Escape From Tarkov - "The DayZ you've been looking for! (minus the zombies)"

Ok, obvious noob question but how do you actually escape from an area? Is there a specific fixed spot you have to go to or is it different every time?

Theres usually two fixed spots where you can extract. I recommend playing in offline mode without scavs and getting a feel for the map and looking for the extract points, though they are sometimes hard to find, so check google or some youtube video or something I guess.
So when I start a game as scav and another player scav murders me 30 seconds into the game, is there any real reason for him to not do this?
So I got beta access

happened when I tried last night and its still happening.

Your only real incentive not to kill a scav as a scav is that the other Scavs might see and shoot you. Otherwise they haven't implemented the Karma system yet.

Lots of people are having connection issues right now and the devs know and are working on it.
Also I'm not stepping into online until they fix the damn bots. It was immensely infuriating hauling some good loot and getting 360 noscoped by a bot with makarov.

Current theory is that the bots are actually fine, but the desync makes it seem like they have aimbot, since you are sometimes seconds behind what the server sees. Bots in offline mode are pretty fair.

Yeah I managed to log in this time
Some moron actually thinks that the devs were deliberately not letting Aussies and NZ play lmao

This is the most anti-fun game I've ever played. How are you supposed to actually gain anything? Every mission is like a 99% chance of death if you have no armour. Scav AI is completely broken so any outdoor map is torture. If you try to farm items in Factory, you're just forced to deathmatch against a bunch of retards with knives who try to kill on sight everyone they see.

That's why you go in with your buddies, the more people you have in your squad the more fun it will be. Also remembering one of the Q&A's, developers said that in freemode (where you actually escape from Tarkov), killing other players in starting locations is ok, then, as you progress, killing players from your PMC is discouraged and finally killing any player from any faction is discouraged.

I honestly don't know why so many people are having problems with the bots. They already nerfed them two days ago, unless your right next to them standing still it's pretty easy to avoid getting shot, even without armor.

Servers are getting hammered because of the beta waves, should be fine in a few more days.

You can tell if you're getting desync in a match or not though. First time you search an object if it lags before the window opens you're desynced otherwise you're fine. So I don't believe that's a valid execuse.
Fine, 25% tax because I live in a country that loves to tax people, but the fact that they charge you for using paypal or just about anything else is shitty if you ask me.
How do you find people to group with? Trying to do so in game is a waste of time since there is no communication.

Yeah no, they shouldn't be putting the Paypal fee on the customer, this is shitty practice but I don't think illegal in Russia, they wouldn't be able to do this in Europe.
[editline]4th August 2017[/editline]
This also makes me think they don't have a business account on Paypal because if they did, there would be no fees for paying for goods, they're likely using a personal account linked to a bank or card and doing these as Paypal payments, hence the fee.
Basically they're doing something they shouldn't be.
[editline]4th August 2017[/editline]
Oh nevermind, its because they're using fucking Xsolla, the fees because they're using a 3rd party platform and they take a cut from everything.
What a joke eitherway.

Gee thanks, Tarkov, those framedrops sure are helpful...
Alternate title:
*teleports behind you* psssh nothin personnel kid
I felt the need to make a short video discussing the current state of the game, may be useful to anyone who is undecided about buying into Tarkov.

i was thinking about it because 35 euro seemed ok but those fees are taking the piss, they dont even mention its without vat on the website cheeki breeki's
wont you get hit with a fee from your bank because you made a euro purchase as well?

Yes you will, unless you use paypal which instead uses its fucked up conversion rates but even that tacks on a €4.38 fee because xsolla.
Whats silly is that the payment platform they're using, xsolla, allows for local currency rates and conversion so I see no reason for them to be charging in euro other than its the most stable currency for them to work with as they're a russian studio.

Depends on your bank, I have two banks and both don't charge me fees for foreign transactions.

Just confirmed this myself. This is kinda bullshit.
How exactly does the alpha container work?
Everything you put in it + the container itself gets put in the stash if you die?
Can someone explain the insurance system the game has? My understanding is it says it returns your stuff if it wasn't taken. Now, why would I insure something if it wasn't worth taking? If someone has shot me dead they're sure as shit going to take my weaponry so what exactly is the point of insuring it?
Have I understood it wrong?

There's a higher chance of being killed by Scavs.
If that happens, players CAN find your body but it's unlikely depending on the map.
So it's really worth it if you play on Shoreline or Woods.

Kinda, it stays on your character, equipped, all the time and other players can't loot it.
So when you get back to the character screen, you can just grab the items in the container and put them in your stash.

Didn't know you could buy steel plating for your skull.
Fuck this, I'm gonna stop playing until they fix their shit.

Sounds to me like you ran into someone hacking. Not even desync can do that.

You underestimate the power of the desync. It is fucking awful right now, pretty much unplayable.
