Was this a glitch or a hack? I played against a Nilfgaard player, he passed immediately without using any cards. Next round he suddenly had 16 cards. He also used endless amounts of cow carcasses. It was like Monty Python's Holy Grail. :v:
How do you beat Fog of War? The only thing that fucking ruins any chance of a win for me is that God damn Ciri card. [editline]3rd June 2017[/editline] Only using the starter decks.

If you have a major lead and you pass, the AI will always pass as well (if your lead is good enough) so you get a semi-guaranteed round victory without your opponent having a card advantage. Suggested cards would be Geralt and the 10 strength Nilfgaard Knights, just play one of both (or two nilfknights) and pass. I was able to use this to beat all challenges, since it abuses the AI's tendency to give up a round if you have a big lead. [editline]4th June 2017[/editline] Nilfgaardian Knights aren't in the starter deck, but they're commons so just craft them if you haven't unpacked any, spending 90 scraps to craft three of them will be a good investment since you get 75 scrap from each leader "path", so in total you make 750 scrap.
You don't get scrap from beating challenges.
Oh right, I meant ore. But it's better to get ore than it is to get scrap.
It's also harder than just dropping a bunch of junk down because the AI always burns it with Scorch or something, can't keep anything on the field that is high strength. This challenge is fucking obnoxious.
What happens when you lose or win a game? Do you gain or lose cards?
You lose all your cards ever if you lose once. Make a new account after. [editline]3rd June 2017[/editline] I fucking beat it, and Endless Hordes. Kinda struggling on Dagon but I know I can get it.
I haven't played this since closed beta, but whats the deal with all these new keywords and how do I work out what they do without looking it up out of game.
If you hover over a card in the collection there's a popup that tells you what all the keywords on that card mean.
turns out they actually just put that in lol
I hate this game. [t]http://i.imgur.com/i2M9k45.png[/t] [editline]4th June 2017[/editline] I really don't know how to play card games.
I'm pretty sure there is a "ragequit" exploit going on, I manage to clear the enemy's weather three times in a row and as soon as I topdeck the weather clear unit, the game ends and it says there are latency issues or something. My opponent wins the game 2-0, despite the game having been only in round one still... What incredible fucking bullshit.
I'm actually having a hard time deciding between these three. [t]https://i.imgur.com/PNd9VKd.jpg[/t] I'm leaning towards Nature's Gift, but that 10 boost is pretty good. Well considering I've never had the match crash after my opponent plays a card, but it has happened several times after I play a card to counter my opponent's play (such as remove their last copy of frost) so I'm inclined to think it's not a random accident. [editline]7th June 2017[/editline] Also most of the Nilfgaard golds/silvers are usually the best picks, they're overall busted and if they'll be changed (nerfed) in the future, you should be able to scrap them for their full crafting value.
Kind of surprised to find the Gwent thread this far down. Big patch coming out soon, nerfing a lot of Skel.
Kind of surprised to find the Gwent thread this far down. Big patch coming out soon, nerfing a lot of Skel.
I find Gwent to be a very good game, but compared to other cardgames it lacks certain things, most importantly age and freedom. Gwent is mostly based on The Witcher 3, including certain non-W3 characters (mainly silver/gold humans and such) from previous games, but the current card pool is so small that you just end up seeing the same decks over and over again, and even when they're different decks, they usually have a ton of same cards as other decks of the same faction. I haven't really felt like playing this all that much because of it. And because the game is so heavily reliant on W3, the future of the game is very uncertain. Hearthstone has an insane amount of material to work with since the Warcraft universe is so big and varied, and games like MtG have the ability to conjure new creatures of all sorts since there isn't a pre-existing universe locking design in place. Currently Gwent has Touissaint that hasn't been implemented yet, but anything else is gonna be brand new and that brings the risk of "this doesn't fit witcher at all!" outcries if the devs make up new sorts of monsters. I feel that limits the design space a lot. Hearthstone also has 9 classes and MtG has 5 mana types (which can be mixed together pretty freely) which increases the variance. The game also lacks fun gamemodes. Hearthstone beats Gwent in that regard since there is the Arena and the weekly Tavern Brawls, as well as Wild Mode, which is a lot more variance than Gwent currently has. All in all, I think Gwent has very good base mechanics and potential to be great, but it needs more time so we have more cards and gamemodes to play with.
idk, with the patch that just went out I'm having a fucking blast, outside of the fact that my last faction got nerfed to shit (SK). Transferred over to Nilf and made a reveal deck (not a huge fan tbh) and then a spy deck with Calveit. Everyone is bitching about how he was just nerfed but it's easily my favorite deck I've made period. Lots of other stuff is being played too.

They still haven't added Toussaint cards for nilfgaard, there's like every single mage in the enclave, many dwarven characters that haven't been added and elven ones too from lore, loads of monsters that don't yet exist in the game (kikkimores, arachnomorphs, cockatrice and the list goes on). They still have Aedirn, Poviss and loads of other NR cards to choose from. They haven't even got a single card referencing the temple of the eternal fire or the order of the flaming rose yet. They haven't even added all the witchers yet Don't forget that there will be a single player campaign mode or something coming out after beta as well. So lots of potential, just need to remember it's still in beta, and there's an extended universe to draw on.
Gwent is mostly based on The Witcher 3, including certain non-W3 characters (mainly silver/gold humans and such) from previous games
The only faction based on Witcher 3 is Skellige, the majority of cards from other factions originate from The Witcher 2. There has been very little taken from The Witcher 3 and you seem to underestimate just how much can be still added from it.
Decided to try Swim's deck for kicks. I am no longer playing Swim's deck.
I've been a Monster/Nilfgaard player for the majority of my Gwent "career", but I moved onto a siege machine based Northern Realms deck recently, and have been having an immense amount of fun with it. Just constant damage and disruption, I made a couple of opponents ragequit without calling GG when I kept destroying their units :v: I made a deck list/guide for it as well, feel free to check it out if you want a non-infantry based Northern Realms deck to play with. Also there's a singleplayer event going on, you get to play as farmers who fight against Regis. It still lasts for about a day, play the challenge before it times out! (also they added several new cards a couple of weeks ago, worth a look as well!)
