I wonder if we can reduce the penalty for the rumoring student by sending rumors against them.
I wonder what is the reputation of the cult members, especially the leaders,it should have been -100 for "SCARY AND CREEPY PEOPLE" :v: Of course obligatory fuck senpai i want to date the occult club leader :v:
Here's the poll. http://strawpoll.me/6478658
It took Undertale 2 years after its Kickstarter to finally be released. And besides, remember what Shiggy said; "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

UT took two years with money, but only Toby Fox doing most of the stuff. If YandereDev takes more professionals with that money, and shit gets done quicker... Idk, I wouldn't be against it.
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
Duke Nukem Forever, Colonial Marines, Battlecruiser 3000...
Duke Nukem Forever, Colonial Marines, Battlecruiser 3000...
Or you could name several of the many, many games where a delay meant a great game came out instead.
Duke Nukem Forever, Colonial Marines, Battlecruiser 3000...
Don't know about the last two, but Duke Nukem Forever wasn't being worked on all that time.
Don't know about the last two, but Duke Nukem Forever wasn't being worked on all that time.
The point is continued delays, not the fact that it switched devs all the time. It's still a very generic saying, and it doesn't even apply to YandSim, since it doesn't follow a release timetable of the same kind as most AA or AAA games.

DNF had probably one of the worst development cycles a game could have, if not the worst. A:CM was handled by a developer who didn't care and handed off to another studio without any concern to its creation, and Battlecruiser 3000AD was created by one of the most egotistical fuckwits video games has ever had the displeasure of hosting. The delayed game saying has nothing to do with any of those three games.

Although the fact that YanDev has to literally dedicate his life to the game is another layer of the problem. Cheers on knowing Battlecruiser, tho.
Duke Nukem Forever, Colonial Marines, Battlecruiser 3000...
The reason for the delay is pretty important you know....

I think starting the Kickstarter early would be a good course of action. YandereDev has shown himself as a hard worker already, so it's very unlikely that he'll just take the money and run. 2019 is a long time to wait, and while I do want the game to be as polished as possible, bringing in more help earlier likely wouldn't affect the game's quality. The only downside I can see is if something catastrophic happens and the game simply can't be completed for some reason, thus leaving a bunch of money to waste.
So you're saying you just wanted to undermine a quote - one that has plenty of examples to reinforce it - to make no point at all?
The point is that he's stuck with this game for years, even if he doesn't want to be. It's not just the game taking long, it's the fact that the guy has to dedicate his life to it, just for us. And the quote simplifies the situation too much, and the examples I give prove it wrong as well.
I really think Kickstarter is the best way to go. There are already tons of fans and as soon as this goes up on kickstarter, tons of anime websites will probably link to it. I would personally donate at least 20 dollars to it.

Should he just ditch that stable income for a risk at Kickstarter?
He already has the Patreon. Should he just ditch that stable income for a risk at Kickstarter?
It's a steady flow that can keep him set on working on the game full time alone, but it's not enough to hire a team of good programmers/modelers/animators to hop along to speed up the development, and volunteer help can only help so much. There's still tons of work to do both on the code itself and the assets themselves also need revamping eventually. A Kickstarter and a good team would tremendously help on development time and potentially the quality.
I feel like something he should try out in earnest is to appoint a secretary of sorts so that he can dedicate more time toward game development and less time sifting through e-mails and communication. It'd have to be someone close to him already though, because having it be a volunteer presents issues. Someone who's helping just to get themselves an ego boost, or even filtering what feedback and content gets through to YD due to a self-entitlement issue. Plus the risk of favoring any friends who are also volunteering over a more-qualified volunteer. Then there's the risk that all volunteers have: they can just disappear due to outside obligations. Having the person be someone that YD already knows, trusts, and has a general understanding of what he's looking for would drastically reduce the strain from appointing someone to that position. Logistically, it'd also help him out greatly if he had a dedicated email set up for volunteer contributions, that way it's far easier to sift through them and ensures that they don't get shuffled in with the general feedback that floods his inbox. He could go as far as to set up multiple emails for different things such as feedback, bug reports, suggestions, and volunteer work. I want to see how such a system would affect his work efficiency. If the time figures he's presented are accurate, cutting down time spent communicating with everyone would give him the freedom to meet his self-appointed milestones in a more timely manner so greatly that he'd be free to take weekends as free days so he doesn't burn himself out.

He makes plenty of progress on the game. Patreon is fine. We should just accept that games take time. Potential drama, kickstarter rewards and deadlines won't benefit the project.

Literally LoveSick in that game.
Lovesick is actually a really good title for this game
Lovesick is actually a really good title for this game
I prefer his alternative, Lovesick: Yandere Simulator. The best of both worlds: gives it the dark theme he wants, while keeping the previous name everyone's used to. Plus it looks awesome.
Were people really that attached to the title? I had always assumed it was just a placeholder.
I completely understand his concern there and think it should be changed. Lovesick is quite good. Yandere: Lovesick is also pretty nice, but then you're sort of repeating meanings in the same title.
