After playing mostly RPGs these past months I played a few matches of Unreal Tournament, I've had so much trouble getting used to the game again, I also can't seem to find the right sensitivity for me, I usually play with a pretty high sensitivity but adjusting it to not feel slow for me yet also being able to keep my crosshair on my enemy without overshooting it is tough. For now sensitivity of 11 and and an acceleration of 2 is almost right, I just need to tweak it a tiny bit more and I'd be good. Had to lose my mouse pad though, because it felt like it slowed my aim down a bit.

Some of their mousemats are incredibly smooth and produce little friction.
Someone did a female Necris skin based off of Alanna from UT3. It actually looks pretty fitting. [t]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Dropkick60606/alanna_124512_zpsf2bulvtu.jpg~original[/t] Also, Kazeo's working on a brute sculpture and AndyN's working on a krall sculpture. I've seen BioTower in the files for the editor for awhile, Its pretty cool to see it in game now since it was kind of an interesting idea for a casual, gimmick map. Its also really cool that it's visually finished already as well! [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] Also I watched yesterday's livestream, Tuba is the next map to be artpassed.
Especially considering that the UT4 team enabled team colors by default for the FFA mode for this update, I'm hoping that they plan on having at least 4 team colors like what UT99 had for more variety.

The guy working on that DM-Broken map posted some updated pics. [t]https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=28416&stc=1[/t] [t]https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=28417&stc=1[/t] [t]https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=28418&stc=1[/t] He says that he was just messing around with the editor in those screenshots, but I feel like they're still worth posting.
This map theme gives me DM-Peak vibes.
It really does feel like UT99, but is it just me or do the textures kind of look cartoony? Something about them looks odd.
It really does feel like UT99, but is it just me or do the textures kind of look cartoony? Something about them looks odd.
It looks fine in general, though there are some places where it looks like the textures react badly to the lightning or maybe they just lack details.
it looks like they have normal maps but just flat diffuse
NU Music did a redux of Go Down.
Holy shit, Malcolm's in the new FF7 remake.
Are the acceleration settings not working properly at the moment? I tried copying my settings from Quake as close as possible (400 dpi, 3 sens, .1 accel) and the acceleration is extremely heavy-handed. I tried using a number of different values for the acceleration max, but its always the same result.
Apparently, Gamefront's going to be shutting down on April 30th. http://www.gamefront.com/gamefront-is-closing-down-april-30-2016/ I know that a bunch of UT99 and UT2004 mods were posted there, so y'all might want to start downloading whatever maps or skins that are only on that one website, if you can.
So the new Dm-Tube looks nice. https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/forums/showthread.php?23576-Help-us-name-DM-Tuba! Someone suggested DM-Cove, and that actually feels rather fitting. DM-Echoes also sounds like a pretty neat name.
God damn, these HD models that Rooster is working on are really coming along well. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17002839/UT99HD/FlakCannon4.jpg[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17002839/UT99HD/RocketLaunch04.jpg[/t]
Looks like they finally implemented that robot guy from the concepts (e.g. around 0:57).
Holy fuck. I was watching some random and seemingly unrelated videos of voice actor comparisons to fictional characters and I came across this: Go to 1:06 [sp]It's fuckin' Alexander Brandon[/sp]
check. :^)
I got bored and made this.
So the Steam Summer Sale is going on. This is a good opportunity to get my 3 brothers UT99 so that we can play the game together.
I did a fake lighting trick using SpecialLit in UED2. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/259336546332288626/0D94AD65FF8DC42D094E1265081BA41911195C44/[/t]
Does anyone have any experience with hosting servers? Me and some of my brothers were going to host a private server so that we could choose whatever map we want and fuck around, but my older brother seemed to be having a lot of trouble figuring out how to get it working and he says that he's been looking all over the internet. I wasn't sure what he was doing exactly, but he was doing something external rather than just clicking on "Start Multiplayer Game" in the menu. Eventually, we ended up deciding to go on random servers and put hold on the private server for the day. [editline]26th June 2016[/editline] For example, we've tried to connect to the server via IP, but then we would be stuck on the "connecting" screen. What's weird is that apparently other unwanted people were able to get on his server earlier when he first started the server from the "Start Multiplayer Game" option in the multiplayer menu (Although, I'm not sure if he was referring to actual players or just the bots when he said this).

Gotta forward default ports 7777-7781 UDP and 27900 UDP. You can think of it as people are requesting to join the game by sending a packet to your router. Since forwarding wasn't set up it doesn't know which computer to send it to and drops it. Port forwarding can be done by putting the IP of your default gateway into your browser, that information can be found by typing "ipconfig /all" into cmd.exe or "route PRINT -4" into MSYS bash shell. You'll want to set up a static IP for your server as well, so that restarting the server won't mess up the port forwarding. This can usually be done via router or in the server itself. When hosting the server, you must ensure that your external IP is being broadcasted (something that's not 10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x), else others cannot connect. People on the same network, even without port forwarding, can connect by connecting to the local IP of the computer.
Other things to note when hosting UT99 If you use mods/custom mutators, you need to check their documentation for which .u files need to be added to your [ServerPackages] section of UnrealTournament.ini, or they won't work correctly. If you're not sharing files beforehand, the client will try to download missing files from the server, but this is limited to 4KB/s. A better method is to set up HTTP redirect: http://wiki.unrealadmin.org/Redirection_and_Compression I use a batch script to compress and dump all the necessary files into a \Downloads folder that I can then point my webserver to: http://pastebin.com/tdC14MgY And I just use https://sourceforge.net/projects/civetweb/ (formerly mongoose) to host a quick and dirty webserver for the purpose.
I'm working on a industrial lightsaber model possibly for UT99. [t]http://i.imgur.com/F7M6WLJ.png[/t] The only reason that it's high poly and not low poly like the rest of the models in the game is that I'm currently trying to get a feel for the design, and also maybe so that I could use it for baking the textures to the low poly version (I might just paint the textures by hand, though).
I want to do some co-op in UT99 with friends. I only know of Monster Hunt as the best Co-op mod for it. Are there any other UT99 co-op mods still available out there? And are there any large compilations of maps for Monster Hunt? Back when I used to play it non-stop I had over 30 maps of those but they were downloaded directly from servers.
