I wouldn't say the combat is that difficult, though. Most of the enemies can easily be defeated by spamming arrows and the first spell in the occulism tree while circle-strafing the enemy in a wide angle.
Been keeping an eye on this game for a long time but couldn't justify $150 and $15/mo, but you 3 playing and updating are making me want to jump on board the alpha. Also how viable are tanks? Usually my go to class, but it seems less emphasis on tough mobs and more crafting/avoiding others.
You can get the 150$ pack for a dicount on kinguin. When the game is released, it'll be free-to-play with an optional subscription, if I am not mistaken. However, if you want to play right now, you'd need the 150$ pack.
I'd really like to make a guild for FP on the Alpha-server but I can't see anything good coming out of it right now. Mostly because we're all underleveled.
I got close to level 20 during the last beta weekend, have to say I didn't find the game very interesting. Didn't help that I spent a lot of that time questing and good god is questing boring. I was expecting more sandbox and less hand-holding. Also owning land is locked behind the paywall and I'm just not interested in dropping $15/month on anything right now (and if I was, it would probably be EVE anyway). Just kind of disappointed atm.

Unless you can figure out crafting, you're going to be stuck questing until around level 30, when the story ends.
I got to level 29 during the beta, but really had to push myself through it. It appears like the leveling process is a pain in the ass (like most other MMOs), but the end-game seems worth it. While I don't think buying land is behind a paywall, it seems like you'd have to be really high level for it. At level 10 or something you get a normal 8x8 garden, but there seems to be a point later where you get a 16x16 garden and hopefully some kind of item that allows you to actually place it with that. I never got that myself, though, so I don't know. [editline]|[/editline] As for the crafting, there are some things I've looked at first and said "that's bullshit" only to later realize that it's actually quite easily achievable. For example from level 0-20, I thought you had to plant your own trees in order to get wood, which definitively appeared like bullshit to me, then I got to an area where trees where just growing wildly in the forest and any player could just chop them down. After getting some wood and trying to turn it into lumber, I realized that I needed some kind of dye to make some kind of "super lumber". A quick check in the alchemy bench taught me that I needed a bunch of plants and flowers that no doubt had to be farmed in a farm, then the next area I got to had those plants and flowers spawning randomly, for everyone to pick. The labor system is still kind of bullshit, though. Especially the coinpurses, which seem to be leveled, yet labor regeneration does not scale to your level in the same way. Still, that whole system seems that it is due to change.

Supposedly they're working on a way to make it so new/alt accounts that are f2p can't grief it and thus make it no longer behind a paywall but we shall see.

The game it's self is rather questy but you will find that the second you have a boat you will be going on so many adventures and getting so distracted you will forget about questing for literally days. Me and Jonoporter got our first boat and realized we had barely leveled up at all because we had been off getting ourselves into all kinds of situations. We are now leveling again so we can partake in PVP with others and it really does not take all that long to level up in this game.

We are now leveling again so we can partake in PVP with others and it really does not take all that long to level up in this game.
What levels are you guys getting to at this point? Also, I've just been mining everything I see as I've been levelling and then once in a while I'll stop and smelt all my stuff and craft all my rocks into bricks, and then the bricks into hereafter stones, giving me like a level of XP and seemingly infinite teleports. I like the hereafter stone system quite a bit.
What levels are you guys getting to at this point?
Jonoporter is level 43 and I am 38. At this point you can level up 2 or 3 times a day but I get so distracted doing other things. You could hit level 50 really fast if you did nothing but questing and deep sea diving but I am too easily distracted for that.
Additionally, I had a really fun experience with the first Western dungeon, abbreviated SM, some kind of mine. The bosses were each different and engaging, and the two other gung-ho randoms I teamed up with and I had a great time, despite never having done it before and wiping four times, once for each of the first two bosses, and then once for the last one, as we figured out what was up. Barely got any XP or loot out of it, which made the intrinsic reward seem more satisfying.
Would you say (assuming you have played) the combat is more or less boring than rift? I played Rift for about 2 weeks at launch and recently came back to it. Feels extremely boring and dead. I have to say, everyone here seems pretty cool and informative compared to the other boards. Community can usually say a lot.

Archeage seems to suffer from the problem that you can multiclass, but really you're just cherry picking 2/3 skills that synergise and that's it. That said, open-ocean EvE-Style pvp man.
Probably the best way to level is get 34-35~, deep sea dive a couple levels to use your labor, sell the stone if you don't really want a house. (not really needed if you're in a guild w/ a guild shared house) go back to questing, hit 40s~ then go farm the level 53 elites in auroria, you get 17k per level at level 49, so Im guessing its going to be higher at lower levels. Easiest way to solo the 53 2 star elites is to have sorc/witchcraft and use use your fire/bubble and enervate/earth grip combos to burn it down. [editline]6th August 2014[/editline] I'm currently working on getting a farm wagon, they can hold 6 tradepacks, so doing semi alt tabbed runs would be pretty good gold imo.
That said, open-ocean EvE-Style pvp man. A coordinated boarding party does sound pretty sick.
How can I contact you guys ingame?
Planted 100 cedar trees which take 18 hours to grow, came back in 4 hours before they were finished growing and someone was uprooting them as I logged in :(
Did you call them a faggot and/or kill them?
How can I contact you guys ingame?
What's your ingame tag and I'll contact you.

That being said would there be any sort of problem activating a European version of the game in America? Would it force me to play on a Euro server?
I think the only difference is that you use a different currency. I don't think there is any difference to the key you get.
There's a switch currency thing at the top of the page that switches it to dollars anyways.
Oh. Didn't see that. What the fuck their base price for the Archeum Founder pack is $182? That's $32 more than Trion is charging. [editline]6th August 2014[/editline] So I looked at the Archeum Founder's pack on Steam and noticed there are no TF2 hats offered for preordering it. I'm unhappy with that. I want a hat damn it
Seems like my account was hacked, discovered it within about 20 min, lost some gold and all store credit it seems. Contacted support, so here's hoping I get the credits back at least. I used an ancient shitty password I've had for over a decade so, not too surprised :v: Updated password, and grabbed an android emulator http://www.bluestacks.com/ so I've got their Rift Authenticator thingy. edit: Someone should make an eyepatch for the FP logo, so we can plaster it all over our ships.
What's your ingame tag and I'll contact you.
Pellaes [editline]6th August 2014[/editline] and Alpha is down for maintenance
So if no FP guild on Alpha, any guilds out there that you can recommend? I quite liked my Beta guild experience of random chatting in TS and going out on a Junk once to kill the opposite faction.

[editline]7th August 2014[/editline] You can do that on my Junk too. :v:
Then let's do it, hoist the flag and all that shit
But do we have 5 people
