How long would you say it takes to get to end game? And is the early/mid-game still decent even as F2P? Cause I might just start F2P and after a month or two upgrade to patron once I hit the end game.
I even recommend starting the game as F2P, the patron status wouldn't really add a whole lot for low level characters anyway. You get increased EXP gain with the patron status but it's barely noticable with the EXP requirements to level up low level characters. Once you're around lv45-50 you can fully benefit from everything Patron has to offer. You'll have to grind higher EXP numbers, end game crafting starts to open up to you and having a house where you place chests for extra storage if always handy.
Right now a whole load of people have gotten back into it. Grinding to 55 is the most daunting thing right now. When it comes to gear they will soon be changing Diamond Shores and removing the housing zone. It will become a place to farm mobs for what I would assume will be tokens like in Hasla. The gear you can make will be the equivalent to Obsidian T4 to help bridge the cap between noobies and vets. The gear doesn't have an upgrade path and cannot be regraded all that high but it will help loads until players can craft their own stuff. This will be both weapons and armor.
Never played WoW so I cannot really say myself.
Do you have Ny sort of Korean translated documents about the token change? I'd love to get a good look at the upcoming gear, etc.
Here is some naval pvp of our guild Devilish taking out the CAD fleet (biggest zerg guild of east faction) to get packs that are worth good gold as part of an event.

I do talk but for whatever reason Raptr doesn't automatically pick up my microphone yet it does my TS. I also didn't realize it would pick up TS at all didn't mean to have voices in their.
when you have a pack you can take a long sail back to your home continent where it is safe but if not you can take a short sail north to hand in. If your not in a group it is likely you will get ganked like this.

My pirate guild has an alliance with strongest west guild. Every Abyssal Attack we do we easily get 5 packs each not counting stolen merchants we sometimes take. We just defend the middle island for 20 minutes and then our fleet leaves with fully loaded ships, everyone else just sits at a distance waiting for our merchants to be filled up :v:
Hurray for underpopulated servers.
Got both my enraged dragon wings and war medal instrument.
The instrument Anthem of Battlerage is really nice as the skill battle focus is one of my main abilities to keep my abolisher class going and the instrument increases it by a level. This increases all the abilities stats by 10%. In the process it also bumped my gear score above 3800.

I originally was collecting dragons scales when the event was previously on but I couldn't make it each day so when the event ended early I had to wait until it started up again now. I really like the active ability of increasing stats by +50 with the enraged dragon cloak so I am glad I was able to combine it with my auroria block rate cloak.

I really like the visual effect for this one.

4767 gearscore now, the 5k dream is coming closer
does anybody know what time the transfers become available tomorrow?

Our guild artist drew my character so I could put it on my sails. Is a masterpiece I love it.

2.0 launched after a rocky start last night with server issues. A lot of new stuff got added and crafting became less RNG dependant.
I also reached the 5k gearscore milestone and regraded one of my galleon sails to Mythic, currently only need one more sail to hit Mythic and I basically have a full Mythic galleon.
Guild is already talking about farming as many luscas as possible to make the newest galleon for me.
Dwarves yet?
Farmed the luscas last night. Was one of the only guilds to be prepared for it at the start so we got 14 enoan fragments.
I finally got my sword to divine recently and put it to T4. I currently play an Abolisher so I intend to replace my auroria tassets with epherium so I can use those new eternal defense lunagems that increase revitalizing cheers healing. Sadly they cannot be gemmed into aurorian gear.
2.0 has been great so far. Loads of pvp in Diamond Shores has been happening. Have yet to try and hunt reds fishing but I have seen constant fishing boat part regrades so the interest is alive now it is profitable again. So far with the new heroes system the top 20 people with leadership points are in the same guild so although there is a voting system it is still kinda silly as a single guild that focuses on pvp all day can get themselves every hero spot if they want it.
Dwarves yet?
Nope. They aren't in the korean version yet. When Dwarves hit they will be releasing another 3 races with it along with expanding the current continents so whenever they do hit it will probably be part of a large expansion. I wouldn't expect them for awhile yet.
You can fight dwarves however

So I started on the fresh start server with my old guildies.
Heard primeval got nerfed into oblivion.
So are the top tier classes now:
Defiler/Abolisher/DR/Daggerspell or variations close to them?
Enigmatist as spell based class
Darkrunner for melee
Abolisher is good PvP and PvE tank, Hexblade can be cancerous PvP tank too.
Archery is dead
Is Blighter any good?
Is Blighter any good?
Blighters may have a harder time these days with the influx of Abolishers because of 2.0. Your going to find your attacks being blocked and parried like mad to then be stun locked and sleeped if the first rotation doesn't kill you followed by behind enemy lines. At this point if your still not dead and your attacks are ready you may find the abolished just going into invincibility until his attacks are ready again.
Against other classes I hear you still have a hard time these days. I'm starting to see less blighters as time goes on. The problem is 2.0 is causing people to switch to all the newly considered op tank classes.
Trion never cease to amaze me.

