Aaaand as a demonstration what happens when something like that occurs...

Somewhere in that blob there is a table with a tiny device on top of it. It despawns each time someone interacts with it then respawns after maybe 3-4 seconds.
that's an OK-ish timer, though it comes down to luck whether you spam your key at the right time, some people may be there much longer than others
I'm reminded of a time back in WoW, I was a hunter and wanted a rare pet
decided to camp out in a tree for 7 hours waiting for "Humar the Pridelord", a black lion (who at the time was the only tameable animal with that skin). His respawn timer was something like 8-12 hours (with a chance he'd just skip out on spawning), and he was coveted enough that other hunters continually stopped by to stalk around for a half hour or so before wandering off. When he spawned, a random warrior came charging out of nowhere immediately attacking it, but by some sliver of luck I managed to freeze-trap it so it stopped kiting along with him, then tame it before it died while the guy kept trying to whale on it
he then started bitching about me stealing his kill
holy shit dude
Taming also seems to be present in this game, but the only wild creatures you can catch are world bosses.
Where the hell am i going to find a housing area, everything is gone :S
Have you tried going to a warzone? Those places had a lot more free spots during alpha.
So what happens if you place buildings outside housing areas, I've seen that in places.

Buildings cannot be placed outside of housing areas what you are seeing is random designated spots they put in the game. I don't know why those spots exist but they do. They are generally for 24x24 buildings.
You can't place houses and farms outside housing and farm areas. It may just seem like it's possible because of some of the weird housing spots (including some literally placed diagonally on a hill). You can however place furniture and animals outside of farms and gardens, but they'll either starve to death or become public property for anyone to take and mess with. I have heard about people planting huge patches of trees in an area they think is safe, but that usually ends with some guy coming along and uprooting them all.
Murder is also a thing in this game. You can kill any player in your own faction as long as you are in an area that allows for PvP combat outside of duels, but that's where the player-controlled crime system comes in.
Could you technically be in a very big and powerful guild and have a farm outside of the housing area? Since people who don't own your crops would leave trails to be followed, and I'm sure most people wouldn't want to be on a big guild's bounty list.
I really wish they allowed houses / farm plots to be placed anywhere safely, that'd be cool. It's kinda shitty knowing there'll be no free space by the time I play.
If they allowed houses everywhere the areas would be a giant mess.

The big guilds claim the land on Auroria the PVP continent and you can then plant in much of the land if you are in their guild. The majority of the continent is not playable yet so once it is fully open although full of war between the big factions it is a massive housing continent. There will be questing there and dungeons and stuff but far more housing.
Can you access Auroria now? Or does it still teleport you back and waste you three Hereafter stones?
When does the new continent get opened?
Their servers now truly know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a gangbang

You guys better get used to this
Glad I downloaded the game before the mess came.
Wow I actually got to click play and the "Initializing" progress bar moved one pixel before it went offline
That's progress

Just wait until you're stuck in a >1500 people queue.
The game still seems to be offline, though.
people should get on ts
Why isn't it on steam?
Why isn't it on steam?
probably the whole early access thing confusing people that can't read and whining "I THOUGHT IT WAS F2P WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY $150???"
I got on Kyrios with no queue. The servers are still pretty borked though. It's taking like 10-30 seconds for quest NPCs to respond.

I still have friends playing Archeage through steam. I'm confused as to why you can't download it through steam if you didn't buy the founders packs. The game is F2P after all.
I'm downloading through Glyph anyway.
does anyone else not receive authentication code when logging in?
1100 peep queue on Shatigon.
Don't patrons get like priority in queue? I don't remember being this far back in the queue during the head start.

resend the code and wait a minute or 2.

It'll die down in a week or two anyway right?
That's how long I expect a majority of players to stick around.
In open beta we had queue problems only for the first day or so
