Games good, ending is trash garbage.
That's my hot take on this game.

Apparently there was a comic made for the kickstarter backers to read. Curious to know if [sp]Casey shows up more in it, I'm super bummed that the cultists fed him to the black goat. Seeing his messenger status always set to away was depressing on the second playthrough.[/sp]

Oh yeah, apparently there was an entire prologue thing for backers only. I'd love to know more about that.

Yeah! Could someone share them with us?
Don't really care if it is considered piracy? Because [sp]crimes[/sp]

I really don't think the devs would mind. Maybe they'll release it for everyone at some point? Shouldn't be a problem.
Crimes? Crimes

I sure hope so. I read the kickstarter stuff and I would have loved to have known about this game all the way back then so I could have gotten in on it.
I'm super excited for the backer stuff to go out. I want that art book something fierce
yeah, it's a comic of gregg and angus' origins of being a "unit"
it's by the wonderfully talented jen lee aka repoghost, who has a comic called thunderpaw (thunderpaw.co), and whose work has probably inspired a lot. scott benson and lee's works have some similarities when they're both colored. but this comic isn't, so
Who all are the characters you can get to show up [sp]in the church at the end after you escape the cultists for the first time? I know there's your parents, neighbors, and the pastor which I assume are just always there. I also got Lori, Selmers, and the Stargazer dude whose name I can't remember, but there's still a lot of blank space off to the left. Who else can you get to appear?[/sp]
Question: [sp]do we ever see aunt mallcop after the cave in? She always seemed a bit indifferent to the whole situation
I wouldn't have thought about it, but I remember thinking for a moment that the cultist you kick down the mindshaft looks a bit like your mom, from the head shape and the little round tufts of hair (I"m super glad it wasnt). You never see under molly's hat, but she does look similar.[/sp]
[editline]when[/editline]
[sp]Actually, nevermind. The one you kick down the mineshaft has a chunk missing from their ear. Still though, molly was always really weird and cryptic, like she knew things[/sp]
I reread some of her dialogue, [sp]she says that it's her job to keep folks like us from seeing stuff like the arm, and if Mae says she's not doing a very good job, she replies with "better than you might think". Don't know about y'all but that's pretty suspicious to me.[/sp]
The game has spooked me and now I can't sleep. This is great
I'm so glad this became so big.
I supported this on Kickstarter so fucking long ago and now everyone seems to know about it and I'm so happy for the team

More theorizing, [sp]on one of the earlier days I just bumped into that group of 4 people that talk about allocating funds for the statue on the first day. They were up with aunt mall cop talking to the drifter past the church. [SUP]Suspiciously![/SUP][/sp]
Why have I not heard of this game before now??? It looks so interesting, even after only seeing some pictures and reading a bit in this thread. If that's all a game needs to get my interest, it's probably worth my time..
I think I'll get it later tonight
This guy did a cover of Weird Autumn, and it sounds really good, although the mixing is a bit weird.

I really hope someone puts together some guitar tabs for these songs; I'd fucking love to play them, but I don't have the ear to put together tabs myself.

Oh shit did anyone save this cuz it's gone now
Oh shit did anyone save this cuz it's gone now
It wasn't much. [sp]Just one page with Casey (I guess?) Gregg and Mae hanging out on a corner, Casey was smoking a cigarette and Angus walks around the corner, looks at them, and walks the other way. I guess it was before he met Gregg, back when they were in highschool.[/sp]
Whatever the rest of the comic had going on is what I want to see. I really hope they release all of this prologue stuff at some point, having a part of the story available only to those who happened to be around at the time is pretty shitty imo.

Yeah I saw it, I just was hoping to save it, which I did not do.
so why is there a feral cat walking around on all fours in the town, it creeps me and my sis out

it doesn't help that the animations are a tad slower than they should be so it sorta just slides around town, with one eye more open than the other. creepy fucker.

i know nothing of the plot but i don't trust the shifty bastard
might buy this. what is the "replayability" aspect of this game?

I'm on my fourth playthrough, and I'm still finding new scenes and dialogue. A lot of the events are unique to your dialogue choices.
Just finished the game for the first time. It's pretty great. Is the soundtrack out yet? I'd really like to listen to the band's songs.
Also I have to agree with you Postal, it really feels like they set up for a sequel. I really hope they end up making one because the writing in this game was fantastic.

also is the [sp]fourth messenger icon supposed to belong to Casey?[/sp]

In addition to what was already said, there are two endings based on who you hang out with more, but it's nothing major that changes. You can play twice and do totally different stuff nearly every day, and yeah I'm gearing up for my third play through and already know there's a bunch of stuff I missed the first two times.

Not yet. All they've said is that they're working on 'plans'. Give how dynamic some songs are it may take a bit to fix them, and all the tracks are looping so if the composer decides he wants to make them formatted like a normal song it may take even longer. It's over 130 tracks so yea it may be awhile regardless.
And yea that is him supposedly.

If you love the story like me you'll do multiple playthroughs. I'm already past that stupid 1 dollar per hour of gameplay value mark.
Did [sp]Bruce kill himself? I got the impression he was going to jump in front of a train, because he said he was taking one and "going to see his kids" even though when you ask about them in a previous conversation it's implied they died...
He also says not to tell the pastor until the next day, when he's gone.[/sp]

[sp]Yeah it's unknown. My assumption was just that he left town again and didn't want Mae or pastor K to feel bad for him, but some people have pointed out how 'going home to see his daughter' could be interpreted differently. It's definitely one or the other tho given Pastor K's reaction[/sp]

[sp]I haven't actually read all his dialogue myself but based on what I know about him I wouldn't expect him to kill himself, jeez.[/sp]