I got the same thing, apparently they gave all past patrons 7 days gametime in 2.0 and it just expired today.
oh so that's why I got it... I haven't even touched this since launch.
is it better now?
Is this game still blatantly p2w in terms of housing/boats
Is this game still blatantly p2w in terms of housing/boats
Don't forget it was p2w in regards to everything else too. If you had a fat wallet, you could get the best gear in your first day of playing.
I loved the game to death before it happend... If it has changed I might come back though, but I doubt it has.
Anyone got some intel in regards to the p2wShop?
It differs from server to server but on Kyprosa I think the average gear score is anywhere from 3.5k - 4.5k when you look at the majority. The major whales have 5-6k gear scores and there are a few of them but they certainly don't make up the majority. The gear score system is by no means a perfect way of judging someones gear as throwing gems into your gear can affect it more than say the grade of your weapon.
RNG is a factor in this game. As an example one player I know of has a gear score of 5.3k and has spent $7,000+ on his gear. You can definitely P2W your way to the top from day one but your going to have to have good RNG and alot of spare cash. You can straight up just buy the gear from the auction house that other players have crafted but the price of that gear can often cost you an arm and a leg. On Kyprosa the gear on the auction house can be good but not necessarily the quality of what a whale will be looking for. You might have to spend hundreds or thousands of real monies to buy multiple good weapons to try and upgrade them in the hope one of them becomes really good. After a certain point trying to further upgrade a gears grade just straight up destroys it if you fail and the chances of success are almost none. If the auction house doesn't have gear of the quality you want you could end up spending thousands of real monies buying good gear and trying to take it further with it all just going poof before your eyes. This could be just for a weapon you then have all the other gear.
I think right now whales kind of hit a point where they are faced with an RNG wall keeping them from getting higher quickly. Gems can make a big difference and you cannot buy alot of them with gold nor can they be traded. With these gems you have to socket them one by one filling potentially 6-8 slots. They have a 50/50 chance of breaking with each socket and if you fail it wipes all gems in the item. Alot of gems are bought using honor points that are gained from events meaning you have to actually work for them. There are ways to farm honor but I wouldn't call them perfect.
I play as a tank class "Abolisher" and have a gear score of 4.1k and generally speaking I don't tend to hesitate to jump into a 1v1 fight with most players with a higher gear score than me. I can stand my ground against most people with my gear.
When it comes to the cash shop most things that get added are costumes, gliders and mounts. The gems that increase your chances of success upgrading the grade of higher end gear are not in the cash shop. You can buy chests that have a chance to drop the better gems but your playing with RNG again. Your probably better off spending real cash selling credits so you can buy those gems with gold.
So yes the game is P2W but with all the RNG in upgrading gear your most likely going to be spending many thousands to get anywhere. The best 1 handed sword in the Kyprosa auction house right now would set you back over £740 if you bought and sold an item called "APEX" (fastest way to convert real money to gold). You would then need another sword or shield for the other hand plus 7 pieces of armor, a bow, necklace, 2 earrings and 2 rings. Every bit of gear can potentially make or break your class depending if it has a crucial equip or combo effect.
Sorry for the ramble I kind of started typing and didn't look at how much I had written until I had finished. Like I said things differ from server to server and pvp often happens in groups or large raids so in really large scale pvp one guy no matter what the gear score will just be swallowed up without good heals.

In personal news now fishing is worth it again I made a Tidal Bungalow (or bangalow if your in devilish) so I can fish in the northern continents waters and hand in really close.

Oh man that picture makes me want to play again...
You need a good instrument as well. That's 16 different slots where everything is roughly the same price (only real exception would be accessories - generally 30-50% of other high-tier gear. And you can get one of the best necklaces from participating in faction events, too.
Also, anyone here play on NA Hanure? Currently having a fun time as a pirate, west faction was fucking abysmal :/
I have returned, and oh how i've missed you.

The armor is slightly better than Auroria level gear. Not completely sure about the weapons.
"240 revenant soulstones to make the weapons, 120 to make the helmet, 160 to make chest and pants, 100 to make gloves & boots. You get about 60 as far as i see from the rift quests and more from the mobs. You can even start farming them from Aust followers now at diamond shores .I do not know if they can be regraded, but the transmogs look really good!"

This seems like the gear I heard about. I think it is supposed to be a catch up for newbies hitting lvl50+. If I remember correctly this gear is equivalent to tier four obsidian but the grade is capped at celestial. The grade cap might be different from weapons and armor though not sure.
Considering how much of a gold sink obsidian can be for newbies or those looking to swap parts of their gear this new stuff could be good to grind for whilst you save your gold instead to buy divine obsidian. Probably better to do this than spend your gold tempting rng trying to regrade obsidian to divine yourself.
