If terran conflict has more content than reunion I'll probably go with that.
I think Terran Conflict has slighty more content due to the Terran race being involved in this one. Isn't getting the pack the same price as getting the game on it's own though? Might aswell, more bang for your buck.

I'll give it a bit more thought.

Hmmm, I can't decide how to start off, tried the first 2 and the custom one. I might try the trader now, I just haven't got a clue where to go etc. Need a huge guide really.
If you buy the disc version it comes with a manual. Although I am not saying it is any good...
I can NEVER get into X3 TC.. I don't know why, but its just so tedious to trade and actually earn money in the game...

Once you have a good enough ship, start capturing m6/m7/m7m's or if your ship is really good enough m1/m2's. Or just become a pirate, quickest and easiest way to get money.

The first two gates you go through you get ambushed by a fleet of about 5-7 ships.
"Most Assuredly Hard"? What do you expect?
Mh, X3R > X3TC. But TC is still awesome. :cop:
Ah yes, the good ol' TC thread. I made a video a while ago, but never posted it. Well here it is. Make sure it's on HD. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c34MglceJE4[/hd]
Fucking awesome!
Fucking awesome!
I'm hearing that a lot, and i appreciate it. Guess i'm the only one whos rather disappointed in the outcome :P
That's the best TC movie I've ever seen. A few come close but a lot of them are completely pants. Good job.
I heard that TC was the last X game, that sucks. Here's hoping that they make a new series, just like the X games, but better. With today's technology, I'm pretty sure landing on planets would be relatively feasible and oh so cool. Maybe they could also get rid of the comm chatter which is essentially animated gifs loping over and over and hire some decent voice actors. It's not a huge problem, but it kinda breaks the immersion in an otherwise heartbreakingly beautiful game. [editline]10:04PM[/editline]
Ah yes, the good ol' TC thread. Reviving this shit. I've finally got addicted to this game after 2 years of occasional on/off restarting gaming. Woot, I'm at Mission 8, got a Buster with powerful guns and a Trade Barge doing Sillicon. I'm still stuck in the 'no money' unproductivity hellhole after I expanded my cargo hold. :S How do I make my barge do automatic trading without me telling it what to do?
Whenever you get a new ship in this game, it's essentially completely automated (with software), right? So even if you got a fleet of 100+ M2's or something, wouldn't you still be the only pilot in the fleet? [editline]03:31PM[/editline] I'm not talking about in real life, I'm talking about people in-game.

The only time you get another living thing in your fleet is sector and universe traders, and marines. Apart from that your whole fleet is completely running on the ships' computers. Also 2.5 is coming out at some point, looks pretty awesome.
New Features and Improvements: * Removed copy protection * New options for marine training, including multiple skills and duration * Several boarding aspects improved and corrected * Rebalanced boarding Xenon ships * Added a new menu for access to factories connected to a complex * Production can be toggled for connected factories * Show wing orders in the context menu for ships in a wing * Improved Defend Station command * Added gateless sector option to several flight commands * Added more information to the property menu including marines * Added option to change the sorting method for ships in the property menu * Improved Best Buys/Best Selling Price Locator menu * Added "Locate in Sector Map" option to context menus * Added laser bay information to ship info menu * Added new instructions to script editor and mission director * Enabled mods to add news articles to the encyclopedia Fixes: * Disabled use of more than 2GB RAM again due to bugs * Renamed Mercenary stations as Rehabilitation Facilities * Fixed flak weapons becoming inactive after saving * Fixed references to destroyed homebases of wings * Fixed Jump and Fly to command for ships and wings * Fixed wing jumpdrive energy display * Fixed Attack Shields command * Fixed Universal Traders flying into hostile territory * Fixed issue when launching many marines * Fixed missile resupply settings on boarded ships * Fixed mission memory leak which led to slow savegames * Minor improvements and bugfixes
[editline]08:47PM[/editline]
Reviving this shit. Give it Trade Command Software MK3, then under the trade command category you'll see Start Sector Trader. Use that to make the ship do trade runs automatically in the sector you specify. As it trades in its sector, it'll gain experience and levels, shown in the pilot name. Once it reaches level 8 and it has at least 25MJ of shielding you can give it the Start Universe Trader, whereby it'll roam around the universe looking for deals. Additionally, when the ship reaches level 6, the Start Sector Trader command will ask for a number when you give the order to a ship. This is how many jumps it can fly from the specified sector, so you can have a trader that'll only fly so far from the sector, making it safer. Universe Traders sometimes fly through pirate sectors and get fucked.

Having just gotten this game, and also being new to the X series, I was wondering if there is a way of going into a 3rd person camera so that I can admire my ship? I mean, I have just started the game and I am given this ship, but I have no clue what it even looks like. Just doesn't seem right to me.

The game is supposed to be played from a first person perspective, though. [editline]09:14PM[/editline] At least for the smaller ships.

[editline]06:30PM[/editline] Hmm, just tested it. Is there a way to rotate the camera around the ship?

If I do a station deploy mission, do I have to buy the station first or will I be provided with one?
If I do a station deploy mission, do I have to buy the station first or will I be provided with one?
You have to buy it and arrange transport for it.
I heard they adding MP in the next patch
I heard they adding MP in the next patch
Definitely a lie, I'm afraid.
I heard they adding MP in the next patch
Absolutely not.
