Has the game been decompiled like Freddy's 1-4 have been? I don't see it on the site where the others are located, but I'm seeing people pulling individual .pngs from the game left and right and posting them all over the place.
Wait a minute So Baby's pizzeria didn't open because of a gas leak, [sp]there's theories that say that the events of FNAF4 were an experiment possibly conducted by Afton (Purple Guy) himself, could both be related?[/sp]
Wait a minute So Baby's pizzeria didn't open because of a gas leak, [sp]there's theories that say that the events of FNAF4 were an experiment possibly conducted by Afton (Purple Guy) himself, could both be related?[/sp]
Look at the map when re-establishing power on night 2 and [sp]at the monitors in the Private Room if you enter 1 9 8 3 on the keypad.[/sp] [sp]Several areas of the map apparently correlate to both the pizzeria shown in FNAF4's flashbacks as well as the house in that game, and the monitors will show rooms straight from that game at different angles rather than straight rips. So different parts of the same facility in Sister Location match up exactly with FNAF4 areas, which isn't helped by the fact that Baby is fucking huge enough to easily capture and contain a child, and Freddy on his schematics shows what's implied to be a child inside of him. Baby's "killing/capturing" of the young girl in the minigame/backstory is implied to be the 'gas leak' that caused a shutdown.[/sp] As a result the new theory is that [sp]Purple Guy / William Afton wasn't just murdering kids, he was kidnapping them for experiments involving his Animatronics and other matters, and conducting the experiments on company property. Which probably could be why the company constantly covered up every employee death and tried to dissuade any direct responsibility in the deaths of children. And likely why he knew how to disassemble even the non-springtrap suits in 3, or why he even came back to company grounds in the first place; if you take the book into account, he also was a co-founder of the entire company and damn well knew how the Springsuits worked obviously. He could've been running the show in the foreground the entire time and no one knew it.[/sp]

Say what you want about FNaF but Scott Cawthon still managed to become a huge success with a very clever concept and a unique approach to horror games.
Yet another theory in the air. [sp]One of Ennard's lines in the Baby voice while you're holding out in the Private Room is "You won't die. And it will only hurt for a moment." Springtrap with Purple Guy's body inside also seemed to have most organs give way to a series of bloody wires left behind across the endoskeleton torso. There's a strong possibility that while it was performed on them involuntarily, Ennard didn't actually "kill and replace" Afton / Purple Guy (if you believe the technician to be them), but rather created a means to insert their hivemind essence into their creator's body. Thus the crazed, leery and ridiculously fast/strong Purple Guy we'd see in FNAF3 who disassembles animatronics effortlessly - because he wasn't human anymore. And also why he wasn't killed by Springtrap in full, since he could both possess it like the kids had to their models, and because he was already a robotic hybrid of sorts that may of transcended death.[/sp]

[editline]September 10, 2016[/editline] Speaking of which: James Rolfe did a short yet pretty good analysis of why the plot point of[sp]the murderer being under control of someone / something else[/sp]for that movie in particular was a really bad decision.
To be honest, once FNAF2 brought its implications of possession in, FNAF3 went all batshit with the concept, and this game presenting some of the animatronics as sentient, at this point anything can happen with this series.
When do we find out that [sp]Ennard[/sp] is an alien cyborg that crash landed on Earth years ago and he's just trying to go home?

