I think this game suffered for the same reason that Destiny suffered. No end game content. In order to keep a user base, you need to keep content rolling. This is also why Blizzard have been relatively successful in maintaining a user base across an expansion. Not to say that they do it perfectly tho.
These global events are pretty great though, especially the current one. I'm having a blast shotgunning top tier enemies at point blank range, instead of the usual hiding behind cover.

Things are slightly better than when I dropped the game last year, but what I know for sure is that all this game had was the Search and Destroy > HVT loop, Hard/Challenging missions, and the Dark Zone, which was implied in the 'epilogue' to be your end game / holding pattern until Ubisoft finished deciding the game's fate. Something like the upcoming West Side Piers PvE area or the open world enemy placement of the Dark Zone should have been in the game a year ago. As it stands, the only content that uses an end-game playable area to its fullest by filling it with loot and dangerous enemies is Survival.
Making different builds for PvE and PvP is also a good part of what makes up endgame. Gathering the gear sets, itemizing, etc.
Whenever I've been in the DZ, I've always gone with the Banshee set, due to the never losing items bonus, then I found out today that was removed way back. Fuck :v:

Patch 1.8 is scheduled to release sometime next week, and they confirmed it's not monday, so I'm assuming tuesay or wednesday.
Started playing this again after burning out on Destiny 2, loving what they've done since launch, and hyped for Tuesday. How do people get such high skill power? I have 5.1k electronics and still only 168k skill power...I'm reading posts about people with 300k+.
I should really finish the missions in this Also a friend of mine claimed there'd be some kind of free weekend?
I've been wondering, what should I be using my credits on? Just purged myself of old gear that I never used. Before, you'd use credits to buy Sealed Caches, has that changed?
Phoenix credits or regular ones? Regular ones are good for recalibrating gear, and Phoenix ones can be spent on caches, recalibrating weapons, and stuff from the exotic vendor in the Terminal.
Yep. 7th-10th. 70% off everything iirc. [editline]6th December 2017[/editline] https://www.twitch.tv/thedivisiongame - 24 hour stream is up there are exclusive drops you can get via registering here http://drops-register.ubi.com/en-US and watching the stream for 20 minutes
Loading that drops.register webpage takes just as long as loading the actual game.
Playing the free weekend, seems like a fun game. Elite enemies seem kind of cheese though. Hospital was tough as nails because those guys just walk through hell and punch you in the face.

Singlehandedly they've wiped my group more times than I can count
Wait, you're level 30 and your gear score was... 8? How in the FUCK did you manage THAT?! The new piers areas drop loot like CRAZY. It's more difficult than the rest of the 'Light Zone' (The rest of the world that isn't Dark Zone). My Friend was 168 gear score and hadn't played since hitting 30 when the game first came out. Played with her for not even 2 hours running around the Piers area and her gear score was 276, On par with end game. Highest I've seen is 290 on a player, but that would take some grinding for Division Tech to upgrade gear you want to keep that's already high level World Tiers can be accessed at gear scores: Tier 1: 0 to 163 Tier 2: 164-182 Tier 3: 183-204 Tier 4: 205-229 Tier 5 Unsure if it's changed any Basically every gold item that drops on Tier 5 can be sold for 80k a piece. Instead of breaking them down I've been selling them and buying caches and opening those for more gear and phoenix credits
I hit 29 then stopped playing, then started playing yesterday and hit 30, so I was still using 28-29 gear which doesn't have a gear score assigned to them, just levels.
Yeah, you've managed to avoid getting any and all gear. Impressive. Some tips: Endgame is at Tier 5, don't bother buying weapons/gear unless you're REALLY behind. Phoenix Coins (PXC) are used for buying caches at the Terminal, which is the biggest hub, and you're gonna be there for everything basically, except if you're doing Resistance, then Camp Clinton for a bit maybe.
So after you reach level 30 there is no more levels, instead it gets determined by your gear level?
So after you reach level 30 there is no more levels, instead it gets determined by your gear level?
Pretty much, in some cases set bonuses can trump gear score, especially Classified ones, as long as the disparity isn't massive.
fyi you can't use the uplay 20% discount code on the season pass that's on sale there goes 100 ubits down the drain
The Division free weekend ended the exact same time as I got executed by those scavangers in the underground, what a way to end it.
Glad my Sunday off that I was going to play this isn't considered part of the "weekend". Thanks Ubisoft, didn't even want to think about giving you money anyway.
You could still always just download the trial. You'd only be missing out on Survival, since the rest of the DLC is end-game based.
So after you reach level 30 there is no more levels, instead it gets determined by your gear level?
Gear score goes up to 290 (I Believe). Most stuff drops at the 265-282 range, and you use division tech to upgrade it from there. There isn't TOO much difference between 265-290, but what changes is the gear's armor amount, (About 100ish per 5 gear score) and how high the attributes on it can roll. A 290 will be able to roll a higher Firearms than a 280, for example I got an exotic backpack that acts sorta like Diablo 3's Ring of Royal Granduer, If you have 3 pieces of 1 set equipped, and 2 pieces of another, you'll get the 4 and 3pc bonuses of those sets. So I'm going to rock Predator's 4 piece for the 10 shots = bleeding for 50% of the damage done with those 10 shots, along with the 8% AR Damage increase. Alpha's 3pc for the 5% weapon Damage, and my Alpha gloves also have +10% AR Damage, and my AR, mods depending, can reach over 400k DPS It should work for now until I can min/max with ideal gear
I've started playing again and having a lot of fun, but I enjoyed it even during the beta so its hardly a surprise. In 24 hours though I've completed like three or four sets I had no parts for, gear just pours out of enemies these days. Its great.

It makes gearing up easy and fun, but getting it with near perfect stats or even just upgrading it all is a long haul I'm still after an MDR rifle. Have only got 2 exotic drops in the 24 hours or so I've put in the game since 1.8
One of the first things I got after starting back up was a like 277 MP7 (which is one of my favorite firearms to begin with) with increased accuracy, increased critical damage, and health on crits. So its just a little shredder that won't let me go down easy.
Any point in playing the game again if I'm not willing to buy any of the DLCs, or are they essential?
[t]https://i.imgur.com/rvv2EAw.png[/t] This just popped out of a standard, red health enemy right outside Camp Clinton. I swear everything in WSP drops shitloads of gear.
