Does anyone know a good way to earn money in early missions? I have 130 credits and two ships so far. One of which is unarmed.
If you're talking about that M5 scout ship then I'd sell it unless you're planning to use it. The only thing it's good for is if you fancy exploring some space but they're pretty cheap and if you really want to, can pick one up later on.
Also if you're not using one of the ships and it has armaments, strip what you can and use them on your ship if you have space for the time being.
I had a xenon L bail out, is that any good? It took me a bit shooting to get through its shields.
Yeah that'd make a fine upgrade from a Sabre. But sit it in a safe station and keep it until you have guns for it.
Yeah a bit of a problem, a bit after that I sort of saw a Xenon PX... hehe.
I didn't save.
What class is a Xenon PX?
[editline]02:14PM[/editline]
I managed to get a Gladiator to bail out in front of me! Well, if I ever need to bomb the crap out of something I have something for it now...
[editline]02:26PM[/editline]
And now a Elite has been added to this list.
[editline]03:04PM[/editline]
I know your out there!
I see you reading this thread and you have to reply sometime!
What the hell happened to my automerge?
I have'nt read this thread since I was at college.
A PX is an M6, but it's one of the Heavy corvettes, which are slower, stronger and tougher than normal corvettes.
I'd switch to using the Elite when I can. twice the shielding, good speed. But you'll need different weapons, specifically PACs (particle accelerator cannons) and PRGs (phased repeater guns), because the ones you have on the Sabre won't fit with the Elite.
Thanks man, the Elite was a really close fight though, I was at nearly 0% hull, had like 5% left when it ejected. Proof that the AI never makes a sensible decision.
This piece of crap Elite does have some problems, its shields won't recharge and it only goes 45m/s currently. Ejecting and repairing it is a bitch but it saves on repair costs.
After fixing it up, tuning its engine, and putting guns on it, it now goes 160 has 6 total Impulse Ray and I'm still looking for shields. My guns also last me long time when firing full auto.
6 IRE's aren't going to do much damage. I hope you're not hunting anything larger than yourself.
At *least* get some PACs or PRGs on there.
I'm more focused on getting money for shields. Real men might hull tank but I don't.

Sell the Gladiator, it's just not worth it until much later when you get sector defense missions that spawn M1s and M2s (which a M2 or M7 would do far better at).

You're using the repair laser to repair things right?
As for shields you want 2x25MJ which is the maximum the Elite can hold. The shield system is a bit strange I suppose in this game. The Elite can have only 2 shields, no more, and the shields can't be bigger than 25MJ. So if you have a 25MJ shield and a 1MJ shield in that ship you'll not be able to fit any more on despite that you're not getting the full protection. The ship always gives itself the biggest shielding it can from the shields in the cargo bay.
Also the reason the IREs last a long time on that energy tank is because they're the peashooters of the game. They're horribly weak, short range, but of course use very little energy. Keep a few for other use but try and look for the PACs or the PRGs. Those are the real weapons for this ship.
Also the Elite has a back turret, the only M4 that does, to help shoot bad guys and missiles. Go into your command console and set the command for it so it knows how to shoot.
Attack Enemies will shoot at any enemy ship in range.
Protect Ship will only return fire at enemies.
Missile Defense returns fire against enemies but prioritises missiles over ships every time.
You also need to fit a gun to the turret. Press G to open your weapon panel and you'll be able to find its entry on there.
I was gonna sell it, I'm to lazy to bring it to me or give it the order to come to me.

Yeah, I am.
[editline]07:48PM[/editline]
Uh, how do I sell a ship?
NM, you need to be in a shipyard to sell a ship.
[editline]09:19PM[/editline]
Which is better. PACs, or PRGs?
Ok what the fuck? A Tokyo pilot just ejected in front of me for no reason. I'm serious.

M1s/M2s/M6s/M7s/TLs do not eject unless you download a script to cause them to bail.

PACs do more damage per shot and use a bit less energy (I think) but they fire more slowly, the projectiles travel slower, they're also much cheaper than PRGs
PRGs are amazing for killing the gnat-like M5s, and decent for killing M3s/M4s
Yes, PACs are the generic laser, PRGs are bullet sprayers that are very hard to avoid.
I got popped in one hit by a single missile... In a Elite. With near full shields.
That's missiles for you. If you see a missile consider shooting it down with your main guns. Or with an IRE in the turret on missile defense that might not have happened. Is your turret up and running?

Yes.
Any way to get better performance in X3 Reunion? I'm stuck with a really shitty computer, (fx 5500), and the game runs, but even on all low it's about 15-30ish fps.
Well, I downloaded Lowpolyroids, and that works for asteroids and the like.
Yes.
Put an IRE or other fast-firing and accurate weapon on it, set it to missile defense. I was frankly annoyed by the missile-spam in TC that wasn't in Reunion, so if you're like me, consider this script.
Shit, wrong account. This is Sesshomaru- speaking.
Well, I'm beginning to rake in sums of money from ten traders I bought. I began out mobile mining on Ore Belt, then with the money from that bought a Trade Command Software MK3 and let him do his thing in Emperor's Edge. Rinse, repeat ten times, and here I am. Just waiting for them all to reach trader level ten so I can turn them into universe traders.
Uhmm guys, I started up x3 the reunion and everything is ok, but I tap escape for the menu and it thinks I tapped it more than once, like I create a new profile and I do a capital letter and it thinks I pressed it 5 times, help me please D:
My typing is ok but that game is weird to me and I have never had this issue with it.
The text in any X3 game has been quite a problem for me too. It is like it lags very badly...
X3 is a space sim,
Oh, its shit then?
Anyone got any advice on a good start as a trader in Argon Space?
Anyone got any advice on a good start as a trader in Argon Space?
I started with trading ore and silicon between Ore Belt and the surrounding sectors. It gave me about 100-200K or so per run with a Mercury depending on seller/buyer, it's a good start imo. But after a while you'll probably want to find something more profitable once you have the credits to do so.
How do you mod ship stats? as in their speed and stuff?
I just downloaded an awesome ship and i want to make it go faster than the other guys >.<
My ship must be faster! It's just a singleplayer game, who cares, i want ultimate power.
Please help me.
I just bought X3TC 2 days ago. Trying to learn modding and all i've gotten used to is the script editor.
Hard to google stuff b/c this game is so unpopular, nothing pops up. But i love this game.
Help me! :'(

Take a look through the Modding and Scripts section on the forums. There a load of stuff in there. More specifically this one helps with using the script editor and having a quick look through, it seems that it's got what your looking for.

Where is Earth btw?
I've seen Mars, and every other planet in our solar system except the "blue pearl" Earth! Where is it?!

Go to Mars > Venus > The moon > earth.
Don't expect a warm welcome unless you've finished the main questline.
