Yeah, I got a Powercolor Radeon 4830 from Newegg a few days ago, only cost me $100 and now, no more lag no matter where I go, even with the settings maxed out. Highly recommended.
The problem is there's no 'just fucking kick the marines out' button, you have to give the ship the board command, at which point it lazily makes its way over to the target and drops the marines. That usually ends up with them BEHIND the target. This game needs a god damn 'just fucking kick the marines out' button.
Pretty sure there's a community made fix for that, go have a look on the egosoft modding forums.
Does anyone here use any scripts from their website? I've looked around at them and I'm not sure if any of them are really worth it. Are there any you guys would recommend?
Anybody know where a updated ship creating tutorial is for TC? I can ony find one for Reunion, and I would really like to see some nice Stargate ships in-game, even if i have to make them myself...
This game is AWESOME! Shame it got infected by input lag and is now unplayable for me :(

I used to have CMod 3 but it made everything so shit slow. The only thing that really needs slowing down is the capital-to-capital combat. If you have lots of PPCs it ends up being a 15-second affair.
Any good trade routes for someone to gain money relatively quickly? I remember the old Ore Mine route but I doubt the X3R routes are the same as they were.
I think they are pretty much the same. Although i like the The Wall -> Argon Prime etc. trading E Cells.

The Terrans are making a massive effort to colonise areas of space thought lost or inaccessible. No colonisation is easy and you will not only be asked to help in the shaping of the new frontier but you will also be called upon to provide protection for the colonisation effort against forces determined to oppose the Aldrin expansion. You will be able to build new Terran stations and complexes, a new Terran ship will be available and a host of other new features are introduced as you play a decisive role in the shaping of this new Terran frontier. X3: Terran Conflict 2.0 - The Aldrin Missions will be published in North America by IGS Games inc. More news and information about X3: Terran Conflict 2.0 - The Aldrin Missions will be available in the next edition of X Universe News.
Hopefully new content includes a laser that ISN'T the EMPC, as it is I use my Spitfyres as Homeworld2-esque plasma bombers.
New news on the 2.0 Update. Go to www.egosoft.com and visit the latest X-Universe News edition for more info. EDIT: Just to correct you: The Electro-Magnetic Pulse Cannon (or was it Plasma) is not a Laser. It is a Electro-Magnetic Pulse Cannon. That is as bad as saying that the 25MJ Shield is a Shield. It is actually a 25MJ Shield...
X3: Gold Edition is comming soon. In my opinion, the cover of the box looks awesome, and it even comes with a soundtrack of Terran Conflict...
The Electro-Magnetic Pulse Cannon (or was it Plasma) is not a Laser. It is a Electro-Magnetic Pulse Cannon.
The term "Laser" in the X series is generally an all encompassing term for "gun". Someone slap me across the ballsack if I'm wrong.

I am torn between picking up a copy of this or buying some PSP games. At the moment, all I've got is porn clips on my PSP which is quite frankly fucking pathetic. The only game I play on PSP is Lumines, which isn't saying a lot for the system.
how do i activate this game with steam? i've lost my discs and only have the damn cd key and it doesn't want to go with steam
The term "Laser" in the X series is generally an all encompassing term for "gun". Someone slap me across the ballsack if I'm wrong.
You're right.
The term "Laser" in the X series is generally an all encompassing term for "gun". Someone slap me across the ballsack if I'm wrong.
*smack across ballsack* What about FLAK? Hm?
And that weapon that uses ammunition and penetrates shields (forgotten the name). That is deffinately not a laser, more simmilar to a conventional modern day firearm.
Bought this a day ago, haven't got around to installing it though, been playing RE:5 instead. Might do it now.
*smack across ballsack* What about FLAK? Hm?
I think the ship info panel lists it as Compatible Lasers even when it's flak compatible in that particular turret.
And that weapon that uses ammunition and penetrates shields (forgotten the name). That is deffinately not a laser, more simmilar to a conventional modern day firearm.
Again, being a weapon that's not a missile or torpedo it's shoved under the heading of Laser.
So has a MP expansion been announced yet? You know its going to happen eventually.
No. You wouldn't believe how many people waltz into the Egosoft forum and make yet another 'Why No Multiplayer!!!!' thread. They've not said anything more than 'perhaps as a longterm goal'.
*smack across ballsack* What about FLAK? Hm?
Technically considered a "laser" in the X-series. Besides, it fires "bursts of enhanced energy" according to Betty, which sounds like a laser to me. Also, as much as we would love multiplayer, and as much as it is indeed possible, it would still be difficult to balance and have play similar enough to the original X-series for it to really.. work. (Those who worry about SETA, use a warp-drive that speeds your ship up by a factor of ten and divide the production times on all factories by ten, provides the same effect of having the game run on SETA 10X the entire time)
A couple of days ago, the X3: Terran Conflict 2.0 Update (The Aldrin Missions) was released. This contains many new bug fixes and additions to the game. Some of these include: [sp]A new ship variation (The Baldric Miner) Ability to build more Terran Factories New sectors More missions[/sp] And much, much more!

Just got the patch, epic FPS increase and now the game is really smooth in all sectors!
It is MUCH smoother now, and it is a shame that you need to compleate all plotlines, I finished the first set of Hub Gates, (getting the 400,000 Ore) and can now realign the first set whenever I want!
Steam hasn't updated my Terran Conflict to 2.0. Do I have to get the patch manually or will steam update mine eventually?
Just wait. Steam will probebly get it today or in a couple of days. Just don't patch it manually. It won't work because of different exe Edit: Seems like it won't be out until next monday: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=241733&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60
