Was thinking I'd join the FP guild when I get into the beta tomorrow but what's with all this drama? Some dickbag stabbing another fp member in the back or something? also if there's servers and such what should I join/who should I contact/etc

Telepathi has left now.
Does the beta only have a server in North America? It says I can change it any time but it does not respond to clicks. In the Glyph while installing to be more precise.
What is this FoE you guys talked about? Another guild? And glad to see that the drama has died now. Remember, we gotta stay strong and united to fence off all the furrys.
I'm not an FoE dick and just finished the main quest. Can I get some help with making my Harpoon Clipper later? (And yes, I am in the Guild)
Yeah sure, I'll help. What do you need? Pack transport or materials?
Are the Beta Servers offline? I can't load out of the Glyph Client.
Are the Beta Servers offline? I can't load out of the Glyph Client.
They're up for me. I'm glad I got into this beta, but I only have enough time today to play for an hour ugh. Time to steal people's shit.
What server is the FP guild on?
Alpha
Alpha
Oh is there a server specifically for the alpha that the beta people can't get on??
Is Crest Brainstorm only available for Archeum?
This is some bullshit. I just got in the beta server after a 30 minute queue wait, and every time I log in I get to play an incredible 20 seconds before I get "The Gods have disconnected you" and get sent back to the desktop. [editline]14th August 2014[/editline] Yeah, fuck this. I'll try again this evening.
Is Crest Brainstorm only available for Archeum?
You can often purchase them for gold on the AH.
Yikes, this game is doing a lot to disappoint right out of the gates. Combat is about as basic as it can be for an MMO, the skilltree for necromancy is boring as all hell and the only summon is at the very end of the tree and temporary with a short duration. There seems to be a better one in witchcraft but again it super late in the tree, there's still some interesting skills I guess but most of it is super generic MMO fare. The first hang glider they gave me felt like a slowfall spell somehow made more boring - the movements I made seemed to have no effect and the animation was just a bizarre fall instead of any sort of gliding Overall the game bored me so hard that I've already exited, I don't know how long it takes for it to start getting interesting but with the pace it was going at it wasn't worth it for a beta test that's going to have character wipes. In the short time I played the gameplay was 100% get quest -> kill a couple animals that other players are fighting over using generic hotkey combat -> go to the next npc, repeat. What do you guys do to get into it and how do you do it?
Yeah sure, I'll help. What do you need? Pack transport or materials?
Materials. I just focused on getting through the main quest and generic quests until I hit 30 and completed that main story. So I've done literally no farming or anything, and only a bit of gathering in the White Arden forest to see if the crafted rowboat was better than the historic one. It was not. Aren't you supposed to get a donkey at some point that is better for carrying tradepacks? [editline]14th August 2014[/editline] Also, can I just say that Glyph is a terrible client? Does it actually need to check the entire game just because the Glyph client updated?

The game itself's got a lot of potential, but I'm extremely disappointed in Trion. Paying over a hundred dollars to get shunted into a group that can only play when they run a closed beta test for a few days, AND to have to conform to an NDA? A++. The game also has some major, major P2W flags.

And the only P2W flag are the labor points, which is fairly reasonable.
What, there's no server named Alpha popping up on my list. Is it the same as Azanreb or whatever? [editline]14th August 2014[/editline] Or are alpha users put on alpha servers while beta users get to choose between only the ones listed?
Alpha players play on a seperate client.
Uhhg, I've got that damn update loop bug when trying to launch the game. How do you fix it?
Why would the beta have an NDA if the games been out in Korea for over a year.
it doesn't have an NDA actually IIRC they actively have said "show shit off to your friends! we dont mind!"
Ok, so are we just not allowed to play on the Alpha servers during the beta event? Ahh, so after checking the forums, seems they update the Glyph client to change how updates are handled, and that broke launching the Alpha.
Don't play the beta really, it's a waste of time and you will get nothing done with 500 other people trying to get it done too.
Guess I'll just wait to play till it comes out, and probably try a different playstyle or something

To avoid redownloading the client copy your beta files to the alpha install
The game also has some major, major P2W flags.
It doesnt seem to be "Pay to Win", it seems to be "Pay to not Grind".
P2W? The only thing that is really pay to win is the labor potions, and even then you can buy marketplace items off the AH.
Labor points really slow down endgame and imo make it not too enjoyable. But that's just me. I see plenty of free people enjoying it.
When you open Glyph before starting the game, you can choose Beta (NA), Beta (EU) or Alpha.. To avoid redownloading the client copy your beta files to the alpha install
That's not the issue. They broke actually launching the Alpha. Beta launches fine, but they fucked up launching the Alpha when Glyph update, you can change the names around, whatever, but its still broken for Alpha. You can technically make it if you mash on the Play/Update button pretty much constantly until HackShield starts to load, but thats about it, and its not consistent.
