They're still moving the engine to DX12 so expect it to be a while before the engine stops getting a minor overhaul every build.
Also loving the new Shock Rifle sounds for when you combo people. amazing sound work.

They just want the automatic instakill out of DM. I can't blame them, the sound was really annoying.
I like the flak cannon and the shock rifle. I'm not crazy about the rest of the designs. The translocator for example is just ridiculous looking, and even the most grounded design, the Enforcer, still somehow lacks the attitude of its '99 counterpart.

The translocator, bio rifle, and minigun are all placeholder models left over from UT3

The hammer jump is still in the game. In fact, it's specifically mentioned in the weapon tutorial for the impact hammer. They only removed the Hammer from the free for all and Flag Run, so it's still in Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
I'm glad that the game now boots you straight into the movement tutorial when you start the game for the first time, unless you're over a certain skill level. I just figured out how to wall-run a few weeks ago, so that should be extremely helpful for new players, unless they just completely skip it.

It really makes me wish that custom materials weren't broken on the Mac version of UT4. Even simple material edits seem to suffer from this.
It's especially a huge problem with DM-Salt, because the mist particles use custom materials, and instead of it being a subtle visual effect on my end, it's more like massive fucking squares with checkerboard textures constantly blocking my view.

I think it is possible to get it as a gift on Steam, if not. Also, I'm not totally satisfied with this current setup since it seems like it'd be easy to get confused by the red team skin with purple being a combination of red and blue, and quite frankly, the black team skin is kinda ugly looking.
I was thinking about going with this setup instead:
None = Purple
Red = Orange
Blue = Cyan
Green = Teal-Green
Gold = Lime/White (Not really sure which one to go with)
Apparently, UT99 runs pretty horribly on his Windows 10 computer. I've been looking around on Google, but what do you guys think he should to fix that other than getting an updated renderer for the game, which is probably what we're going to do?
Just using the renderer should fix that
If it's a laptop though, make sure it's using the GPU and not running off integrated graphics or a low power mode

Apparently, just changing the renderer to the OpenGL renderer that came with UT GOTY seemed to have fixed it.
If I find out he's getting more performance problems, I'll be sure to let him know about using that fix.
