That's part of why I was so annoyed with my placement. I was hoping for a fresh start like they implied.

blanket statements because players in your skill bracket really don't represent much of the game.
[del]Except I'm pretty sure most of the players are under 2k aren't they?[/del]
apparently I'm thinking of under 3k
Don't individual stats also determine your placement?

This shit's broken
EDIT: I guess S3 placements are just normal matches that keep your S2 MMR but hide it, I don't think that's how S2 placements worked
iddqd probably did well in his games even though he lost? I'm thinking that means something
I don't even want to do my placement matches, it's always been a horrible experience.
I could get 10\10 wins and i'll probably end up <3k since i don't really play competitive and such, that's how it'll go.
ez gm bois

Whoah 5 matches into Placements and i already got fucking sick of Competitive
For fuck sake, i got 7 win and 3 defeat and it placed me in 1600 SR !
Last time i had 7 defeat and 3 win it placed me at 1760!
also, fuck D.VA ult. It made me lose my last game. We had 3 amazing push at the end - and they needed a D.Va ult to wipe us all. that show how much the enemy team depended on ult, otherwise it was a pretty good game.
We started like we were playing on attack; and we woke up and suddenly got a rush of skill and got the first and second point, THEN at the end very nears of them we get 3 fucking D.VA ult in our face each time we try to push it.
The cart goes backward way too fast.
playing comp in an asian server always brings out the worst of people
playing comp in an asian server always brings out the worst of people
I've tried playing against Koreans in both the EU and US servers. Most be even worse in the Asian servers :v:
it should be illegal to have matchmaking put the guy who was carrying your team in a placement game previously be put on the enemy team

Did you try avoiding it?
Did you try avoiding it?
Tell me how exactly could i avoid it when i'm in the chokepoint of numbani, in the middle of it. AND don't forget that the enemy is just around us attacking us too, so we either die because of the D.VA ult or because they killed me when i try to avoid it.
D.Va became too fucking powerful with her health buff. She didn't need it.

Its ok to abandon the objective for the moment if there's an exploding D.Va coming in
is there not supposed to be a "10 seconds remaining" said when its a tie breaker going on in comp? i was just on attack dorado and nothing at all was said when there was 10s remaining, we were all super focused so none of us even realized there was that little time left so it kinda fucked us over
Its ok to abandon the objective for the moment if there's an exploding D.Va coming in
but the thing is, we were all already fully into it, we were beating them and then SURPRISE D.Va, i find it quite unfair as that was the only thing who destroyed our team. she has done it 3 time, and those time were when we were pushing really hard and doing our best, and she just crushed them. we even had a GREAT overtime that ended with.. D.VA ult.
lmao a rein was constantly shitting on me for my healing as ana (most of which was when he was getting ulted by genji or im being harassed so i cant really heal, meanwhile i got the healing card at the end for 14k, and our mercy even said "thank god if i had to listen to soldier complain one more time"
I'm a pretty big D.Va player, I play most of my comp games with her, and I recently bought her golden guns - but I gotta say her ult is a bag of shit, and I'm sure 99% of D.Va players will agree with me on that. I find myself having to throw my ult from all sorts of wacky locations to actually be able to get kills, sliding them along walls mid-flight or flying behind the enemy and throwing it over some hidden wall in the corner.
Simply crouching behind the payload is enough to shield yourself from the big flashing green mech most of the time, and usually most maps have about 4 rooms linked to a payload path or a point meaning you can just duck into one of the many rooms for a few seconds as it blows up. Anyone who dies to a D.Va ult is usually just unlucky or have very little game / map awareness, and most players use her ult more for zone control at this point with any kill seen as an extra bonus. Her buffs were necessary, with the movement change being the real shining star - the health buff, like Oizen has said before, is rather minor considering the massive head hitbox D.Va still has.

That never happened with me. I mean, yeah, if the enemy is close to a cover they will survive, but honestly i haven't had much difficultie with D.VA ult. The enemy have to be engaged to someone other than you and it has to be from behind, and it has to be falling so it explode in a sphere i've noticed so they can't take covers behind the payload. On hanamura and volskaya, it is even easier to make D.VA ult.
But then again it might just be luck and i'm not a big D.Va player likes you.
How would you suggest a buff to it? Should D.VA ult be changed?

that was hard
Aw man, that old Reinhardt shield texture. I kind of miss it.

Looks hard to see through.
Yeah, definitely. And that's why they made it plain instead.
I just think it looks neat.

Ultimates in general are good by how much counters them.
D.Va's ult is countered by simple awareness and Tank Shields, so its really just a run of the mill procedure to get out of the way of one.
If your fighting anyone who's actually aware at this game, they'll most likely never die to a d.va ult. If the screaming Korean Girl and the giant glowing ball wasn't enough, theres quite literally a HUD element that points to where the explosion is.
Then everyone can go hide behind mandantory big shield man and the ult is wasted.
In comparison, you have something like Earth shatter, which is pretty much just as deadly, except its only countered by tank shields, and then only really by Reinhardt, and then you're only given 0.6 seconds to react to it.

I mostly use her ult as a free mech recall half the time.

I wasn't playing rein, nor the rein on my team was close to me, he was on the opposite side of the point.

Mei wall
Winston Barrier
Zarya Bubble
If you werent running at least one of these, you probably didn't lose because of the d.va

Stop. We didnt have a Mei, we didnt have a Winston, and at that moment we were only Road and Rein. But yeah, maybe it wasnt because of D.Va, i was always in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was on numbani btw.
Won my first placement match. I think I've peaked.
