Wow, who could have seen that coming. [sp]/s[/sp] Guys making that had no real stake in what they were making. It was entirely fueled by spite.
Actually it was fueled by people who wanted a complete game in a year rather a incomplete one in three. Besides, the point of the other game was just a "this took a year to get these featured, but it literally can take 3 days" type of call out. Heck even the fact they made a decently made MC when this game is still using base unity store assets

That project had no reason to exist beyond sticking it to an enemy of a little shithole called /v/.

That project had no reason to exist beyond sticking it to an enemy of a little shithole called /v/.
I mean if you look at the original concept art for the protagonist of the other game, along with the 2 tech demos the dev put out before the project imploded, it didn't really look as 'soulless' as you make it out to be. [t]http://i.imgur.com/dffwchf.png[/t] And that first concept then evolved into this character right here that the 3d model would have been based on (as you could see in the last pages video about it) [t]http://i.imgur.com/VfC6k8f.jpg[/t]
honestly really like those two more than the model used in the current game (if that's for yandere sim or the other project)
honestly really like those two more than the model used in the current game (if that's for yandere sim or the other project)
Those were the concept arts for the game that was "a soulless rip off from a shithole called /v/" Meanwhile, the main character for this game has been stuck looking like a basic unity store asset for 3 years.
I mean, that's cool, a team of people can do more than some dude with a bunch of volunteers. More at 11, I guess? I don't get the point. The other project is dead, and YanSim is still alive. Get at least something out there, if you want to compete. As far as anyone's concerned, that project never went anywhere.
Good news (or bad if you didn't like to hear about it I guess): Apparently the other game (the one with the infighting art team/writers) is back under development! Also, it has a new logo! Here's a modelling livestream (with the new protag + Love Interest) and some more model art! [sp]Its nice to know people who know people that apparently spread FUD.[/sp]
That's good. Two games is better than one.
Maybe it'll make YandereDev pick up the pace?
Maybe it'll make YandereDev pick up the pace?
I mean it could also make salt into gold too but that might be more probable.

I feel like there's some irony in him thinking making DLC before finishing the core game is wrong :v:

Oh god thats like another actual year+ of dev timefor (mostly) unneeded bullshit. The only thing that should be there is the visible traits of the character's club and a tutorial. Thats it. No hair side-quests or drama-leader haircoding or whatever the hell is next.

[editline]19th May 2017[/editline] Like it or not boyo, if he doesn't expand on things, then this game has no reason to exist. The niche for "Hitman" got filled by a game called "HITMAN™" last year.

He really is the modern day Peter Molyneux.
I can't wait to see this game done in 2020
He really is the modern day Peter Molyneux.
Peter at least has released his games after hyping them up.
I can't wait to see this game done in 2020
So, On-Schedule then?
Man Yandere dev is really the Idea guys, at some point someone needed to stop him and said that's enough.
Man Yandere dev is really the Idea guys, at some point someone needed to stop him and said that's enough.
Should've been a year or so ago
So, On-Schedule then?
it's not like it's in active development so there really is no schedule
Should've been a year or so ago
I mean if he did that he wouldn't be paid 2k+ a month for doing fuck all! Truly the hardest decision of his life. /s
Apparently he's getting a lot of criticism because the silhouettes he used for his DLC characters are taken from artists without their permissions and he sees nothing wrong with it .
Apparently he's getting a lot of criticism because the silhouettes he used for his DLC characters are taken from artists without their permissions and he sees nothing wrong with it .
To add more detail: In his new video, he apparently stole a ton of anime art from devaintart for his "DLC Characters", but covered the art in the black paintcan tool and got rid of major details from each. He didn't cite where he got the art, or even credit the artists for the silhouette. Examples below: [t]http://68.media.tumblr.com/ffcbc571fa859dfa9c680fcbc0316e14/tumblr_inline_oq59igkkLu1twqkxy_500.png[/t] [t]http://68.media.tumblr.com/2359408baf160e658a6305d023c9c819/tumblr_oq48slhKY51vuxf7ko1_500.png[/t] [T]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/aceattorney/images/a/ae/Officer_Byrde.png/revision/latest?cb=20140621234849[/T] [sp]1-4 are all stolen, 1, 3 and 4 did not get consent or permission to the guy, and two is a fucking in game image from Phoenix Wright. 5 is his original concept art[/sp] He's responded to this by saying by admitting he did take the assets, and that he's like Andy fucking Warhol for going to town on another person's art with the paint can tool, and doesn't need to credit the artists (or even apologize to them for using their art without their permission) because it's "fair use" .
Xephon- All he did was trace over someone else’s photograph with different colors and then duplicated it a few times. Is this “art theft”? No, it’s “fair use”. Andy (Worhol) significantly changed the original work. By altering the colors, duplicating it, and arranging the duplicates, Andy created something new, something that can no longer be considered the property of the original photographer. It doesn’t matter whether or not he had the photographer’s permission, and the original photographer has no right to claim that his work was “stolen” by Andy. ..... “Nature of the work used” - A judge would consider whether the images were private (hidden from the world) or public (available to the world). All of the images I used were publicly available images. One was an “adoptable”, two were non-profit fan art, and another was promotional artwork for a video game. Because all of these images were public, this increases the likelihood that a judge would rule this “fair use”. “The amount of the portion used in relation to the work as a whole.” - What “amount” of the artwork did I use? Silhouettes. Not color, not linework, not shading, not facial expression, nothing that makes up the “heart” of the image…I only used one thing - general shape. Furthermore, these are not famous silhouettes (like the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head). I doubt that anyone immediately identified any of those images from memory. I am fairly certain that people had to do some degree of research in order to find these images. As I said above, the images appeared for 17 seconds in a video that was 17:20 minutes long. Because I used incomplete replicas of images very briefly in a video that was about a completely different topic altogether, it is very likely that a judge would rule this “fair use”. ..... To call this “art theft”, you’d need to have an overly simplistic, black-and-white view of the world, and completely ignore the concepts of “transformative works” and “fair use”. Everyone who is freaking out about this is starting drama just for the sake of having some drama to talk about. This is not a big deal. This is a trivial matter. This is a non-issue.
EXCEPT YOU STILL NEED TO CITE YOUR SOURCES AND GET PERMISSION FOR IT. I MEAN FOR FUCKS SAKE IT'S BASIC ARTISTIC COURTESY. [SP]But wait this is yandere sim, which has been using Stock assets for the last *THREE YEARS*[/SP]
Out of curiosity, do you actually care about this game or are you just here to carry out your 4chan vendetta?
I mean I'm interested in the game but if he's doing shitty stuff he should be called out for it.
I don't have a vendetta? I actually want the game to succeed but there's just a lot of things worth criticizing and I figured it was worth adding to the discussion since the thread moves slow.
Out of curiosity, do you actually care about this game or are you just here to carry out your 4chan vendetta?
Do you always have to come out and post the same "It's just 4chin being 4chin" line every time a legitimate criticism comes up? I know people who get their art stolen a lot. Having it stolen and basically monetized by some chucklefuck is a bad thing to happen to artists and content creators. Also, What kind of dev doubles down and claims he's Andy Warhol?
