Just splurged on a Silicon Mine L and found an asteroid in Ore Belt with 64 yield. v:v:v
Also picked up a Nova for 100k with like 49 hull. Fitted it with a 25000kJ shield (25mJ? idk) and two Phased Repeater Guns, I think. They shoot three shots at once.

so how do you get the starwars ships to appear in game?
First you need the X Plugin Manager, which is here http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=265915 download it and install it and then choose which ships you want and download them. Leave them in the downloads folder and open the X Plugin Manager. At the top left corner click on the file button and choose install package. Find the files you downloaded and add them. The ships should be installed now, now you have the task of finding the shipyards that sell them. Either that or you can use the cheat package scipt (You need to download it) to spawn them. Not all the ships work though, I found this with the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. I do not know which ones work and which do not so please don't ask me.
What's happened to the User Interface? Some are concerned it may be dumbed down and [the game] may even appear on console. - No, no console. The game will become less complicated, but no less complex.
Yeah! Ha ha! I am so glad it's not going to appear on console. Thank you Egosoft.
Console players wouldn't want to play a game like X3 in the first place, way to much thinking and menus to go through.
I can't even imagine playing a 4X game on console

I'm still trying to figure out where people got the idea that Rebirth might have an astronomically small chance of going to consoles...
I can't even imagine playing a 4X game on console
I could but it will probably play like a PBEM game though.
OK I got a problem every time I use a flak cannon, my screen goes haywire and get streaks of light and the HUD vanishes . is it a graphics issue or what?
I'd guess so, all I can do is to advice you to update your graphics drivers or lower your graphics settings.

Try Twistshock's advice first, if that doesn't work; ask on the Egosoft X3:Terran Conflict Technical Support forum here: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewforum.php?f=93 Read their stickies before posting.
Okay, a little bump/information, Edition 43 of the X Universe News has been released; I know it's late, this is just for people that have not seen it yet. And may I point out this sentence:
What features have been left out from previous series? - Things haven't been left out just because they're hard to develop, rather we've concentrated on bring in gameplay features that are 'cooler'. Previously, for example, it was possible to pilot a capital ship from its bridge. No more. It took many players a long time to get to the point where they would own one and it wasn't a huge amount of fun to fly. If we'd included this, it would have put us back a bit.
Opinions?
Edit:
While I'm here, may as well tell you all how my empire is going in X-Tended:
Constructed a self sufficient complex in Sector 1716 or something like that, as well as placing a [sp]Nividium mine[/sp] on one of the asteroids in the sector. I have been filling up TLs with the stuff and selling them off the shipyards, making over 100 million per ship. (It takes a while). As well as that, my empire over in the other unknown sectors are starting ship construction, building my fleet up ready to destroy the universe, with a constant supply of everything from my mobile factories I have docked with the station.
Soon, the universe will be mine.

I'm just glad to hear of a new release. It's a shame to lose the ability to pilot capital ships because it knocks one feature out; but on the official forums, it seems to hint that you can still own capital ships, but not control them yourself directly. It seems that you can use autopillock to slam it into the station you want the ship to dock at.
To me, it doesn't present too greater loss, since I get rather bored piloting an M2 or M1 because of how slow they are, and not having the ability to shoot and steer it at the same time. I like M7's, so I hope they don't make them autopilot only. I love my Thresher, and it must be my second most used ship with the Sabre being the most used(I love the Sabre as well, I have used it through most of the plots). Egosoft forums topic: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=301925
As long as we can still own them and control them via the command console thing I'm fine with that. M5 master race
As long as we can still control them indirectly, it's fine.
I love my M2's and M1's too much...
Yeah, capitals were always a bit too cumbersome when flying them manually, not to mention slow, even with 10x SETA.

I want SETA 50x. Then piloting capital ships would be fun...
[editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
Not really it would still be shit.
I like having Capital ships for plowing through sector trade lanes. It's not as fun to fly as fighters but having the option is great, and I hope you can re-enable the piloting via mods in X: Rebirth

There probably will be a mod for it. But I hope they still allow me to fly my M7s, or at least a ship like the Springblossm/Hyperion.

I'm pretty sure you could still strafe in an M2 or M1 just as fast as any smaller ship though. I used to travel everywhere going sideways.

Ore Belt. Fleet of M1+M2s. SETA 50x...

Same with the Space Suit. It was the only way to get anywhere really. I wonder how fast the strafe speed it...

I would imagine they would leave M6s pilotable because they(well some) handle like a big M3. They also seem to be pretty popular(If not the most popular) on the Egosoft forums.

I always thought strafing was around 140-150 ms/s but I can't seem to find an accurate answer for this.

I agree, I hope you still have the option to purchase/build M1 and M2 class ships even if you can't fly them yourself. Perhaps you could still control them, just not pilot them yourself?
Honestly I'm hoping you can even find M0 class ships in this (not just the Arran).

I don't think it's that fast. I think it's 40-60m/s
I admit I haven't played in a long time but from what I remember flying forwards in a spacesuit at 10x SETA was still far slower than strafing at normal speed. I read somewhere it's 144m/s but I don't know if that's still true or if I'm imagining that.
I might be thinking of my X2 days as strafe was definitely patched at least once to make it slower.
You can't turn SETI on in a spacesuit because SETI is an actual software extension you buy and install on ships, and I think its strafing speed is 28 m/s
as long as I can still pilot the frigates I don't care.

Pretty sure you can eject SETA and pick it up in a suit.
