I really wish there was some sort of cardinal direction in this game so I know where the fuck I am sometimes. Places like Resort feel like a suicide mission and friendly fire fest waiting to happen. Place is a damn maze and I don't come out of it half the time due to being shot by hostiles I can't identify because there's no way to call out where they are without memorizing the entire building.
So I'm a USEC in a BEAR squad, and I've had some really shit luck these past two days, lost so much equipment that I just stopped bringing anything more than a pistol, and a cowboy and sunglasses had so my teammates can ID me easily. We got into a firefight on Shoreline across a large field, 2 men with decked out AK rifles and L2-3 body armor. One of us is hit bad and backs down to heal, so it's just the two other riflemen fighting. And me, bolting down the hill toward the enemy with nothing but a pistol and a cowboy hat. I find cover in a ditch, pop out and magdump on the last enemy, get my arm, leg, and stomach blown out and not really accomplish anything. But that was a hell of a sight for my teammates, to see the crazy cowboy American charge like that and live.
They've gone and fucked something up that's for sure. Servers overloaded maybe? Also doesn't help the ammo re -balance feels like it's made things a lot weaker, or they made stuff a bit more inaccurate? Put 3 rounds of 7.62 NATO into some guys neck/upper body and I was the one that died. That and the serious stutters in gunfights makes this probably the worst patch yet. But hey at least I get slightly better FPS when nothing's going on.
On another note does anyone else get stuck on stairs/sleep inclines? Like you're walking through something thick.
The only thing that's driving me insane is the Backend error: couldn't connect to server message. Anyone else have this problem?
There's still some issues from what I can tell. I was hiding in factory and hadn't fired any rounds yet and this guy turns the corner with a shotgun. I fired 5 times and he killed me with 1 shot (I had no helmet or anything), but when I checked my stats after death it showed only 3 had registered.
Also yeah I'm experiencing the same thing with stairs. Whenever I go down stairs my guy usually slows down towards the end and then it sounds like I'm landing a jump when I reach the bottom of the stairs.
If I recall, if you run out of equipment and money, you get 50k tossed your way. 50k will buy you some equipment. Get you an AKs74, some ammo, a mag carrier, you'll probably have about 20-25k left over. You're never truly out of options
Was there a time limit to how often you get those?
It's not so much that I was out of options, moreso that I was just getting very unhappy with the rate I was losing equipment. I had lost my AK-74N and suppressed AKM, plus 3 AKS-74u's, and 2 P226's. And that's not counting several MBSS's, backpacks, and armors. I was starting to get pissed and just decided to stop bringing shit. Some of it will probably comes back when my insurance comes in, but I know my AK-74N and AKM are gone because it's been too long.
Found a pretty egregious invisible wall in one of the shops on Interchange. Heard two dudes sneaking around in the shop next to me so I went out the main gallery and approached the shop. Came to the window which has a good 4 foot gap between the edge and a truck(I think). Saw one dude standing there and I began unloading on him, he followed suit. Near the end of our mags we both realized neither was about to drop dead and hadn't even been hit once. We paused to just stare at each other while his friend gave him a quizzical look and sprinted around the corner to kill me. Zero hits, every single bullet was blocked by an invisible barrier. I could find the place again just by retracing my path but can't remember off the top of my head. Just be warned, it's on the second floor, a small clothing shop with a truck facing it.

I borrowed the account of a friend and I'm having fun. The weapons physics feels really great and the sounds are excellent. So far, I've only played the offline pve mode.
Got stuck twice on Customs previous week with a lot of loot, one I could fix by logging in and out, the other one I had to get executed by a group of scavs. Sometimes your character size feels kind of clunky but I guess that's a design choice as in real life a real body is also a lot less mobile than most games make it seem.
I haven't convinced any game-friends to buy tarkov yet so if any of you Facepunch people are up for grouping up, I guess I should go to discord?

Sometimes it's just the controls being shit, if you manage to hit side strafe, shift and then forward you don't actually sprint, gotten me killed a few times, sometimes the control fumble for some reason I cant figure out.
Doesn't help that the scavs are bullshit as fuck right now. They'll pre fire you, shoot you through walls, have a reaction time faster than the speed of light. Anyone else enjoy the pre wipe scav spawns? There were HEAPS of them but they weren't individually dangerous.

I really hope so, I also hope their reaction times are reduced. I once had a scav turn a corner with a shotgun and killed me before he even lowered his shotgun from being too close to the wall.
Scavs are still pretty fucked up, just got head shoted by a scav in woods...while wearing a HELMET
They fucking nerfed me, I became sanic for no reason, I could make it to the marked room on customs from any spawn point in roughly 1:30~ now I feel slow as shit again
Sad day, I was having fun being a naked again for a change, getting into firefights on customs with little to nothing using zoidberg and flank tactics, oh well, back to using gear I guess.

Doesn't say it changed sprint speed, but it did, and the height difference for jump is extremely noticeable.
Do you ever feel like the game is just completely against you?, like. i did arround 4 raids yesterday getting killed in all of them, only 2 were actually fair becouse i dident pay proper attention to my surroundings, however on the last two i started shooting first at my target yet they blow up trough my blue armor like its nothing or just instant head shot me even though im wearing a helmet and i got the drop first
I've absolutely had my fair share of complete bullshit deaths, but I've also gone on massive fuckhuge rampages so it feels kinda balanced out when I die six times in a row and then get 14 kills in one raid. It is really frustating sometimes though.
Annoying how the people who abused the strength gain system ("hurr i jump in a bush") before it was patched out get to keep it and have a practically permanent advantage this wipe over those that didn't
