Third game in a row the game fucking tricks me into thinking I am gonna win, what the fuck, do people play on shit at the start on purpose? first half of the fucking match is the easiest shit in the world then in the last 30 seconds it becomes impossible to defend/push and they win. in my last match we just had to push the cart 10 meters and we didn't even manage to do that how is that fucking possible

A melee brawl, literally? could be cool for a 2v2 mode One of the map will be the Overwatch HQ bar.
2 wins 8 losses, i fucking love comp

It's always like this. Jeff said there wasn't any script that changes the stats of the enemy player so they have higher damage, but i would swears to god there is considering how everyone wake up at the last second. We defend easily for the whole game... until the last 30 seconds. There, they will steamroll us. It happens way too frequently.
and 2450, ofc im fucking trash but at least comp should put me up against people around the same SR instead of 800 SR above me right?
This has been answered before but I cant find it.. If I get placed into plat, but then drop to gold, do i get the end of season comp points for gold or plat?

Got sorted into Gold. Carried 2 games - I am in Platinum :v:
Is it me or is the quality of the game starting to go down a bit? I haven't played much of the game at all (excluding this week the last time I played was when Ana released) but these new characters just seem out of place. And with the new map the cars seem out of place. (and don't even get me started on this "competitive" mode) I don't know maybe its just me but the quality has seem to gone down with launch.
[editline]1st December 2016[/editline]
that's kind of hot
a bit late to how IDDQD got 4400 with 2 - 8, imagine if he was placed into plat or diamond because of shitty placement teams, he would wreck those ranks and would easily go back to GM without effort and ruin experiences of those lower ranked players. It is important that the system takes into account of both S1 and S2 ranking because a new start would completly fuck over alot of people, placing people much lower than their ranks would make it so imba in the first 2 weeks

