Now to wait for this mod with some "HD" mods and people only buy Turok (Or pirate it) to play it with them and nothing else.
Despite the HD stuff making it look worse pure because they slapped them into the game without thinking about it.

hooooly hell this guy went all out on changes/fixes. This all looks pretty solid, too. I am impressed.

seems they've been pretty busy with this ever since turok 1 came out. Good deal. Tho they've again restated in the discussion forums that they're not allowed to reveal anything for this yet due to 'contractual obligations' but whatever at least it's coming.
I'm super glad they first intend on releasing the game once it's ready.
Nightdive gets so much respect for bringing back old games I never beat and otherwise unavailable games I never got to try, and all of them work surprisingly well. Even pre-1990 games. Turok 2 was one of my favorite N64 games, but I don't reckon I ever got much far. :v: But multiplayer was a blast.
No steam workshop plus updates come late or not at all
Not true, this largely depends on the dev. Terraria for example always gets updated there at the same time as Steam version and tieing moddability to Steam Workshop only is just bad.
I get it that Steam Workshop is to make at some point, installing mods easier. But if someone wants to do it manually, why not allow it?
Bought this on the winter sale, $5 is a steal. I'm glad they are porting 2 as well, the n64 controls for that game have not aged well at all, it's incredibly hard to play. The look controls have a spring so when you are done aiming they lock back to the center, which is not easy for a game that relies heavily on location specific damage
i have a problem where my view is stuck looking upwards. this is weird because it didnt do this the first time i played the game and i didnt do anything to change it.

Unplug any joystick or other controller.
lol they just couldn't resist

Fuck I hope Turok 2 is soon, the existing buggy pc port just doesn't cut it.
also, I've been testing out that Turok+ mod some more

it's so good. Not only does it add a way to quick knife slash when holding any weapon and cycle between ammo types, it also lets you throw grenades by hand when you pick them up but don't yet have the launcher. That, and a shit ton of other really obvious fixes + additions make this pretty much required when playing the game.
Just saw one of the beta testers post and then quickly delete "No coop for right now unfortunately". I saw that ya sneaky fucker. But yeah I already guessed that but i wonder if since he deleted it and said "for now" if that means it may come in a later patch? Guess we'll see.

Apparently this trailer was made a long time ago, hence all the graphical glitches you can clearly see in this. Still confused what it was that made them have to keep silent about the development of this over the last year but whatever at least we finally have a release date.
[editline]28th February 2017[/editline]
also i wish they'd quit saying "NEW" in regards to worlds, levels, weapons, etc. It kept confusing me into thinking they'd actually added shit lol.
i wanted a release date not 'coming soon'
i wanted a release date not 'coming soon'
good thing they gave one then ya FUCKWIT. March 16th.
I guess they didn't have one when they made this trailer ages ago and were then forced to sit on it until now, for whatever reasons.
i wanted a release date not 'coming soon'
"March 16th" ?
hell yeah dudes
i kinda want rage wars on pc but part of me feels like the game and its dynamics would be sorta lame with freelook lol
loved this game as a kid
i never played the sequels when i was younger, so im pretty excited to play this on my pc
a lot of people would disagree but seeds of evil is an all around better game. more diverse level design, more weapons, better game progression too. I just hope they changed the shredder because that gun actually sucked so much for how cool it looked
a lot of people would disagree but seeds of evil is an all around better game.
Man I've never heard anyone say anything except that turok 2 is miles better. It's just a complete improvement in every aspect imo.
fuck the rest of the sequels tho

pretty sure the levels are considerably a lot bigger too
[editline]28th February 2017[/editline]
also ya shadow of oblivion really wasnt that good

The problem with turok 3 was it tried too hard to be CINEMATIC and DEEP. Turok 2 worked with its simplicity and mystery while not being as bare-bones as the first game, but turok 3 just tried too hard with all these boring cutscenes and family drama. And weird ass changes like making fucking Adon into a love interest with mommy issues uughgghhgughg
[editline]28th February 2017[/editline]
and lets not forget that amazing turok 3 first boss: a zombie helicopter. The pinnacle of creativity.
Whenever i see the company name Nightdive Studios i get excited, these guys do a absolute fantastic jobs at remastering games
I like how all the comments on the Gamespot upload of the trailer are "These guys don't seem to know what a remaster is."
I mean, what the fuck? There's a difference between a remaster and a remake.
I'm definitely stoked for this.
So now Turok 2 multiplayer on modern PCs, and presumably modding support too.
Hopefully that kicks off a lot more than Turok 1's remaster modding scene did.

Yea part of the problem with the turok 1 modding scene was modding tools weren't added until a year after the game released and barely any news sites reported on it once it was added. The tools are still super incomplete as a lot of stuff isn't even accessible yet, and I saw one of the modders say they've given up as a result of that. Hopefully they can apply the same shit they used for turok 1 to have turok 2's mod support show up a lot faster. It's not mentioned anywhere on the store page so I guess that means it once again won't be on launch, which is a huge shame, but o well.

I wouldn't say it is outright better, it's a completely different game. However, the promise of getting to play it without massive frame drops + all the other things gives me a boner like you wouldn't believe.
[editline]1st March 2017[/editline]
there was co-op???

Yea a glitch is an understatement. Shit would lock up whenever you went into a portal lol. It's pretty funny they forgot that having the cheat menu accessible in deathmatch meant people could access the level warp cheats.

yea accidentally.
I hope they eventually remaster Turok: Evolution. Loved that as a kid, and it had great split-screen multiplayer

I remember that auto lock headshot laser weapon ruining friendships like it was yesterday.
I assume the game will use the soundtrack from the original PC release. I kind of prefer the N64's score, even if it has a quality loss at times, so I hope somebody with the know how can make a mod for that.
