QP has its own matchmaking. It doesn't pit you against people who are unbelievably higher skill than you.
If you want (more) balanced gameplay than QP, play comp.
If you're complaining about levels in comp then you were just flatly outskilled unless they were smurfs.

So how come I'm level >150 yet I get put against a two-man-group of a level 500 and a level 1000? That doesn't seem very fair to me.
why even bring comp levels into this???

i wanna know what crazy world youre living in because its certainly not my world
Skill: The matchmaking system will, first and foremost, try to group players with and against players of equal skill. The game represents "skill" as a hidden Matchmaking Rating, or MMR, which is determined by a player's performance in Quick Play.
In addition to that, even if that weren't the case, level is seriously not indicative of skill (unless they're like below level ~70). I play with level 400+ players at my same level in comp all the time and I regularly play against similarly high leveled players in QP. By and large, skill is only tied to ability at very low levels.

Because I wanted to cover the whole spectrum of what you might have been talking about
i wanna know what crazy world youre living in because its certainly not my world
I mean, the system tries. If it literally can't find anybody at your level it'll just chuck you in with whoever is closest.
Anyway, this leads me to matchmaking rating. This rating is the most important thing that we try to match on. Basically this rating means “how good are you?” Commonly, you’ll hear this referred to as Matchmaking Rating or MMR. MMR is derived differently in different games. Overwatch borrows a lot of knowledge from other games but also does a lot of things unique to Overwatch. As each player plays games, their matchmaking rating goes up or down depending on if they win or lose. The system is extremely complicated and there is a lot more going on here than I am going to spell out. So please don’t take this as the comprehensive guide to how MMR is calculated in Overwatch. There is definitely a lot more going on under the hood.
I'd rather queue for another minute if it means I don't have to deal with Mr. 100 hours in widow, genji, and mccree
[editline]18th November 2016[/editline]
They definitely prioritize time spent in the queue way too high.
Experience isn't the determining factor in someone's skill, but it is a factor.
Someone completely new and level 1 will always objectively be worse than someone who is level 500 and has been playing for months. Map knowledge, hero knowledge, there's a lot that just takes time
Someone completely new at level 1 who has played FPS games for 5 years could be better than someone who is level 500 and never played an FPS before Overwatch.
Then that level 1 would have more experience
My point is that level wouldn't reflect that.

Again
If you want more balanced matches against people of equal skill, play comp.
uhm, quickplay does pit you against people who are way better than you pretty regularly.
this. i get pitted against a top 500 widowmaker at LEAST once daily. its annoying as shit
So, yeah, HotS is really fun. I might play it more after I get Genji skin (not that I am a pro genji, mind you, I just want this skin)
So, yeah, HotS is really fun. I might play it more after I get Genji skin (not that I am a pro genji, mind you, I just want this skin)
I'm trying to convince my Overwatch posse to dedicate sometimes to it myself
It has the honor of being the only MOBA I can always tell positive things about
I hope for more Overwatch characters in HoTS soon. I don't care for how Tracer and Zarya plays.
Again
If you want more balanced matches against people of equal skill, play comp.
man if yall think that everything is OP and that all matchmaking is completely broken then
A. you are vastly overestimating your skill and
B. why are you playing a game that you think is so broken
Become the best player in the game so there's no one better than you for the matchmaker to find. Easy.

I tend to do that when I'm focused on a game.
Tbh Zenyatta should have Winston's ultimate
Give me a gorilla omnic and that'll happen
Tbh Zenyatta should have Winston's ultimate
"Experience hostility"
Tried out Sombra for a bit last night. I liked her on defense funnily enough, but I have to work on her as offense. I don't play competitive though so I don't know how useful she actually is against organized teams.
One thing I'm wondering till the Free Weekend goes live, does Ana's Nano Boost increase damage too?

1.5x damage done, 0.5x damage taken.

Mystery Heroes is permanent right? I'm really loving 1v1, haven't lost yet.
Did they recently change PotGs? Now I notice they sometimes display text under them describing them, like "lifesaver" or "bulls-eye", was this there before?
Mystery Heroes is permanent right? I'm really loving 1v1, haven't lost yet.
I''d hope so. 1v1 is stupid fun unless it's Winston, Zarya or Dva.
The presentation before each round still gets me pumped.

Lifesaver, Sharpshooter and Shutdown are old, yeah. But they're fairly rare occurrances.
They do intend on making PotGs more teamwork focused though.
i won my first 1v1 by a (near) landslide :D

there was a torb round that was a draw because we were both super passive but when draw timer started i become more aggressive and i got him down to 5 health but then it was a draw :(
also recently ill never understand in QP why my team lets winston shit all over us and no one goes reaper. im usually the healer and i end up going reaper because no one wants to make that switch on their own for some reason
