Everyone in this game looks Asian (well except the cats I guess). Even the Western Nuians look like Asians with heavy plastic surgery :v: Anyways Vikings seem cool as Fuck so I might be going east... While leveling on the eastern continent, I've noticed that most of the areas are arid deserts. Other than that you have an ancient Asian-inspired land followed by a fantasy forest, but after that you get to a standard western area. During that questline you even get showed into a portal that transports you to the western continent, but by that point you are above level 30 and can do whatever you want.

This involves stuff like giving them long beards and horned helmets, which obviously is completely incorrect because beards were not invented back when the vikings still existed. Now considering how vikings actually looked like, I think this looks like a pretty accurate depiction of them, even down to the small details like the large shoulders and digitigrade legs. Just going by those details, I can say this would most likely be inspired by vikings from around 930 AD, which is between the time when the dragons were extinct and the later years when Christianity became the most popular religion.

My friends told me that when they started playing they were pretty disappointed because apparently the spawn areas were really cluttered with other players blocking people and stuff like all the beginning monsters got slaughtered etc. Does this really happen? The game looks really fun, and I'd like to play it, but my friends are turning me off of the idea.

I just don't get how you can come to the conclusion that the warborn look anything like vikings. And yes I realize that the earlier post was sarcasm. Those are draeni wannabes Also I apparently started a war by trapping a guy in imprison for 30 seconds.

So, today was fun, a few hours after Jono left packing for vacation. We went to Hasla to farm some marks, Username put some black hand member into a wall a few times, naturally the black hand member got so buttmad he called his guild and was raging like a lunatic. The Black Hand GM wanted to contact one of us, "to explain our actions today", they're apparently part of some big alliance of 12 guilds and they're super srs. I kind of half arsedly explained how user put one of his members in a wall, and he got buttmad. Eventually he said he would put us on KoS and would mail it to all the other guild alliances as well. So what this basically means: In this open world pvp sandbox game, when you enter hostile zones, other people might attack you and shit. I know right, it's crazy. So a bunch of Nuians showed up in Tigerspine, we managed to overcome the language barrier by using pet names.

I know I said the game wasn't for me when I tried it last beta, but I gave it another go this beta and I'm actually finding myself liking it. Started a new character, a paladin, and got myself to level 11. I just wish my game doesn't end tomorrow. Any idea when the free steam release will be?

Today started with Username getting stuck with cows. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ADG8Iiz.jpg[/t] Some random guy got on my boat and I saw a guy sail by with a trade pack so I told the random to harpoon him. When we got close I started to kill the guy with the trade pack but the guy who was with me disagreed with piracy so he tried to stop me by fighting me but I killed him too. My class is a Doomlord and it has many stuns including AOE stuns so if need be I can take on multiple people even if they are all level 50. It helps that I can tank too. It also denied us access to one dungeon because of our levels so we think these dungeons are for level 55 people but they have put a cap on level 50 for now. Gildart helped us reach a state of war with the Black Hand guild after replying to their messages. Naturally we danced naked over to them as they tried to intimidate us with their show of force. I'm completely new and seeking guidance! Are there any general class guides? I have an idea what each tree is for but I feel like I'm gimping my assassin character I'm going for.

Is it worth joining the pirate faction?

Played the beta and I'm liking the game quite a bit. I leveled up to 20 as a Nui and traveled with 3 other guys to the enemy continent just for fun since the beta is ending. We managed to kill a level 35 but that was it. There were a lot of contested zones in the level 40 range that were completely empty (barely any houses or players). Hope to see these areas more busy when the game finally comes out. When will it come out anyway? I tried to kill a friendly faction member in the zone but they killed me and reported me and now I have infamy and crime. If I don't do anything bad for awhile will it go away?

Since it says that the beta ends at 10 AM PDT am I correct to assume it ends in ~6,5 hours? These timezones always confuse the shit out of me.

I don't know whether to get this or not I have a habit or playing MMOs for like 2 weeks and then just stopping. It looks fun but I don't have any friends to play it with :~(

For the beta and alpha though, you have to get lucky and get a beta key. As far as I am aware, the only way in to the Alpha now is to buy in.

So how exactly do you combine Defense with any class that uses spells? From what I have read many spells require you to use a 2handed weapon because they raise your magic damage. Does that mean my spells won't be any effective if I'd be rolling with a 1H and shield?
