It's not unlikely that they will change some of the limitations after release Also, "every extremely successful F2P game" (debatable) is not archeage. If you give too many powers to free accounts the alt abuse is going to fuck up the economy real fast, and the economy in archeage is possibly the most important thing in the game

tl;dr of the point I'm trying to drive: they're not giving you the right to claim limited public space when you literally don't have to pay for an account to go and do it. It's a privilege to own these locations and you could bet your ass if free accounts could touch them they'd all be parked by exploitative goldsellers the instant they become available. Providing private housing defeats the point of using public space vs owning space, as it's fully owned space with zero bother. I'm sure paid players would probably prefer to have instanced housing with no worry of people taking over their land if they miss out on taxes or whatever. "you don't HAVE to pay to play" doesn't mean "you don't have to pay to reap the rewards of the huge features we have", and "you don't have to pay money because there's an ingame trade-for-time system" doesn't mean the prices won't become so overencumbered that only the biggest no-lifers can maintain it after the economy stabilizes and realizes how cheap 50 gold is in the longrun They're not obligated to give free players anything, it's essentially a slightly restricted demo mode to garner interest from potential payers.

Sorry, I wasn't clear before: The housing thing is annoying, but I get the point of it. I'm more bothered with basically being unable to use the crafting system without paying. I don't even have enough labor points to gather everything I run across let alone make an item. I mean, think about it, crafting and therefore doing trade runs, is a MASSIVE part of the game that F2P players basically can't participate in in any real way other than just trying to steal other's stuff.

Personally I don't like the idea of instanced housing. I like to see my neighbors, and I like to see when enemy faction neighbors move in and I can battle someone while i'm at my house/guild house. I like interacting with others in the housing area, and I like the idea of there being a real estate economy where you can buy and purchase houses, as well as try and battle it out for some housing areas when people who didn't pay taxes lose their placing.

Just thought i'd say, I entered the queue at 12:00 PM, and i was at 1,500. It's now 3:00 PM, and i'm at 700. Guess i'm not gonna be able to play today.

Yeah the queue times are pretty ridiculous right now. Here's hoping they die down soon, even as a patron you have to wait for a good while before getting in. Once I'm done gathering materials for my boat I'll have a bunch of space left on my farm. Anyone on Shatigon can feel free to contact me and I'll see if I can give you access to the farm so you can grow some stuff safely.

Oh fuck I closed the game. I was goign to close space engineers and closed archeage. I was at 600 too. What the fuck ever, it took 30 minutes just to go down 100.

I'm on Tahyang, my queue times are roughly 300-1000 at a time, If it's late at night, it tends to be less than 10. At the very least, I hope my server doesn't suffer any server population problems in the near future.

Guess patron won't activate until I get THROUGH the queue... Great. Thought I could've bought myself through it. Ugh.

I managed to log-in right as the EU maintenance was over on Kyprosa. So that was @ 9:30+ am. By 11:00 am, the queues started. Past 12:00 am, queues passed 1800. Some friends waited the queue (that reached 4600+) from 12:00 to 17:00 and managed to log-in eventually. Anyway, AFK time this night for that LP.

Currently I still don't even have my patron since it got removed. Would be great if they gave it back I lost out on 2k+ labor today that I needed for crafting to level.

what server are y'all NA nerds on?

The biggest issue atm is that labor for patrons is 10 online and 5 offline, which is such a massive incentive for people to stay online afk at all cost, not to mention queuing. They really should change it to 10/10 or 7/7 for patrons, f2p kind of have to have the restriction otherwise people would just spam accounts for labor.

I'm going to start a farming and trading guild up soon. On another note, I still don't have my founders title!

It's not the best looking game but I'd say it looks alright for a free to play title. Cities and foliage look the best by far, large open areas can be a bit less pretty. [t]http://i.imgur.com/4ecDHyh.jpg[/t]

Just thought I would ask as you said you only got into the game for the first time.

I hope they patch that out, I plan on logging on during a specific time which is early in the morning for me and I'd rather not have to start the game in the evening, go to bed and come back in time to log on

Was in queue for 3 hours, at 1400 ish, lost connection, now at 4000 Really fucking bullshit

I downloaded the game in about an hour, took like 2 hours to decompress and install after it finished downloading, and now I'm ready to wait for the 3300 man queue to get into the game for the first time, yay!
