Yandere Simulator: She's talking to Senpai. That's unacceptable Edition

I am surprised to hear that he hates working on the game, if someone gave me 5000$ per month I would probably go nuts on the game. I find it odd how he would gladly give up all that money, just to watch anime and play videogames, that seems really odd to me.
I would be able to improve my life considerably and I would rather make more progress on my game whenever I could instead of playing other games or watching movies, I mean he acts as if those pieces of media would suddenly dissapear if he stopped checking them out for a while.
I wouldn't be afraid to admit when I'm burned out, but I would still do whatever I could.

Considering the amount of time he's been doing this and how much of his life is dedicated to this game, it wouldn't be surprising to know he'd want to at least be able to do his own thing occasionally
Someone made a nice recopilation calling him out on bullshit :godzing:

Quick Question:
I know the game will have supernatural elements, cause of the official ghost character you can see in the page of th game.
However I am wondering if Fun Girl is related with the story of the game or she is a extra challege for the game like the Nemesis Girl.
"journalist that covered games where gameplay is explicitly about sexualized minors"
Wow then I guess Jeff "Gal Gun 2 Creeper Cam" Gerstmann is a pedophile too!

I am very skeptical of anything that uses kiwifarms as a source for anything

KiwiFarms was a piece of shit forum. But their detective/investigative skills on internet nobodies is top-tier.
Also, since Xephon is a pretty active streamer (thanks /v/), and is pretty bad with trimming unflattering clips, the whole "IM SO TIRED GUYZ I CAN'T CODE" excuse is ridiculous.
Yeah the first two thirds is fine because it picks apart his lame excuses and stuff. But digging around for character flaws just seems weird to me, I dunno.
Tbh the idea of looking up a schoolgirl's skirt to take a photo turned me off of the game instantly, and that's the action of, not the nuance. It's not defensible by any means because Yanderedev certainly went through with coding and had it in mind, and it's just disgusting to try to incorporate it into a videogame and try to pass it off as normal.

I imagine its because its an anime trope and its a game that parodies anime tropes
The thing is that in Japan, fanservice of underaged characters (even beneath their own legal marriage ages) is pretty commonplace because it sells and they have very different standards. Even series that are fairly modest tend to get fanservicey merchandise. It's just that, parody or not, when you take these tropes and try to sell it to an American audience, we've got an incredibly different set of standards where even remotely thinking sexually about someone beneath 18 is incredibly risque and problematic due to legal standards and moral teachings.
It's hard to write that off as merely parody to the non-niche audience.

I'm just believing stuff that is properly sourced, the rest can be taken with a grain of salt.
They made another video too (warning earrape too):

"The outcome was pretty good for me! The fans wanted me to play more videogames, so I will spend four hours now!"
How convenient for him, he was streaming already before the poisoned polls, but now he's got the permission!
I wonder if he'll keep up the "working 12h a day all week all year" now, still.
Also, taking it with a grain of salt since there's no visual proof yet, but he set himself a $3.5k wage out of his patreon. That's $20 hourly, for a guy who still relies on volunteer work, giving them the 'leftovers' if ever (the V.A. of the girl apparently hasn't get paid yet).
Idk, maybe I'm biased since getting $1000 monthly here is a blessing nowadays (and something not many people will see in most jobs), but it rubs me the wrong way that he gets 3.5x that when he has "made 0 progress on Osana (the rival) in the past two weeks" and relies on free work.

Honestly the problem is the people who follow the guy's work (IE: the patreon fans/twitch viewers, reddit fans and the /v/idyafags) are starting to wise up to the bullshit Xephon has been saying. I think this time he may have bitten off more than he can chew, especially with the whole 'LETS PETITION TWITCH TO CHECK ON GAME" thing recently making people look at the game, and the dev's ideas for new features from a different perspective.

ALSO: Here's NewYandereDev's call out to Xephon's bullshit: A almost carbon copy of the (early) Yandere Sim mechanics (in C#) done in a hour.

Someone needs to fill me in here, I think I've missed a crutial point somewhere. Who is Xephon? Is it the dev or a critic of some sort?
As far as i know Xephon is Yanderedev
And people are pretty much judging some of the things he does through that
So what exactly is going on here? Is yanderedev talking reason and shit at the same time?
A lot of excuses that people are calling him out for since apperantly even though he claims to work on the game all day he still streams a lot
Also a lot of other weird things where outside of the Yanderedev account he's a bit of a cunt
I mean considering it took 2 years for the main goal of dealing with your rival to get implemented, idk why people are surprised he comes off as a slacker.
The general point I'm getting from the thread is that what was once an interesting and humorous indie prospect that used the Yandere trope of japanese cartoon culture is now turning into another patreon miliking/fraud case
The guy's allowed to have a life, but objectively it seems like he's both lying about how much time he's dedicated to developing the game and that he is not developing it sustainably or competently
It's really the lying that's frusterating, he made it sound as if he was working day and night losing sleep on something that taking so long that someone managed to catch up to him quickly, and when he's presented with evidence he just acts as if it never existed. There's nothing wrong with playing video games or taking time off, just be honest about it
[editline]20th February 2017[/editline]
I had a small interest in the game when it first started developing but I lost it quickly once you kill someone because that's all there was to it. I"m not sure where the state it's in is at now but I just feel like it took too long to get here
As a 1MA amateur hobbyist game developer, I think he's just burned out on the project. It's something that I can totally sympathize with when projects end up ballooning to as big as Yandere sim has. The money what's keeping him going though, even if he's not enjoying it or doing it for the same reasons as he started.
It's really demoralizing and he's between a rock and a hard place.
[editline]20th February 2017[/editline]
Although truth be told I haven't watched any of the latest battery of videos. I'm just going based on the previous videos I've seen and the conversation around them. So I could just be full of it.

Oh god the guy's gonna make a rival game according to his comments :v: This'll get interesting in the coming months, not sure what to make of it
It just seems to me he's too stubborn to get any other programmers to help him and it's way too much of an undertaking for him.
I mean, it is working in his favor, so it's pretty fishy.

Yeah that's a serious fault of his. It's another one that I can completely understand, but when his project is at the scale his is at, and the fact that he's actually getting enough money to pay somebody (even if it's not a lot), he really should hire help.
I'm a firm believer of Hanlon's Razor and I find Yanderedev's plights and situation way too relatable for me to think he's just a scammer who is doing all of this with the intent to deceive and make money.
Well, he sat up a poll in his latest video asking what he should do in the future, and the poll leaned heavily on him getting the first rival into the game and use it as a demo in kickstarter. So I get the impression that the game is going in the right direction. Or I might just be full of shit and be completely wrong. :conspiratard:

He said in a livestream that the polls said to go to a video game company....despite it not saying that.
So he plans to go to a game company.
Well rip yandere sim I guess. Sold by a dev that no longer gave a shit to a publisher that never gave a shit.
Just realized YDD is a mod in one of my favorite twitch streams, CarcinogenSDA.

Carci told him to get out and back to work on his game. Jokingly, but still. :buddy:
I think what i just dislike about most of this is that he really just hid his past identity by rebranding himself under Yanderedev
So it was fishy from the start, and that's kind of shit if you ask me
What was his past identity?
What was his past identity?
EvaXephon
basically he was a creep
