Yandere Simulator: She's talking to Senpai. That's unacceptable Edition

If you had a focused and experience game dev, or a small team, you could get this done in about a year. Get the first game that lays down all the basic fundamentals and concepts built up and go bigger and better with the sequel.
You dont need a town, you don't need a cafe minigame. He's letting this drag on because he's essentially getting money for fuck all.
The problem is that he's having too many ambitions and needs for one first game
Especially considering how he expects volunteers to provide high quality assets

I'm getting that feeling though. For a guy who's doing this for the first time (supposedly), he's got a whole lot of ideas and trying to bank on all of it the first go. A better idea would be to release the game now, then update the game with the new features to give it more replayability. If No Man's Sky can do it, he can too.
Well, I think of it this way: If it goes gold and is good, I'm okay with that. If it goes gold and is bad, I am only going to be mildly disappointed by a waste of a good concept. If it is never complete, I don't care as much, because it just gets added to the ever growing list of Never-Ever Done Games.
Really, it's a win no matter what.

I'm scared by the amount of effort put into this video.

At worst, misspent time. At best, expansion pack/sequel material.

At the rate things are going in terms of updates, the answer should be disappointingly obvious which that is.
So I'm assuming by the last couple of posts that things are going downhill now. What a Shame.
It's been a while since I followed the games progress by the Dev's Youtube channel.

Nah, it's just /v/tards throwing FUD at this game as usual.
Nah, it's just /v/tards throwing FUD at this game as usual.
this game has been feature creeping for a year now. He's broken a promise made in his polls, and apparently hasn't learned a thing from any of the things people have called him out for.
It's not FUD to doubt Xephon at this point.

That your calling him xephon says a lot more about where your motivation here lies than your actual criticisms. obviously hes far from perfect but the grudge you have about something long since resolved by the involved parties is creepy.
Programing man wants more NEET money, demands further work from artists for delaying purposes.

Although, I go agree that style rework of a deal of assets would benefit the game greatly, especially since a lot of folks point to the fact that those assets are derivatives of Unity store ones, IIRC.
Is it too much to ask for the art style change and mini games to halt for a bit for the main product can be worked on? Also, what did happen to the name change he was thinking about way back? It sounds like he dropped it.
I'm feeling like part of the long dev time is because he's incapable of leaving things unfinished
Or rather, his priorities seem all over the place and a bit high expectations

Feature creeps incoming.

Not even that. I feel he's trying to go for P5 fans (and generally Persona fans) by promising "It's just like Persona, but different!".
I love the smell of 4chan Fried FUD in the morning.
endless trash
Maybe he should just work on his initial idea before he keeps trying to add more shit on his list
This is why it's taking forever for anything, the man jumps from idea to idea so much, there's a lack of focus

"Where did that idea come from? Persona" - YandereDev, at least 50 times in the beginning of this video. Could condense that entire segment really fast by saying "multiple features like the day to day transition, interface design, progression design, etc. are inspired by Persona". YandereDev has always had a huge problem with his videos having a much longer runtime than they should but this particular segment just drove me insane. I remember why I didn't keep up with the development of this game, not gonna waste 26 minutes if the first 2 are like that

Not really a problem, by extending it to 10 minutes or more, he can add pre-and mid-roll ads, raking in even more money for his tip jar (estimated between $1.7k and 27.8k/mo).
On top of his $5k (or $3.5k with taxes IIRC) from Patreon, monthly too.
On top of the chump change from his Twitch 4h streams.
I sometimes wonder why people still insist on supporting this honestly
Progress on development is real slow with a lot of excuses while it's obvious he doesn't just only work like he claimed to
I haven't really watched the latest update but it feels like fishing for pity at some points
I think what always makes me laugh is Yandere Dev saying he'll never add nonviolent solutions because that's not the core point of the game. Then he goes on to make several ways to get rid of competition that doesn't involve killing them.
I wouldn't be surprised if progress wasnt made any time soon. There just needs to be someone to make the kind of game he's not really trying to make yet trying to make to steal his thunder.
But even then, the damage is done.
I've been too interested in the game and its development to completely abandon it and I do see merit in him analyzing P5 to compare, similar to what he did with Hitman, but I've long since given up on hopes of getting the full game in any reasonable time frame, or ever.
If it comes out i'll be happy to play it, and I genuinely want him to succeed and so far have enjoyed watching it grow, but the snails pace gets more and more tiresome.

I don't really agree with that, he's been a huge fan of Persona for a long time. Makes sense to me a game with a similar setting would just kinda naturally end up using some similar ideas.

I mean I still am supportive of the game and don't agree with a lot of the flak thrown his way but I don't think throwing every negative thing as FUD is very helpful.

IIRC, there was a person doing the exact same thing and he got a team and they started making a lot of progress on their version really fast

Oh you mean the game I was talking about a page back?
Yeah after the big fight I was talking about tiwht the artists and the writers the game just caved in on itself.

Wow, who could have seen that coming. [sp]/s[/sp]
Guys making that had no real stake in what they were making. It was entirely fueled by spite.
