My friend wanted wallpapers of the ending to this, so I thought I'd share them:

So just a WIP of that animated thing im working on demonstrating the concept, I resized it to export it quickly just for this but once its finished will be avatar sized. Really all I have done so far is the lines for the first two constellations and WIP lines for mae, which I sort of made visible just for this. Will be a lot more stuff in it that actually animates.

I doubt you will be able to make the finished gif under 200kb, unless you half the framerate and colors
but good luck with that
fucking garry just give us uncompressed gifv/mp4 avatars already GOD

riiiiiight??
Finished this game recently, loved it - I loved how everything had personality. I missed a few achievements though - [sp]no clue how to find germ / the observatory, am I missing somewhere?[/sp]
[sp]Observatory is on top of the roof of the house Selmers is sitting in front of, every other day. I hung out with Germ a lot (Rabies!) but I didn't make it to the achievement either.[/sp]

Thanks, I'll check it out - need to get around to a third playthrough anyway :v:

Germ is always hanging by the Food Donkey if memory serves. Chat with him every time and he'll say different things on the last day.
This game punched a huge message through my friend's head. He beat it a couple days ago and he's done nothing but contemplate on what to do next with his life. He's in sort of a similar awful situation with his life, being a 20 year old college dropout and all, and this game gave him the motivation to do something about it.
I love this game.

I also finished it yesterday. And it similarly left me with a bit to think about, and actually helped me figure out why I have been in a slump the past few months. [sp]While I made it through college, the message of letting go of the past and wanting life to return to how it was really resonates with me. Things have really changed over the past year. Parents moved out of my childhood home. Despite me still living in it (renting from them), it feels foreign despite being there for 20 years. Sister and my friends are finding their own lives and careers. Rarely do we get to just sit down and play games or cruise around town like we did in high school. A few have even moved away to other states. In some ways I wish those days would return, even though I know they never will.[/sp] I never truly thought about it until that came up. I guess I still hadn't quite come to terms with that.
On a lighter note, I don't remember the exact quote but Mae's mom pointing out that much of stress for adults revolves around numbers made me laugh. Its such a mundane observation, but its pretty much true.
If you mix hanging out with Bea and Gregg will it skip any scenes?
kind of a thing my bf did and I'm not sure :v:
each day has it's own set of events i think
I don't think it's possible to get every scene in one playthrough, at least not when it comes to choosing between hanging out with Bea or Gregg.
I believe you get either one's 'full' experience if you hang out with them every day instead of switching it up. I've only done Bea so far (because I felt terrible at the thought of NOT hanging out with her) but I'm definitely gonna do another playthrough to get Gregg's scenes.
You only have so much water to grow plants, so you might as well as choose wisely who to spend your time with.
if you have the game on PC, you can get some save files to start from other places, or your can watch the opposite scenes on YT. Experiencing them yourself immerses you a lot more than watchin' what you missed, though.
got the avatar to look good enough considering how small it has to be. Idk might do more like make the eyes follow the constellations, also maybe fireflies.

eh I did BBGB on my first playthrough, with the random bit of Gregg being there just because I realized I was kinda ignoring him
did the exact opposite on the next playthrough (GGBG) just for the sake of consistency
one thing I wanna know is: If you do both at 2, how does it handle the final event? It probably just checks which one was your latest choice for hanging out but it would be kinda funny if it was handled by the game doing a coinflip about it
There's a post on the night in the woods reddit summarizing the most recent kickstarter backer only update by the dev team, which is nice since I'm still pretty bummed I can't get in on that myself.
They say they're going to be adding a few more characters for one of the higher tier backer perks in a coming patch, which will include some new dialogue, so yay new content. I'd recommend checking out the post for more stuff too, basically about the future of the company.

Guess I'll be doing my 6th playthrough once all that hits the public
I don't want to play through the entire game again just so I can see the cut characters/scenes.
I mean I already wanted to play the game again so it's just a bonus.
I don't want to play through the entire game again just so I can see the cut characters/scenes.
Unless Ive missed something I don't think they've said anything about adding in cut characters/scenes so far, just that they're finally adding some minor background characters that were rewards for the higher Kickstarter backers. I wouldn't hold my breath for any of that cut content being added.
Tbh I kind of hate the idea of backer only stuff because of how many Kickstarters are either a total joke, stop existing, or turn out to be scams. There is no way to 100% predict how fucked you are when backing something. there is too much trash to trust it and too much amazing shit to not want to be a part of that.
people who are too late to fund a game end up being excluded from cool shit

I think stuff like shirts and merch, being listed, stuff that's like trival is cool. Maybe even titles or exclusive aesthetics if its online
But backer only content like characters/maps/games/etc seems a bit lame, because those are things that would add to a series as a whole that people aren't able to access.

They have said that it won't be exclusive forever. The supplemental stuff will come out for backers first and then released to everyone else.
I am ok with waiting.
I'm sad the reddit post mentioned they have another game planned and that it probably won't be related to NITW. I just hope they revisit NITW eventually, even though I understand that developing something like this in a small team means they will want to take a break from it.
Though with that in mind, even if it isn't connected to Night in the Woods, I am quite interested in whatever they have planned next, since they've proven themselves quite capable with the writing on display here. If their next game is written as well as NitW, then I'm all in on 22 Black.

The important stuff is temporary, but still I would agree.
