Umm if I remember correctly you use a thunderstruck (maybe two) to make a farm wagon, which is faster than a farm cart. It also lets you hold 4 packs in the trunk, and it can AoE water your crops.
Then you can upgrade it to some farm wagon that can hold 6 trade packs.
And I think you can also use thunderstrucks for getting a car, which holds two packs but is super fast. (Don't remember from alpha, but think you need 8 thunderstruck, 2 for each wheel).
Oh and there is a glider that you can craft with a thunderstruck.

Got some pics as well. We went to freedich to turn in a tradepack and ended up in the middle of a full scale war. Both against the westerners(mainly exiles but also others) and in the middle of Celestial Lust and Kraken's Maw. Also some fuckers from rabid trading co shot at us

I saw a few cars driving around in the alpha but not many. You needed like 800 gilda for the design.
These cars are absolutely amazing, real shame nobody has them.

Think you need flaming logs for them, and you can't get flaming logs till Auroria comes out.
Also you can get honor for a car, and 150k vocation badges for a car design as well.

I FOUND ANOTHER THUNDERSTRUCK TREE.
I was exploring hasla for unprotected farms, found some cedars. Sure enough, thunderstruck tree in the middle of them.
Just looked up the recipe for an apex squall...
To put this in perspective, you will need -
36 thunderstruck trees
20 flaming logs
maybe half a million to a million iron ingots
many other expensive things
and thats just for the chassis

Spend 40 minutes on a trade run trying to get to sanddeep before the peace period ends
10 minutes left, cutting close but I can make it if I have a good route
Then I actually get GANKED in a safe zone by a mob that has [I]teleporting monsters[/I] in it, causing me to get ambushed by 6+ monsters and guarantee dying (as you can't do anything with a trade pack against a mob). Respawn, get to where I die in less than a minute and someone actually fucking stole my pack

I've been farming aspen and pine for the past few days and no thunderstruck
On the other hand, I just got my 2nd 16x16, so maybe my luck will change

So I made myself a farm cart to speed up the process of getting trade packs from the specialty workbench to my farm so they can be loaded onto my boat for shipping. I guess this wont really make me more money but is a great time saver.

I hope that when they release the farm wagon that you will be able to just upgrade the farm cart to the wagon rather than having to make a new vehicle. In alpha only the farm wagon existed the one we currently have in the game was not around then to know if you will be able to upgrade it.