When is Aperture going to take a hint and go away
When is Aperture going to take a hint and go away
when oizen stops verbally (and literally) masturbating to dva in this thread
For fuck sake, i got 7 win and 3 defeat and it placed me in 1600 SR ! Last time i had 7 defeat and 3 win it placed me at 1760! also, fuck D.VA ult. It made me lose my last game. We had 3 amazing push at the end - and they needed a D.Va ult to wipe us all. that show how much the enemy team depended on ult, otherwise it was a pretty good game. We started like we were playing on attack; and we woke up and suddenly got a rush of skill and got the first and second point, THEN at the end very nears of them we get 3 fucking D.VA ult in our face each time we try to push it. The cart goes backward way too fast.
The entire game revolves around tactical use of ults
when oizen stops verbally (and literally) masturbating to dva in this thread
There is literally nothing wrong with liking D.Va
There is literally nothing wrong with liking D.Va
There is a massive problem with circlejerking her however.
[t]https://f.lewd.se/PgeodY_20161201205853_1.jpg[/t] Oh how I wish this shit wouldn't count in placement matches. Or at least there were some form of XP compensation, or just, something. Guess what, they left sometime during offence, which is pretty fucking lovely [t]https://f.lewd.se/xGbNM2_2016-12-0121-05-21.png[/t]
There is a massive problem with circlejerking her however.
Like this thread did with witch mercy?
There is a massive problem with circlejerking her however.
In this case, it's more of a pointjerk.
The entire game revolves around tactical use of ults
You are right, but when the entire round is decided by a ultimate (because mind you, they weren't really good at playing the game, nor using their ultimate) it get kind of frustrating. 3 push entirely destroyed by D.Va ult because we were too occupied trying to fight the enemy.
Like this thread did with witch mercy?
Pretty much yeah. Glad you seem self aware of the hypocrisy, now stop pointjerking
Like this thread did with witch mercy?
If They Are Allowed To Take A Piss, I Can Do It Too
every time I have seen Oizen post about D.Va is when its relevant and yet we have some people here already going back to the whole "its all they talk about!!!" thing there is nothing wrong with someone liking a hero anywho, i think it's actually a good thing that ults can change the outcome of a round - that's what they're there for. i'm pretty sure several times the Overwatch website itself has said ultimates are there to "change the tide of battle" - if an ultimate from Team A turns the tables in a teamfight and Team A wins, and that happens every teamfight, then it makes sense that they win the round.
You are right, but when the entire round is decided by a ultimate (because mind you, they weren't really good at playing the game, nor using their ultimate) it get kind of frustrating. 3 push entirely destroyed by D.Va ult because we were too occupied trying to fight the enemy.
Well I mean they allegedly wiped you three times with it according to you so it sounds like they were very good at using their ult. Why on earth were you trying to fight the enemy while a d.va was exploding?
You are right, but when the entire round is decided by a ultimate (because mind you, they weren't really good at playing the game, nor using their ultimate) it get kind of frustrating. 3 push entirely destroyed by D.Va ult because we were too occupied trying to fight the enemy.
if they weren't good at the game or good at using their ult then how come they completely shut down 3 pushes with it face it, the d.va knew when to use her ult and you guys couldn't hide from or counter it so you lost. we don't need to nerf an already underwhelming ult because you're bad at the game
From the Overwatch Reddit
Season 2 Problem Too many players were placed too high in the beginning of Season 2. "Another area of Competitive Play we’re trying to improve for Season 2 is how we distribute everybody into their Skill Tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc.) based on their SR. When Season 2 started, we had WAY more players in Gold and Platinum than we initially intended, and way fewer in Bronze and Silver. This was the result of how we calculated your initial SR for Season 2. We tried to partially reset player SR at the start of Season 2, but the results were not as we expected. Instead, below-average players started Season 2 at a higher SR than they should have been given their performance in Season 1. This meant that as they played in Season 2, their SR would often drop to a lower value, which didn’t feel great. It also meant that there was a much wider variation of skill in the Gold and Platinum tiers than we wanted. This is something we want to avoid in Season 3." Facts: 1) Your beginning Season 3 rank is NOT a full reset from your rank from Season 2. "First and foremost, we always want to provide the fairest matches that we can. Fair matches of skill between the teams provide the greatest chance for you to have fun in Overwatch. At the same time, we’d also like every new competitive season to feel like a fresh start. These two goals end up being somewhat contradictory. If we completely reset everyone’s Skill Rating (SR) at the start of a new season, then players of all skill levels would end up playing against each other and having poor quality matches until the system could reevaluate each player’s skill. Because of this, we don't fully reset your SR when a new season begins, and instead use your SR from the previous season as a starting point." This means that if you were playing at a Gold level in Season 2, going 10-0 in your Season 3 placements will not (should not) magically put in Diamond or Master. You'll still be placed among a Gold level. This also means your Season 2 rank weighs very heavily when determining your Season 3 rank. 2) The goal of Season 3 is to provide more balanced games by more evenly distributing the comp population. This is something we want to avoid in Season 3. After giving the Skill Rating system a major overhaul in Season 2, we noticed both the Gold and Platinum tiers were significantly overpopulated. This meant that some players were initially achieving inappropriately high skill ratings and then experiencing a downward adjustment within the first few matches of the season. This also meant that competition within the Gold and Platinum tiers could vary widely from match to match." 3) As a result, players in the lower to mid ranks (Plat and below) have a real chance in getting a Season 3 rank lower than their Season 2 rank. "As a result, we’re testing a different way of determining your starting SR for Season 3 on the PTR. We’re leaning more towards trying to keep things fair rather than giving everyone a fresh start. We’re also going to initially tune your SR to be slightly lower to start. In turn, fewer players should start the season having their Skill Rating drastically drop despite having close to even wins and losses. To address these issues, we’ve made some slight adjustments to the Skill Rating system—and, as a result, skill ratings will be more widely distributed across all tiers for Season 3. Many players will be ranked lower than expected after their Season 3 placement matches; however, this should normalize as the season progresses." Most posts I've seen complaining about the new ranks have had ranks somewhere around 100-300 SR below their Season 2 rank. This appears to be Blizzard's intention. 4) But you have an opportunity to climb back up! "This change will mean that some players will not start in the same tier for Season 3 that they were placed in for Season 2, and that your SR gains from winning will be a little higher at the beginning of the season. After you play enough matches, however, your SR gains and losses will go back to normal." This means players have an opportunity to climb back up to where they originally where at the end of Season 2. Conclusions Placement matches did have an effect on your Season 3 ranking, just not in the way it did during Season 2. In Season 2, they put you in a prospective SR. In Season 3, they're making sure you still belong at your season 2 rank.
So basically, the placement matches aren't real and instead are just continuations of your rank in S2, except you're more likely to lose points. It'll be easier to rise up for a period, however.
I don't understand it then. They want more people in bronze and silver. But ranks carry over.
