It is easier to fuck them if they aren't squirming

Don't be too mad about the sex reports, portalcrazy. Everyone knows the first place to go if you want to catch a serious bug is inside someone's anus.

i just wanan d fix r ael bubgs ag agh
Looks pretty promising, I had a great time playing HellMOO.
With the heavy emphasis on world events thing do you plan on trying to form some sort of narrative to encourage people to work together like a D&D campaign to try and prevent it from inevitably devolving into gang wars, extremely creative griefing and cyber-sodomy? Or are you just making the point that we can now grief gangs of NPCs too lol?

the idea is that with adding things to actually fight over, and making survival a much higher priority, among other factors which can invariably alter one's style of gameplay, there'll be too much bullshit to deal with for there to be time to grief and rape people
but we do plan on having an active admin base who serve exclusively as GMs/game masters. hellcore has features for admins to possess NPCs. more on that, when SotlaMOO was a thing there was this place named Hobotown, and we'd possess an NPC named 'Mayor Hobo Joe' to hold auctions and sell spacious homes in the location
Sounds awesome, I think that will be key. A good staff of GM's creating interesting events will help keep things from getting stale.
insofar as people that'd be up for that we have plenty of staff. i'm just the only actual programmer on the team that works on stillborn, more or less
Been playing this a lot lately, Abaddon (portalcrazy) is a really good developer and he comes out with updates so fast that I have to read through 500 messages every time I wake up to find all the game changing updates he puts out in the meantime.
After my escapade of thievery and fucking dead people I found a new past-time, fishing.
There was a bug where if you fish on the same tile as someone else, you could accidentally catch your fishing hook in their eye. The bug part of it was that you could keep doing it and the dudes wouldn't give a fuck or attribute their suffering (and eventual death) to you.
And that's how I became the fisherman serial killer

hooking people in the eye was not a bug, hooking people in the head instead of the eye was. now the eye is hooked and they can be blinded or straight up die from shock, and it's all thanks to you. oh also they aggro you now.

because of the difficulty of using bigmaps (connecting areas in a big large map) over a large surface area we had to cut them out and use them sparingly. nakavas and the nakavian outskirt both look like this now:

on the maps, 'NO' is a transition point to the nakavian outskirt, and 'Na' is a transition point to nakavas. it looks uglier but will ultimately give us a lot more breathing room with creating world geometry.
Not even past getting out of the first vat, still reading all of the help pages. :eng101s:
Anyone got some tips for starting out?

I mean like, after you've done the tutorial and shit.

1. Avoid combat until you feel you have the best possible weapon for your skillset.
2. Press 'search' on any road tile (and certain building tiles) to scavenge for objects.
3. Sell whatever you find at the pawn shop (CP on the map, near the center of Nakavas) for a reliable source of cash.
4. To regenerate health, eat something, orgasm, or use a trauma kit if you've got a decent Medic skill. Note that eating raw meat will not fill you up as much, give you stress, and also infect you with a variety of stomach viruses.
5. Stress is very real in this game and will both massively debuff your skills and eventually lead to heart attacks, so you want to periodically destress, either by smoking, sexhaving, or relaxing at the tavern (TT on the map, near the southern side of Nakavas).
on that note i plan on adding stimpaks for the lower medic people
[editline]13th June 2017[/editline]
consider also heroin for destress
[4:30 PM] Abaddon: i may be reconsidering the RP policy for stillborn. what i want is to provide a great environment for people to be in-character and roleplay on but not to force people into acting against their instincts just because "thats shitty rp dont". ideally, the game itself should work out such situations and if someone does something suicidal and ends up biting the bullet for it, that's on them. if nothing else the policy should at least stop dickholes from attacking people who RP because that's just shitty. i feel this warrants discussion
4:33 PM] Abaddon: yeah if someone does something that doesn't make sense the game should bitchslap them. if not enforced, RP would be extremely encouraged as opposed to HellMOO
ended up thinking about this, since things are so early on there's a lot in the air
Help on Roleplaying:
----------------------------------
Roleplaying is not a requirement on Stillborn in the strictest sense of the word. If you'd like to just play the game and enjoy it, you may. You don't have to type long emotes or poses, but you do have to adhere to a few things:
* If you're not gonna roleplay, don't ruin it for others. Don't attempt to grief or kill people just because they're getting into the immersion of the game.
* Don't intentionally ruin roleplay for others. Stillborn is a serious roleplaying setting and to zip around it flailing like an idiot is only going to make people angry.
* Don't metagame. Don't discuss details of quests, characters, or anything else in-universe outside of a vague context that everyone can be expected to know anyway, such as the existence of the Nakavian Outskirt, for an example.
* For further clarity, you and your words in OOCnet are on a different plane of existence than your character and the game world. Keep the separation clear.
If you just want to play the game, so be it, but follow the above guidelines so the game isn't ruined for other people who do want to roleplay. And consider it, as you may appreciate the world and the game features in a new way.
For an idea of what horrible things may happen to you should you violate the roleplaying policy, see help judgement.
ended up doing this. i think it'll be a good compromise
I think you should study how admins act on Goonstation in SS13 for a good example of how to enforce metagaming rules and both provide a good environment for light RP while still allowing people a extreme amount of freedom to fuck up (you could basically destroy half the station for instance, as long as it wasn't malicious. Yes, experimenting with explosives was considered valid).

yeah probably. i just don't wanna fuck it up for the people who do take it quite seriously
Really unsure when to feint, dodge, power hit etc... in combat.
if this is anything like hell powerattack as often as possible, dodge when being powerattacked and feint if you have a higher intelligence than the opponent
edit: kills with powerattacks in aggressive stance and up might net fatalities (flavortext/some reward), aggressive stance was preferable for melee in hell
Really unsure when to feint, dodge, power hit etc... in combat.
Generally speaking, your best bet is to size up your opponent before making any conclusions about what to do. Performing any of these combat actions makes you effectively skip a turn, which can be lethal if you're closely matched with your opponent.
If your opponent is extremely slow, very dodgy or takes very little to no damage from your attacks, there's nothing wrong with powerattacking them. Do note that powerattacks will fatigue you much faster than simply attacking, making it so that any prolonged fight will start going downhill fast.
If your opponent is preparing a powerattack, deals enormous amounts of damage, or is just plain too fast for you, it's generally a good idea to grab them if you have a decent wrestle skill and some brawn. Do note that you can only attack people while grabbing if you have a one-handed weapon equipped. No shotgun blasts to the gut like in those action movies here.
Generally speaking, if you have the skills and opportunity to grab or feint instead of dodging, you should. Dodging is not guaranteed to work, while performing the former actions may stun your opponent, which will both halt their powerattack and tank their dodge capabilities for as long as they're stunned.
One thing you absolutely should remember is the fact that fightstance switching is a good idea in combat. If you're in a fight you really don't think you can win or you're in a situation where you'll be running from combat a lot, type 'fight pacifist' as soon as possible so you get an extra boost to both dodging and fleeing. Otherwise, the generally most effective fighting style is Aggressive. In Hellcode, speed is what determines a lot of fights, and accuracy is what determines most of the rest.

the wrestle skill actually doesn't do anything with grabbing, just stripping clothes and headbutting (which is a HellMOO thing, at least when it comes to being mutation-specific). i plan on changing it so it's less useless and the main stat used in grabbing in general
Anyone knows if there's a soylent vending machine anywhere? I can't find one for the life of me.
Also, Besides the three teachers that are advertised on the telephone post downtown (for fishing, medical and blades) I can't really figure out who else trains what.
Can I still fondle he with on hand?
