I called for my first extraction yesterday and fought that NPC Agent. I had a purple assault rifle, some blue knee pads and everything else was the greens I started with. It was a very lonely and uneventful trek to the DZ. The fight between me and that agent was just all maneuvering and lasted 5 minutes. It had really good AI up until the end where I corner peeked it and killed him. That was an intense fight Ran back up to the pad, another agent nearly dead from the guy who was shooting him, so I finished his last bit of health off, and ran over and took the guy's cache while the helicopter landed. We both hopped in and took off Got like 9 caches total at the end Even though the game lasted about an hour, I only killed 18 NPCs total. I came across very few until just outside the DZ and I just snuck past all them
And most people usually only go into the DZ once they're fully kitted out with purples, which is a waste of time since you can get through most street firefights with blues if you are not an idiot, or greens if you REALLY know what you're doing and REALLY ballsy. Atleast you get dibs on all the div tech you find if you know where to look for it.
In the time it would take me to rely on RNG to find purples I'd probably have died from sepsis tbh I get a couple as I go through every shelter and hideout reasonable but all four times I've entered the dark zone so far I've never had more than 2, but I've not had a problem in combat until the enemies start flying together in 10 man groups or literally appear out of thin air. The only thing I haven't really managed in survival so far is reaching the helicopter crashes, because they always seem to be on places you can't access. Whether you're meant to search the surrounding area or not it doesn't really say, but I spent 10 minutes trying to get on the highway pass at one point and gave up after having to waste two painkillers to stave off sepsis.

It's nice to make a B Line to a wreck to loot everything before someone else does
Makes sense. Too bad most of the loot I've gotten around the helicopters has been not all that amazing thus far.
Makes sense. Too bad most of the loot I've gotten around the helicopters has been not all that amazing thus far.
It depends on the crash site. The one where the enemies are all elite rikers and it's a dead end (Hell's Kitchen I think) always has purples. While Stuyevsant is mostly garbage and so far has remained my most hated spawn.
It's been a while since I played this. What's the best way to get good gear nowadays?
It's been a while since I played this. What's the best way to get good gear nowadays?
Everything except the DZ. No I'm not taking the piss, most of the stuff you do in the LZ (HVTs, Incursions etc) gives you decent gear even if you can't go to world tier 5. Hell, you can even pull up a map of the named elite locations in freeroam and farm those. I got from Tier 2 to 5 without touching the DZ except for weeklies just by doing that. The expansions are also great, Survival in particular. Moreso if you can extract and take good caches with you. Also I forgot to mention, past level 30 you get field proficiency caches every 500k xp (which is not as much as you think) and they give decent stuff aswell, so you can basically just fuck about in the LZ forever and still score decent gear.

Everything you do (Except the DZ) is rewarding and worth doing. The DZ is its own fun thing if you go into it not looking for gear. While gear falls out of your ass, it's still a grind to min/max for a specific build you're going for. Also I believe the next patch is going to overhaul and focus on the DZ/PvP

Once I get the Banshee set I'll play the DZ again. I just want to grind the levels and funds
there was a manhunt happening on a solo guy, was wondering how he managed then some guy ran across the street screaming AIM BOT FUCK YOU REPORT AIM BOT FUCK YOU REPORT what a wonderful world
Jesus the jump from world tier 1 to world tier 2 is a kick in the balls. I went from 2 shotting guys with the FAL to needing all 20 rounds just to take out basic enemies.

Not really, it works, each world tier drops better stuff as well so it pushes you to progress through them.
Can someone briefly list the new features since release? Played for a month after release then sold the playstation, really loved it though
Can someone briefly list the new features since release? Side missions in each area to kill targets, said targets and completion of mission gives you intel. You spend intel to accept Daily or Weekly contracts to kill a difficult target. Underground is Division's version of Diablo 3's Rifts basically. You run through randomly generated missions of a chosen length and difficulty, Loot drops, loot boxes, and a cache. You earn XP after hitting level cap like normal, and once you tick over you get a field proficiency cache that drops yellows or greens. Survival DLC pits 25 agents either against each other if you choose PvP, or solo if you choose PvE (Also supports your group) on the ENTIRE MAP in a blizzard with Cold temperatures you have to craft/loot clothing to protect yourself from, hunger, thirst, and an infection that will eventually kill you. You start with basic gear and a pistol, same as everyone else. The goal is craft an air filter to make it into the Dark Zone, find anti-virals, craft a flare gun to call an extraction, and extract. You can loot caches in the DZ and take them with you, as well. Anti Virals optional. You also loot gear from enemies/crates, loot crafting materials and craft your gear as you go
Was in the Darkzone, used two keys and got some nice weapons. Call in an extraction. Then all of a sudden guy with a Manhunt on him is closing in. From 900ft to right to us before the heli arrives. He's 4 levels fucking above me, and one shot kills me with a shotgun. Along with the 6 other people at the extraction point.
i'm like 70% sure all solo manhunt people are hacking since there's no way they could survive against a ton of other people, while being solo
I managed to survive a manhunt solo once. Granted the people hunting me had the idiot minion mentality of running into my shotgun one by one and had little to no sense of self perservation, which became obvious when they finally started moving in teams and tried to rush me while I was a block away with an M44 and they all refused to use cover. And my manhunt was an accident that just snowballed from one misfire (I even apologized in chat and used emotes to try and convey that I am non-hostile) into me being forced to defend myself from a mob of retards, as simply giving up and dying was out of the question since just before shit hit the fan I managed to score my first ever named gun and some decent for once gear.
The first week or so of the DZ was great. Players weren't dicks for the most part, they worked together, they didn't all gang up on a guy for accidentally popping a guy and getting the 20 second timer. Then, there wasn't much to do in the DZ except PvP. I even created a second toon, rushed to 30, and when I wanted to dick around in the DZ without losing my DZ levels and funds, I transferred the gear over and just ran around Roflstomping people with my god tier Vector
oh I completely forgot about HVT's they're such a good source of free shit if you just tag along with a group
Made a new char to get some clothes and do some shit while friends aren't online. Doing the Precinct mission during the intro, took us 5 attempts to do the final fight. Cause the other 3 fuckers wouldn't stop running into the middle of the area and getting insta-killed.
Meanwhile I and a fellow random level 24 decided to do Russian Consulate, at level 24. We only died thrice and all three times were to fucking special shotgunners. Some old fucking bullshit they are.
You spend so much time reloading in this game.

I'm pretty sure they have shock grenades too, unless that's the special riflemen pray tell that you can avoid their shotguns long enough to dodge the shock grenades because good fucking lord
I'm pretty sure they have shock grenades too, unless that's the special riflemen pray tell that you can avoid their shotguns long enough to dodge the shock grenades because good fucking lord
The special riflemen throw White Phosphorus at you. Shotgunners throw shocks and yes you can, they throw them a bit quickly but slightly inaccurately when they're close, but you can get out the way easily if you react quick enough. It feels more like they're trying to make you panic roll out of your cover into their guns rather than actually shock you. Occassionally they also run into their own shock nades. Which is both hilarious and gives you time to flee the fuck away in terror once you stop laughing and remember that their shotgun is a literal Nukestick, and that the shock doesn't last very long. And they are very close to you.
