I've no idea how to break asteriods into chunks and whatnot, or where a Nividium asteroid is.
Use a big missile (Hornet is the only fighter missile at the top of my head that can break up asteroids) or a Mobile Mining System. AFAIK, there's a Nividium asteroid in one of the Boron sectors close to Argon Space - one of the ones with the dark green nebulae. There's some more nividium asteroids scattered throughout the Unknown sectors, and nividium rocks (chunks that don't appear on gravidar) in some border sectors like Interworlds, and I believe Cloudbase Southwest
Terran Conflict has an entirely different GUI, the massively useful Encyclopedia, and a totally new race. I wouldn't even bother with Reunion; it's bad in comparison to TC. [editline]4th July 2011[/editline] Find a Nividium asteroid, break it up into chunks, then buy some cheap freighters like the Mercury to mine it and fill up their cargo hold, then sell the whole ship at the race shipyard who you are on good terms with.
It's miles better than Reunion, but it's basically the same game, just with much better features and a bit more streamlined GUI. I call it the Official X-tended mod for Reunion, since that's what it basically is. And a few of the guys who did the X-tended mod worked on Terran Conflict
God my mining freighter is slow as fuck, and I almost panic when I see pirates in my radar.
Loved eve, I currently play Shores of Hazeron. I tried the black prophecy beta back when it first came out (oh god the horror), but I did like the visuals. Is this the game for me? Are ships predefined or is there any kind of spaceship design studio sort of thing?
spaceship design studio
A man can dream... No, there is only predefined ships. But this game is as moddable as Fallout 3/NV, so you can get ship mods.

Like NOD said, you can get ship mods, you can see a list of them here.
I am doing something wrong or are sector/universe traders useless They are 90% of the time standby or make 2hr runs that earn 2 credit profits? I think maybe I need more statillites in good sectors. [editline]4th July 2011[/editline] Or maybe I'm using the wrong ships.
God my mining freighter is slow as fuck, and I almost panic when I see pirates in my radar.
Don't you escort your freighters? I would escort (In my own M4 or M3)when in sector rather than piloting the freighter. I find freighters depressing to pilot even though I'm used to piloting capital ships.
Spent my first 3 steam prize tickets on the extra content for this game....now I just need to be bothered to reinstall the game and play it. Love the game to bits, just starting from scratch is a pain in the ass, feels like a grind until you get decent terran security clearence.

Or maybe I'm using the wrong ships.
I get the same problem, apparently most people use a script called Commercial Agent also known as CAG. I don't bother too much about ST or UT's, I set them off and then check around on where they've got to after a while when I find they've stopped. It is 2 credits profit per piece that you're getting isn't it? That is decent, although it depends what you are selling. I find Energy Cells to be the most profitable.
Finally got this game, I heard its like EVE and i sucked at EVE, any tutorials?
Finally got this game, I heard its like EVE and i sucked at EVE, any tutorials?
There's a tutorial when you start the game for controls, what do you need tutorials in, some things are easily enough picked up on by some people but in others are not. You are much better signing up on the Egosoft forums for help, as they have a very active playerbase on the forums.
Alright, searched a bit on the mod page, is there no mass effect/firefly ship mods?
Alright, searched a bit on the mod page, is there no mass effect/firefly ship mods?
You just got the game you might want to learn the rope before you go and add 5 million different mods.
Alright, searched a bit on the mod page, is there no mass effect/firefly ship mods?
You tried this page? There's one Firefly ship mod(Serenity) that I can see on there, I couldn't see any Mass Effect ships on there, but then again I don't know the names of anything on Mass Effect so they might be in the "Other ships" part of that thread. Like Shadow_coole said, you might want to learn a bit about the game first before you install the mods. Some ships are rather overpowered and could spoil your experience of the game.
You just got the game you might want to learn the rope before you go and add 5 million different mods.
Im not talking OP ships or anything, just a new model or something.
How do I get to the Kha'ak sectors? Apparently those are where most of the Nvidium is, but those are near impossible to get to.
You need a jump drive whatever it was called again. And ECells [editline]4th July 2011[/editline] And a big fleet.
You need a jump drive whatever it was called again. And ECells [editline]4th July 2011[/editline] And a big fleet.
Ah, well on the military side I am not so good, but, just for future reference for when I do have good stuff, how do I DISCOVER the khaak sectors?
I want this to become a daily deal on Steam.
Slap a turret on the back of them and set them to Self Defense in that ship's command console, atleast then they aren't completely helpless [editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
Alright, searched a bit on the mod page, is there no mass effect/firefly ship mods?
Ohhhhhhh Yes there is. Plenty. Loads of controls? What the shit. I remember less controls in TC than most shooters nowadays.
Sweet jesus losing your SETA in a dogfight is a bitch it is a fate worse than death in some cases
Sweet jesus losing your SETA in a dogfight is a bitch it is a fate worse than death in some cases
And your hull below 50% :suicide:
I really, really like this game, but gah there is too many fucking controls... I really want to get into it but it's too hard.... I guess i'll stick with eve...
Max you're awful at EVE what made you think you'd like this game which is essentially single player EVE?
I really, really like this game, but gah there is too many fucking controls... I really want to get into it but it's too hard.... I guess i'll stick with eve...
It's too hard, but you'll stick with EvE? That's... Whaaaat?!
And your hull below 50% :suicide:
I've always thought you got screwed over too easily if your shields went down in X. Your ship slows down, you start losing equipment, and in most cases it lasts a lot less long than shields when shot with the same weapon. It'd be nice if some of this was changed in Rebirth, so that both hull and shields are relevant in a fight.