That theory also conflicts not only with the other theory that this[sp]William Afton[/sp]guy is supposed to be[sp]Purple Guy due to sharing The Silver Eyes incarnation's given name[/sp], but also that [sp]Eggs Benedict is the same person as either of these individuals, which adds a whole new level of convolution to the mix because Afton might as well be a much more crazed Cave Johnson and the latter is a psychotic child murderer; adding Ennard to the pot, nothing has changed other than motivation.[/sp] In the words of Mr. Plinkett: "I am so confused..."
the next game will have actual flying cars and ray guns and reddit will try to explain where in the 1980s it takes place
Another thing that I dislike yet may sound stupid:[sp]giving the murderer an actual set identity and / or past.[/sp] [sp]Yeah, Purple Guy was most definitely male and had quite a cleft chin judging by what remains of him in the Spring Bonnie suit but other than that, he had no identifiable traits whatsoever; a featureless antagonist if you will, not to actually project someone else or yourself onto but rather to represent that this person could be anyone regardless of who / how they were before they became a sick and twisted serial killer. Less like Micheal Myers or Jason Voorhees, and more like The Joker or if we want to bring a real world example to this, Jack the Ripper. A slasher villain with no discernible identity and known past is also still a pretty niche concept outside of some obscure literary sources, and other horror games such as Still Life.[/sp] [sp]Giving Purple Guy a backstory that will very likely get janky overtime like your average horror movie villain really removes that same sense of believability and again isn't really going to do good in the long run when you need to refer to those facts for later.[/sp]
I feel like Scott doesn't really care all that much and is just making each game on its own personal quality now. 4 was so far and removed from everything else, and SL mostly does its own thing besides Afton. After 3 basically closed the main story arc everyone cared about, the only way you can go is down from there.
Where can I read up on all the story / lore from all the games? Friend of mine is curious and wants to read up.
There should be a wiki somewhere but it might not have fully updated on SL yet
Say what you want about FNaF but Scott Cawthon still managed to become a huge success with a very clever concept and a unique approach to horror games.
Point and click game are new now? wow. Those games are stupid and the only plot that should matters is the one from FNAF 1, simple and clean, something happened in the past where an animatronic bitted a child, those animatronics can defend the pizzeria by themselve but you need to watch them but they take you as an intruder and want to stuff you in a costume, there, story finished, with a very open question about what happened for the animatronic to bit a child. Why did he had to go that far? It was simplistic enough, why did he had to make it more complex in the next games?
Point and click game are new now? wow.
I wouldn't really describe FNAF as a point and click game. Even so, has one ever done something similar before the first game? People loved the backstory in the first game so the creator tried to expand upon it, I don't see the harm in that. It lead to tons and tons of game sales for him so I'd say it worked. I liked how subtle and open ended the first game was as well, but I can't blame the guy for trying to give fans what they craved.
Scott kinda has written himself into a corner with the first 3. now there's really nothing left to be done. it's a good thing his official stance on the Canon on everything past 4 is "murky"
From what I know bits of 4 and Sister Location tie into the books as far as lore goes.
I had something really odd happen to me during my playthrough. On one of the nights the mask above Circus Baby's room vent was replaced and looked like this: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/HIGcik.jpg[/t] I have no idea what triggered it, but it spooked me right out, as i have seen no other mention of it.

No one seems to notice them until like a week later unless they're incredibly blatant.

How did FNAF World turn out after updates and fixes and the like? It never got covered here cos the threads were dead and FNAFW was defienatly not enough to wake them. And it's free and as far as I know the only non scary game in the franchise so I was wondering if it had become worth the time.

Also, it will be available only when you get all 3 stars, and "it will NOT be canon. (otherwise it would screw up the entire plotline!)". Finally, the Custom Night will likely have new voice lines for the animatronics, and will possibly feature all of them.
Where can I read up on all the story / lore from all the games? Friend of mine is curious and wants to read up.
There is a pair of rather good sites: 1) Freddy-Fazbears-Pizza.wikia.com - a little "encyclopedia" for the FNaF series. 2) FNaFLore.com/ - a lore site which has some timelines and a fair share of content.
Yes Yes Yes.:shock: fnaf sister i have to play this.
Hey, nice to see another FNAF megathread again after so long! I was wondering if you guys heard about the news with Jason Egan (Fright Dome owner) working with Scott Cawthon to make FNAF into a scare house attraction here in Las Vegas? I went myself not too long ago and I figured that fans of the series would not be disappointed by it! Video doesn't have all the effects running for the attraction and also no one in costumes scaring people, but the scenery is still quite breath-taking!

Nice to see this thread back again, thought I might just post this stuff here since the custom night update came out a couple days ago
