The CEO of Nightdive Studios talks about Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. There's a lot of new footage.
didn't notice this at first but he totally shot the head off that Raptoid at :51. I'm pretty sure you couldn't do that before? like make a head burst sure, but not fly off lol. That's neat.
Less than a day to go. Also one of the devs confirmed the PC soundtrack won't be any longer, so I guess it's not using the CD version and is still a mess so yea, not much point using it over the properly looped N64 version.
I prefer the 64 version's soundtrack anyway.
couldn't you just mod it to have the real tracks
proper modding support won't be available at launch and no release date for it has been given, but looking at Turok 1's folder it looks like you could just drop the tracks in if you get them in .ogg format. Assuming that'd even work idk.
converting to ogg isnt hard, it would work just fine. where can you find a version of the cd with the correct runtimes? (where's the full pc version you posted from?)
I prefer the 64 version's soundtrack anyway.
yea but it's still really a choice between a proper, full, looping sountrack, or some shit that cuts out every 5 minutes exactly, pauses for 3 seconds, and then repeats from the start. Even more annoying when that cut off removes the best part of the level 1 music. Idk if there's some sorta rights issue preventing them from using the CD version or what since they don't talk much on the steam boards but hey if they ever put up a turok 2 workshop I imagine that'll be one of the first mods to appear.
It's probably that they don't/didn't even realize there was a Japan-only CD with the full versions of the tracks.
Considering how many times it was brought up in the steam forum, even within threads the devs were replying to, I'd be surprised if they still didn't know about it. But again modding support will make it a nonissue so it's whatever
cool, by them saying the levels are going to be less like labyrinths; im gonna guess mantid hive and primagen's lightship are getting a little of a overhaul. it's welcome because both of those levels were practically all corridors.
i hope the original levels are in there too... [editline]16th March 2017[/editline] i mean, the catacombs were a labyrinth but since the remaster i know that level, and every other in turok 1 like the back of my hand. I wanted to see if the same was possible with this one, but...
Nothing quite like getting lost in the Lair of the Blind Ones for an hour.

I'd be surprised if the same doesn't happen here.

[editline]16th March 2017[/editline] i am broken
I wish there was a list somewhere of the changes made to the level layouts in turok 1, I'd be curios to know what changed. All I know about is that the 2nd key you encounter in the game was moved to that little broken down temple area with the moat around it instead of being at the top of an easy to miss climable area shortly before there. before (:24) after (:29) To be fair that was a dumb place to put a key and I always missed it as a kid. If the turok 2 changes are like this then I'm all for it.
Turok 2 is out now, Steam says $20 but when I checked out it was $15
That's probably because those who have Turok 1 get 25% off Seeds Of Evil.
Turok 2 is out now, Steam says $20 but when I checked out it was $15
It's supposed to say that it's 25% off, but Steam is being fucky with it right now. I had a coupon for Turok 2 because I own the original, and it came out as $11.24 or something

I definitely like it a lot better than Turok 1.
lol well idk if they just added it or if the dev that replied just didn't know, but the soundtrack switch feature straight up specifies that the pc soundtrack is the CD edition. That solves that mystery. However, I can't seem to actually switch soundtracks while in game? Maybe it can only be done at the main menu, idk. Does it work for anyone else? [editline]16th March 2017[/editline] also this is so fucking good so far
Playing as a raptor in multiplayer mode is fun as fuck I'm not gonna win but I'm sure as hell gonna killsteal
Cept for Steam. The game is also now available at GOG with some note.
NOTE: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil currently supports only single-player and LAN modes. The online multiplayer mode is being worked on and will be implemented at a later date.
Even tho it says "CD" for the pc soundtrack, that's not the full CD soundtrack. It still cuts out after 5 minutes lol. Whatever the N64 soundtrack is still gr8. Also yea you can't switch back and forth on the fly, have to wait for the next track.
Works for me, it just fades the current track out and starts the alternate version.
Huh didn't do that for me. Maybe I just didn't wait long enough.
Well it managed to make gggmanlives pull a 180 on Turok 2, albeit due to being a way, way more competent port than the original PC port. :v:
Can't find one of the children in Adia, really bugging me
Oh my god fuck that second level with the 3 flying torsos and weird mirror things you have to kill, it's all just one huge long maze and now I'm having to completely retread the whole level to find the objectives I missed.

Making my third run through it now to catch the objectives I missed. Loving the port (despite some framerate issues), and despite the added help, the back tracking is still infuriating.
phone rang and had to pause. came back to a very concerning pause screen this motion blur is pretty goofy. looks ridiculous when turned up really high. still tho im loving this so far
