This means that if you were playing at a Gold level in Season 2, going 10-0 in your Season 3 placements will not (should not) magically put in Diamond or Master. You'll still be placed among a Gold level.
this really bothers me, what the hell is the point in the placement matches even?
Well I mean they allegedly wiped you three times with it according to you so it sounds like they were very good at using their ult.
Why on earth were you trying to fight the enemy while a d.va was exploding?
It's like torbjorn - Either you fight him and get shot by him and his turret and die, either you fight his turret and get shot by both and die
If i go away to take cover - Either i die because i couldnt take cover in time, either i die because i tried to take covers and the enemy killed me while i was trying to get to cover. So in any way, i just keep fighting and try to take one powerful hero with me in death.
Went 7 wins 3 looses, got ~3150, was ~3050 at end of s2 so it makes sence for me.
Though right now I am getting insane rank income from wins, ~50 per win opposed to ~20 from loss; i doubt its a streak effect as between those wins I had shamefull looses as well, anyone else experiencing this? Allready bumped myself to 3320 in one hour.
Why do you guys care? Just block Oizen and Aperture if you want.

season 3 already has far TOO many insta lock 76 mains who are shit
I keep seeing people on the subreddit complaining they're way lower than the previous season, and here I am getting pretty much the exact same rank of platinum that I had.

Seems like it was intended that people have 100 - 300 SR less than their previous season rank! I've been lucky tought, because i had only 150 SR removed.

That's funny because I managed to get around 300 more sr than the previous season with 5w/5l, where in the previous season I had 6w/4l.
I don't get this new rank placement at all.

Or altenatively you counter him because the turret can't dodge missiles/bombs/energy balls/etc
I can think of a single point in the entire game that torb's turret gets the chance to run amok where it's very difficult to destroy (Hangar on WP:GB)
Sounds like you're just super bad at the game and are making excuses instead of trying to get better.

Yeah, i'm working on getting better. This season will be much better, and it started really well with 7 win and 3 defeat in placement match. I'm gonna focus on playing more tanks, Reinhardt and Roadhog especially, Winston on KOTH map. Pharah is amazing but i don't know how to play against enemy pharah, i'm very bad at airshot and there's no way to train against flying bot. I've been destroyed as Pharah by an enemy Raptorion pharah. Well, this is not an excuse, but i was carefully watching the killfeed and it seems this pharah player wasn't doing great on the ground player, and i think he chose pharah to counters me first.
if your team was constantly being stopped by the same ult maybe that's a sign you should be looking out for said ult

Every time you bitch it's over things that can be easily avoided if you actually stuck with your team. Torb is good in 1v1 scenarios but gets absolutely shit on as soon as a team decides to act like a team. Dvas self destruct has so many outs it's ridiculous. Try sticking close to a teammate or two and maybe you'll stop being in the bottom 10% percentile

There should be hint about if the enemy has its ult ready to be activated.
How do you read anyway into player mind to know when they're going to ult? For reaper it's kind of easy they always Wraith form and then they ult, but what are some thing every player do that show that they got their ult ready?
by the way i meant to ask, ive seen this recently a game or two and im not sure what the hell it is, i sometimes see like a blue checkmark hovering over a single players head and im not sure what in the hell it is
Sames. I feel like I've gotten a lot better at her recently, like I've figured out how to utilise her best. Usually KotH or defence.
I started out "heh" at best, but then apparently got the hang of her. Sneaking past everyone and hacking their medkits and pumping their faces full of lead while they're hacked aswell is really fun. The relocation ability gives her soo much potential, especialy to land a surprise EMP or simply just to show up in unexpected places that others can't reach. Hope I can keep up playing well with her, and then maybe switch to comp, even though I'd probably not be able to use her there all that well.
Still hella fun to hack a genji mashing all the buttons trying to kill you :v:

I'm obviously not gonna list the signs for each hero, but just look out for people trying to get into position.
If you see a Mercy hiding far away from the team and just flying in every now and then to heal then running back, they probably have res. If you see a D.Va walking backwards from the bulk of a fight and they aren't just going to grab health or something and you're all grouped, assume they're going to ult, spread out. If you see a reinhardt trying to get in a position where you're all lined up, assume they're going to ult, spread out. It's pretty easy once you just look for really noticeable signs.

To be honest, somewhat of an unexpected post. Good on ya.
Whenever something (like the d.va ult) pisses you off, instead of blaming the enemy team or even thinking about them or their abilities at all, try to just look at the situation and what you need to do to handle it, play by play, focusing on counters. Assume that every hero in the game is balanced and learn their counters, and you'll climb very quickly.

Look for behavioral patterns, such as:
Lucio acting ballsier than usual
Reinhardt running at you without charging
Mercy hiding/flying into battle when almost nobody is alive
D.VA screaming NERF THIS before chucking a gigantic flashing bomb that explodes after four seconds (this one can be hard to notice)
Zarya existing

I wonder how RG4 feels about this

Kill cams reveal enemy ult.
Common sense can tell you whether they have it or not.
And if you're running a Roadhog you can expect them almost always have it.
I liked Soldier more when he was useless.

im not an expert at the game so people can add on or correct me but i usually put myself in the enemies shoes when i think they have ult (which, depending on the character, is every 1-2 minutes)
if im reaper i'll find a good spot to flank them, usually from above or behind. when i feel a reaper ult coming i'll take that into account, warn my team "hey reaper probably has ult keep an eye out" and i'll spread out from my team enough to not get caught in the bulk of it, but also still close enough to make a play if i have to
if d.va is overextending or flying into your team, 9 time out of 10 she is going to ult. get into a position where you can still damage her but escape if you need to
basically if you think an enemy has ult, think to yourself "what would i do if i were in that situation?"
Went 7/2/1 in placements, was really happy with my score since i really fucked up the last 2 placements.
Ended up 1816
Going to kill myself

Yeah, it's fucking weird. Saw a clip of a guy winning 2 and losing/drawing the others before getting into 4000+ on his placement.
aaaand back in diamond, guess I'll try going for master this season :v:

That would be iddqd, a professional player who was at least that rank last season.

Then i shall try to think like that for future situation! Thanks you for your advise people, it can get really frustrating with ult in this game, i'm not very aware of them generally because i'm too focused on the combat to think about it.
Also, how do you do a good pharah ult? How do pharah ult work exactly? i try to jump and stop my momentum with it to surprise the enemy but it seems that pharah ult is one of the only one you can survive while being focused by it (Tanks/Support like lucio with amp it up or Ana with her grenade) and it's very frustrating. Plus, if only one person is behind, or next to you, you will die.
Dropped connection during a ranked match because my dad restarted the internet without telling me, as usual, so now I've lost rank already.
Got the game over a week ago and just finished my placement matches. Gold at 2309, not too bad I reckon.

Jesus, my mum had the brilliant idea of disconnecting the power to the router just as the ranked game started. Luckily I managed to reconnect like 30 seconds later, but my heart nearly stopped for a second when it happened.
