So I made myself a farm cart to speed up the process of getting trade packs from the specialty workbench to my farm so they can be loaded onto my boat for shipping. I guess this wont really make me more money but is a great time saver.

I hope that when they release the farm wagon that you will be able to just upgrade the farm cart to the wagon rather than having to make a new vehicle. In alpha only the farm wagon existed the one we currently have in the game was not around then to know if you will be able to upgrade it.
The farm wagon is a different design altogether, I doubt we'll be able to upgrade to it.

I know it is a different design but from looking at both vehicles it doesn't make any sense to not let you upgrade as there will be an ability to upgrade the farm wagon once you have made it. Like I said I hope. I know how unlikely they are to actually bother.
Plus the farm wagon is considerably more expensive than the cart, if that's all you're going to use it for it's going to be a huge waste of money for you

Doing runs in my Eznan is great but an upgraded farm wagon can take more packs and does not have to go through hostile territory so it will probably be more profitable to just do trade runs in that.
I dunno I wouldn't bother using the wagon if I had a cutter. It's slow as hell, you risk getting stuck if you're not careful, sometimes you have jackasses blocking the roads, you need fuel to go at a decent speed
On the other hand with a cutter you could go from solzreed to cinderstone in like 10 minutes, cutters are already hard to board as it is and the trip is short, if you want to be 100% sure not to get boarded you just get someone on the radar, otherwise you can just hug the coast. It's still much faster than using the wagon.
Trading to sanddeep with a wagon is pretty much impossible unless you get lucky enough that all 3 zones are in peace time
But hey that's just me
Not sure why I'm still playing this with all the hackers/botters and shit.

While they're in the game, they're mostly doing land grabs. Eventually things will get better, but until then we'll have to deal with it. It isn't any reason to quit the game in my opinion as there are lots of things to work towards.
Anyone on Lucius planning to be on around 7:30pm EST tonight? I might need some body guards at this tree farm I set up. Hopefully all goes well and nobody finds the spot I planted. A slim chance though.

Anyone know what this is?

This is a graphical problem. If you spend loads of time sailing like I do these things will become common place. Basically any effect that a player can cause in the game be it from spells or whatever can somehow end up stuck in random places. If you are out at sea you can end up seeing them everywhere you go.
The one in your picture is a portal you can use to teleport around that has somehow got stuck randomly in the sky.
a while back, I found a number of those red effect circles you see when there's a circle of cultists performing a ritual on the ground, floating way up in the sky toward the exit of the firran starting area. took a little while attempting to glide up and through them, thinking something would happen, but it didn't
So should i break down my thunderstruck tree, build a cart and maybe sell 2 logs to get money to build my farmhouses, or should i keep the tree?

You talk of building a cart If you intend to use the cart for making money it might be wise to wait and use the tree to build a wagon as it will be able to hold 4 packs instead of 2 just as standard and can be upgraded to hold 6. I don't know their time frame for releasing it but it cannot be too long as it was in and working fine during the alpha.
So I used my glider, this is where I ended up, courtesy of Paddeh.

butt
is blocking a trade route with farm cart bannable
No, I saw an official response telling people to deal with it in game however they can, if they have to wait/pay/go elsewhere/kill then so be it.
that's part of the whole sandbox thing, you're capable of doing stupid shit like having a bandit roadblock and it's an intended feature
I still think it's oddly refreshing that player bodies and vehicles have collision, so you can't just walk through each other

I stalked someone who kept putting their tradepack down on the ground for a while, then glidered over to them from really high up, dropped down/snatched/teleport away/stealthed super fast
then I put it back down for them
seriously don't set your shit down if you're just idling, even off in some isolated area
it would be 10x better if there was open pvp everywhere, so that the roadblockers would have to be able to defend themselves
yeah, there needs to be some more situational thing, though open pvp in lowbie zones would suck for actual lowbies, and any sort of reporting system that would accumulate and tag someone as a criminal/pvp'able would be easily abused by guild groups to just mow over whoever they want. Maybe making it so once you reach a certain level (30) pvp is unlocked on your character, not just that you're going to pvp enabled zones. on top of that, being able to crunch people's levels to fit a zone would be kind of helpful to prevent 50's from just hanging out ganking fresh 30's walking into new places
it would be 10x better if there was open pvp everywhere, so that the roadblockers would have to be able to defend themselves
Honestly this is a feature that would fix a lot of problems, yet no one would then wanna do tradepacks :/
So your solution to avoid being mildly inconvenienced by having to drive around roadblocks is to make sure nobody uses a cart ever again, if even trade
Im gonna try to set up a block in cinderstone moor with a few other farmcarters and only let friendlies trade there and never let reds in

If you have a farm cart you can completely prevent someone from passing, completely. You don't even need to block a bridge you can setup on a road and just keep moving in front of someone. There is no way around you.

If a person has a farm cart that you are blocking, they can jump over your farm cart and use drivers escape.
