is the x3 summer world thing worth it, or should i get the tf2 shades?
Dude, seriously? (Except yellow framed) vs 150+ sectors to explore, trade, exploit, fight, pirate, construct in, building your own personal empire and armada of ships, Not only that this shit is as modable as fallout Easy Choice!
But we should not be comparing one item to a whole game. We should br comparing one sector to one item.
For fucks sake. I just looked at this Steam DLC. I cannot believe they are actually adding a new sector/mission to the game, and only allowing people who own games/get achievements to get it. And even if they do release it later, they will no doubt charge us money for it.
they always have really easy to get achievements for tickets, i see your point, though and yes, i already have the X games, i was just wondering about the mission
I need one more damn ticket, and I don't have any of my games updated + I am capped until the 11th. I NEED A DAMN TICKET FOR THIS DLC. [editline]2nd July 2011[/editline] Honestly, you would be stupid not to go for the X3:TC thing over the TF2 Glasses.

I don't think they'll charge if they release it, they haven't charged Reunion for the Bali G missions, or TC's 2.1 and 2.5 versions, where they added new quests and storylines, and removed Copyright protection I think out of all the X series games, X-tension is the only expansion pack they've released and charged for
So I bought it, t'was on sale. Anything I need to know? How to get started on the right foot?

I just bought Terran Conflict, should I start with X-Tended right away or should I play the normal game to get used to everything then start another playthrough with Terran Conflict X-Tended?
Play the normal game. Terran Conflict is X3 Reunion With X-tended basically
Excellent. GET RICH OR DIE MINING Or you can actually net some cash from mining?
You can actually make a fortune mining, well mining Nvidium anyway. How about 150 million in an hour. Although, you need quite a few ships to make that much, and you have to make sure you're mining in the right place otherwise you just fill yourself up with ore and silicon wafers. You collect the Nvidium(While OOS[out of sector]) and then sell the ship at the shipyard. You sell the ship because it takes ages to sell Nvidium otherwise because you can only sell Nvidium 2 pieces at a time and then you have to wait ages for some mug to buy it. There are only about two places that buy Nvidium in the entire X-Universe and those are corporation headquarters IIRC. That's why you have to sell the ship and you net some big cash.
Just got lucky and got my hands on 300K what do
Just got lucky and got my hands on 300K what do
Depends, what do you already have?
Depends, what do you already have?
Ughh, I have my old trusty Sabre, twin electro-magnetic plasma cannons, no missiles. Basically nothing :v: I got the cash from a hitman mission, which was surprisingly easy and net me 280k. I was thinking about getting a mineral scanner, ore collector and portable mining laser, but I think I need a bigger ship. By the way, do I need self-defense weapons on that mining ship because pirates?

If you leave an entire fleet of TSs picking up Nividium while out of sector and fill up a TL with all of it, you then just fly the TL to a shipyard, you can get a good 100 million for it. Don't play X-Tended until you have exhausted everything else you can in the vanilla game. Pirates will be in nearly every sector in the universe, all you can really do is add protection anyway.
Woohoo, got quad cannons (for nothing). I guess I'll just stick to Terran plot for some while and then start doing shit.
Which of the stations selling lasertowers usually have any by the way? Thinking of securing some of my trade sectors since i lost a mercury (and a level 25 pilot). And I quite like the Solano, save its limited arsenal.
You'll probably need to find a lasertower factory. Trading stations may list lasertowers as stock but that's just so you can sell them there really.
So I tried it. Hard to get into it, but I think it will take a lot of my time. But I'm on holiday so that's alright.
Can anyone gift me X3 Terran Conflict? i'll give you my Minecraft account in return.
Mass Drivers are the SHIT, especially for Missile Defense
So where should I start getting money... Is there a cheap mining laser? I can't afford the 42000 one with only 1000 start credits...
So where should I start getting money... Is there a cheap mining laser? I can't afford the 42000 one with only 1000 start credits...
Personally, i don't even bother with trading. I just use some salvage software to keep an eye out for abandoned ships. I always start out as a pure salvager on new characters, as it earns them tens of millions in just an hour's work. Especially when salvaging in Xenon sectors. Loads of credits, extreme risk. I don't remember if the salvage software was a mod though. Tells you about about any detected empty ships in the universe. If it is a mod, i've had it installed for years, and you can just ignore me. Actually, i'm pretty sure that was a mod. Nevermind.
So where should I start getting money... Is there a cheap mining laser? I can't afford the 42000 one with only 1000 start credits...
Trading is the only real option you have. But you do have a choice of two mining "lasers" though;

Mobile Mining Laser
Missiles
So, you could blow up smaller chunks of asteroids with a few small, relatively cheap missiles and collect them, but then you must also buy an Ore Collector. Probably best to just trade until you have a good 200,000cr. Then go into the mining. And make sure you turn SETA to x10 instead of the default x6.
Can anyone gift me this game, i'm offering a minecraft account and a Black Prophecy account now.
Should I get X3 gold or just Terran Conflict? I dont really understand Reunion and stuff.
Terran Conflict IS Reunion, just with more content and a bit easier learning curve
So, I have like, 7 Transporters, 1 Silicon Mine, 2 Ore Mines, all in the herron's nebula area. I have around 6-7 traders, cant quite remember how much. 2 of those are Sector Traders, the rest are universe traders. I am making around 1m - 1.5m every hour with SETA on, but I would still like more stuff so I don't have to SETA all the time to get to the next better thing etc. Any suggestions?
Terran Conflict IS Reunion, just with more content and a bit easier learning curve
Terran Conflict has an entirely different GUI, the massively useful Encyclopedia, and a totally new race. I wouldn't even bother with Reunion; it's bad in comparison to TC.
