DM-Pyramid was a very unique map. Not only did you rise up via the gravity lift but you could float underneath the structure as well. I have some crazy memories of that level. Some of my favorites were domination, in an egyptian level. Forget what it was called. But it was fun, it had so many different paths to the points.
So... when are we playing? I love this game.

Is there some huge map pack with all the officially released maps? I hate having to get all of them every time I install.
Unreal has amazing and beautiful skies for a 98 game
I got the Unreal Deal Pack when it was on sale. I can say, I can enjoy this great series once again. I also remember how much I hate Domination. I don't know, it makes me lose the patience easily that mode.
If someone who knows how to start up a good server actually does, what would we be playing, game mode-wise?
DM, TDM, Monster Hunt, CTF?

As far as mods and custom maps and shit, I'm very much out of the loop seeing I spent most of my time just playing with bots (it was a time of my life where I was scared of public servers).
Are mods and shit actually widely used? I was always particular to Monster Hunt, Apocalypse Weapons, U4E, and basically anything that adds weapons so I can make custom weapon drops for "themed" matches.
Anyone know how to fix the weird mouse lag UT gets?
Everything that would normally cause it is disabled, and I've tried several different renderers to no avail

Try windowed mod,Its the only way it worked for me.
Feels like our computers are too powerfull for the lil old engine

Use Opengl, that fixed the mouse lag for me.

Depends on what kind of mods and the game.
For Unreal Tournament 1999, I'm not too certain. Unreal Tournament 2004, I would guess Assassin for game modes.
Mods to me is like a grab bag, there is plenty of goodies inside but you don't know which one you'll get (In this case, like or enjoy).

I love how some of the Unreal 1 weapons look over their UT counterparts, even if some of them are slightly lower poly then the UT99 versions. The minigun and razorjack are especially my favs.
Sweet christ. I just installed UT99 again and good god am I rusty, even against bots.
I might need a few days of practice if I'm not to embarrass myself with you folks if we're ever to get a server going.
UT99 works perfectly on Windows 8, it's like they were made for each other.
So I just bought Unreal Tournament 2004 and I'd never played it before.
I played a normal connect-the-dots match and I was like "This game is pretty cool."
And then I loaded up the Assault Space Combat map, not knowing that there was Space Combat in this game.
This game is now my favourite game in the history of games.
U4E fortress on face, so good.

Very arguable. I've had much fun playing Ballistic Weapons with the U4E game type "Gateways".
I have this Unreal collection or something installed, has all the games from Unreal to UT2K4, it's great. It even has the full soundtrack as a seperate CD!
If anyone likes Fps's they should at least try Unreal tournament 99 / 04

Only plus is character are smaller.

I actually really liked UT3, it didn't feel like the older ones at all. But I still think it felt pretty solid - I was a bit displeased that so few played it at launch :c
I've got UT99, UT2K4 and 3, but 3 is uninstalled
3 would have been much better if it wasn't for the completely terrible singleplayer and the GoW-esque character designs
still, I play UT99 and 2K4 a fair bit still, so I'm down for playing either whenever maybe
also should totally find and reinstall Clone Bandits for 2K4 - that shit was the best
UT3 isn't bad, I think. I like the tripod vehicles, those are fun.
I've lost my 2k4 CD though. :(
