Add Xavith and Paddeh in game, we're on the Alpha server as well
Well, compared to alexojm I have time so, if you need help getting things up and running ingame I'll be your guide.
Awesome, for some reason the Glyph download speeds are garbage so it's going to be another hour of patching.
How's housing on that fancy Alpha server you guys got? I heard there's practically no land available

It depends on where you look. If you look at the starter areas, yes, but at the same time a lot of land becomes available everyday due to people not paying taxes.

Jesus, why is the patch for Alpha so big, is there a ton of new content or something?
Also handy when done deep sea mining that you can spawn your boat from any depth and it will appear right above you.

I mean I haven't played this game AT ALL but 25 labor points sounds like kind of a steep price to pay for 2 stone and a star shard chip?

Maybe star shard chips are expensive or something. I know that cork trees take 25 labor to chop down, and they only give you like 6 logs so...

It's great to deep sea mine at higher levels with a 100% xp labor bonus tonic. Star shards and stone go for a decent amount, but it also gives over 1.20% of xp this way, making it a very fast way to level.
Currently level 47 on alpha doing this after I left a level 34 zone.
I don't know what half of that means but okay.
How long does it take you to acquire 25 labor points?
How do you acquire labor points?
Also how can you stand to play the game so fully and have to start all over when alpha and beta ends

Alpha is boosted at 20/5 mins online and 10/5 minutes offline for patron.

It's fun to me atm

Personally, I'm not going to be able to play games very much when this one comes out, so essentially this is it. I know some other people who just love to play so much that they can't help it, it will be interesting to see whether they burn out when the wipe happens.
it takes 5 minutes ingame for 5 labor points, just wait and get points
if you sub, it also gives them when you're offline
Which is accurate?
Which is accurate?
For non-patrons (subs) you get 5/5 mins online and 0 offline.
For beta patrons it's 10/5 mins online and 5/5 mins offline.
and for Alpha patrons it's 20/5 mins online and 10/5 mins offline.
They've been discussing labor with XLgames (creator of the original archeage) and they're going to try and change it for us, because Americans are lazy.
I guess eastern MMO's are just way more grindy than any western ones for some reason

What constitutes "Alpha" and "Beta" patrons? The top two packs?
Also, change it how? Remove it altogether? Make it faster?

$150 pack gives you access to the alpha servers which have the labor set to 20/5.
Change it by either increasing how fast you get labor, or everyone is unsure. Whatever they decide on.

What's your ingame name?
I guess once I get my first payment from my sidejob, I'm gonna buy the Achaeum pack off kinguin aswell.
Will join up with you guys on Alpha then, I guess I won't see much of you around though, seeing as you play most of the times when I'm asleep, heh.
I'm kinda curious to see if this is a thing before I actually go dropping $150 on an Achaeum Pack.
Anyone here who bought an Achaeum pack not satisfied with the game and would be willing to sell theirs? Or is that against the EULA/TOS or whatever?

If someone wants to sell you their account there's probably not very much that Trion can do about it. I'm pretty satisfied at the moment, however.

Also, I only managed to get to lvl 15 yesterday, so I'm probably going to spend some more time working on leveling and getting skill points when I get back from work today.
so query - when you expand the size of say, a farm plot does it
A - increase the size of the plot to be double the original (or even exponential)
B - increase the tax double or just by a small amount (or not at all?)?
Im just wondering if it would be more tax effective to have your guild run one big farm thats payed for by everyone or have each member run his/her own.

also according to what ive read the game has been out for 2 years in korea, anyone able to confirm that because if so all this founder shit is just a huge cash grab
What's your ingame name?
IGN is same as on here, what's yours? I added someone named "Jonoporter" today.
I also managed to find a plot of land that isn't in the middle of nowhere (I think, I'm not too familiar with the western continent). Bought some pigs then realised how hard it is to make combined feed, ended up buying some for stupidly high prices because I love my piggies too much to let them starve before I slaughter them.
On the other hand the experience taught me that pumpkins seem to be selling for a lot right now, so I've gone ahead and planted a bunch of them

A - you can get an 8x8 farm, and 16x16 farm via quest.
B - Tax goes up everytime you own another plot, after 3 plots it is said to go up a lot higher.
Also it has been out in Korea for awhile, but I still find the packs worth it.
I reached level 22 and feel like far less of a scrub. I switched from Inquisitor to Shadowblade, because the Vitalism really wasn't doing it for me. Witchcraft, however, is. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, but I have an awesome combo chain worked out that's allowing me to solo starred monsters around 5 levels above mine for like 600 xp each, so I'm happy.
Successfully pulling off a previously planned out 9 move combo is a great, great feeling.
[editline]6th August 2014[/editline]
I know I'm probably still garbage.

mm what I was refering too was the items that area meant to increase plot sizes, ive seen someone talking about them ingame and was wondering if they increase tax, hell the might not be usable on farms if there 2 sizes preset, that assuming they're actually a thing

Swiggity swooty comin for dat booty arrrrr! :yarr:
ugh why is the combat so WoW-alike :(
Planted 100 cedar trees which take 18 hours to grow, came back in 4 hours before they were finished growing and someone was uprooting them as I logged in :(
ugh why is the combat so WoW-alike :(
There are some significant differences from WoW, one of which is that the hostile mobs are so myopic they probably couldn't legally drive, and have an incredibly difficult time aggroing on you if you stay more than 5 meters away. However, individual mobs are a lot more dangerous in Archeage than in WoW, and I find that things get hectic if I pull two equally levelled mobs, and I nearly always die if I pull three.
This is in contrast to WoW where you'd find an enemy camp and have to kill everything in it, usually in groups of 2-4, in order to get to the boss/quest objective. Here you can just wander past most enemies and just kill the dude you want to kill or take what you need.
