with hardware accel? shadowplay tends to get hung up trying to record those instead of something like tarkov.
can you hotkey the gestures?
Double tap "y" and assign responses/gestures to buttons there.
I just can't seem to get my fucking recoil under control :v:
Double tap "y" and assign responses/gestures to buttons there.
thanks whats the best m4 ammo? ive been using m855a1 since thats what the guy who droped the gun was using i hope they move items around, the ta51 at lvl4 seems silly i want to mount the Trijicon but cant buy the adapter. the other scopes are garbage and fuck my fps, i lose almost 20fps using the elcan in 1x mode performance is already bad enough on shoreline
did you have the launcher running in the background? or something like spotify with hardware accel? shadowplay tends to get hung up trying to record those instead of something like tarkov.
Nothing out of the ordinary, I think for some reason it was just in some kind of sleep mode. It wouldn't even open with the keyboard shortcut until I fired up the geforce experience software.
please teach me how to git gud, last fifteen raids i did, i just died to bullshit and it's making me sick, I'm tired of dying
Failure is the first step to getting better, I also don't know what specifically my gif has to do with getting good?? Death is going to happen man, all the time, bullshit as well, you see how bad the desync is, but it's come a long way since the closed Alpha. The only thing I can say is you'll get better over time, I've sank more hours into this game than I care to admit, the more comfortable you are with the layout of the map, be it where scavs spawn, where they should and should not be for NPC's, what paths players take most often, vantage points overlooking those paths, exits routes for when shit goes south, etc. You will get better over time, you just can't get discouraged about losing stuff, if you lost as much shit as I did every single day oh my lord, and I understand that losing gear sucks, it always does, but what I've learned from trial, error, and frustration, is that you will ALWAYS eventually get it back. I don't "loot" the map unless it's the health resort on shoreline since I have a fuck load of keys, fuck woods, Factory is kinda cancer right now with weapon glitchers but it can be quick fun PVP if you accept that you might die in 0.05 seconds, Customs I just hunt players and sell their stuff or hoard more fort armor that I'm never going to touch which is STILL FREE IF ANYONE WANTS IT Seriously guys, I have maybe 30 vests now, I'm running out of inventory space, I don't want to sell them, because you can't buy them from vendors, but I don't want to play with them either because I don't want to give other people the satisfaction of getting fort armor from killing me (I'm a fucking asshole) so I'm literally hoarding a virtual item for no reason.
please teach me how to git gud, last fifteen raids i did, i just died to bullshit and it's making me sick, I'm tired of dying
I want to add that it pays off to be slow and cautious, especially in close quarters. I've had many situations where I'll only be walking very slowly through the dorms on Customs and come across other players doing the same, or players that will be moving loudly. [del]Each time[/del] Most times I've been able to kill them because they aren't keeping an eye on their flanks (the other cautious players) or where I can get the drop on another player because they've given away their positions (the loud ones). Which brings me to my next point, if you don't have headphones (or a great 7.1 surround setup), you need them. Situational awareness is key to killing and surviving. ComTacs help, but I find that they mess up my directional sounds and instead just play every sound that's picked up through every direction on my headphones. ComTacs work well if you already know where the person is, at least that's how I feel about them. Finally if you're low on weapons/cash/loot to work with then I'd recommend doing scav runs on the Woods map, I've had great success on that map as a scav. Most places that have good loot also have AI scavs around that can protect you from/alert you to other players (wood processing plant, that shed near the coast, the checkpoint on the road between the wood plant and the scav house, the actual scav house, etc.). There's usually dead bodies around too that can be looted whether they're players or scavs that died, however players are usually looted. The other nice thing about Woods when playing as a scav is that most players will be gone by the 20 minute mark so it's pretty safe to run around just looting what's left of the battlefield. Factory is another good map for scavs but is significantly more risky, but ofc there's better loot. To add on to what NateLB said, dying is a good thing. You want to pay attention to how and why you died and then think of what you could've done differently (e.g. retreat back to get a better position, aim at different points of the enemy's body, take cover at X or Y location, etc.).

The thing is I always listen. Every time I hear the slightest rustle or whatever I'm on my toes. I do try to get the advanteous position where I get the drop on someone, and in the event it happens, I still die because the dude 180's and shoots me in the head. I've managed to kill a fully armored person who was carrying an RSASS with an AKSU with PRS ammo just by staying around the hole in the wall on customs, when I heard him approach, I peeked and unloaded a 60 round mag in his face, ran off for cover, and stayed low. Then a random ass guy who had nothing to do with him at ALL popped me in the head with a single shot from god knows where. That legitimatly pissed me off.

Still no performance improvements :/, lovely 30 FPS on Shoreline with stutters.
Takes a million years to get into a map though

That legitimatly pissed me off.
I can understand where you're coming from, I've died a bunch of times from shots to the face as it's hard to survive those kinds of attacks. Your only counter to face fucks is to buy a helmet and make sure that you're not affected by the armor glitch (un-equip helmet in to backpack then re-equip it, same for chest armor). It's best to always assume there's a second player not so far away, whether it be a friend of the person you just killed or some random who was following behind. Generally speaking you don't want to reload after killing the first player (if you have enough ammo left to kill a second player). After that first kill I'd recommend following where the player came from to clear out the area, or retreat back from where that player came from so that you can set up an ambush while listening for any other noises. Just keep in mind that players on the offensive have a latency advantage. If they see you first then they get a couple of seconds to get their hits in before you can. That's why ambushes tend to only work if you're hiding in their blind spot.
Hold shift when firing.
they're removing that this patch (it's a toggle not a hold anyway)
